      Can't find the smart on or smart stop option on my machine.
      When I get up at night to use the restroom, I have to turn my machine off each time. I miss the auto off from my old machine.. 😮

      @@margaretarmijo1062 I am so sorry I did not see this question. If your on the home screen with the Blue and Purple Pinkish options. If you got to My Options the blue option. If you scroll down to the bottom. You have Smart Start and Smart Stop. To the right is a little lever type button they both need to be blue. If not just press so they both are and go back to the home screen. Your smart on and off should work from there. I once again apologize for the super late response. Have a great day!

    Thank you, thank you, 1000 times thank you. As others mentioned they get you a machine and you’re mostly on your own. So I’ve watched dozens of videos on the setup and use of the Resmed 11. Your video was the best by far. It really showed me how to setup and use my machine. Also, what is important and realistic cleaning intervals. For years I resisted a CPAP machine. When I became so tired every day, and my blood pressure would climb, I finally got the machine. It’s a life changer. I’m 81 and my energy and stamina are back. That’s why I want to be certain I keep using and maintaining the machine. Which your splendid video will help me do.

    I have had two issues with this machine. I was getting "large leak" notifications. Drove me nuts trying to adjust the mask. I've realized it is the water tank not seated properly. Pulling it out and reinserting it has solved the problem. You've given me the most important info which is "don't worry too much about mask leakage".

    Great video. I never use the bags that come with these, I have bought a few nice camera backpacks and a medical equipment tag. I travel a LOT and have never had one issue with this. The camera bags have quick open sides to pull the device out if you need to for TSA, lots of padding, and enough room to carry most of your usual carryon stuff (tablet, xbox controller, backup battery, sunglasses, umbrella). With the medical equipment tag, I never get questioned, and the backpack I use now works great under seats.

    Outstanding points you covered. Being a long-time C-PAP user and having picked up my new machine from the VA. They walked me through using the machine and where to order new supplies. I do like this C-PAP Res-Med way over anything I have used prior. I even take camping and hiking trips. Back up my HALO battery which gives me 3-days. My only suggestion was that I was about to stop your video. At the first intro point tell the viewer everything you going to be covering. That will keep folks like me tuned in longer to watch all the great info and like you this is one if not the BEST of all C-PAP. I would also suggest to anyone over 10 years to get a new SLeep STUDY as things have changed and there is much more they can tell you about your sleeping habits and issues. I learned in RIM sleep (which happens a few times per night) my jaw drops open and I breathe through my mouth. Good Luck.

      Hi,
      Thanks so much for reaching out and the comment! Much appreciated. So, you know the machine is an Autoset unit and therefore it adjust to meet your needs automatically. Maybe possibly your in need of a higher pressure now, then you did before. You can go into the mode to change your EPR expiratory pressure relief, to help with the breathing against the higher pressure you feel. Also the Auto Start and Stop you can set, if you want if you want help with having to turn off manually at night. Not sure the type of machine you had before what it was set on and so forth. You may have been on a set pressure rather than a Auto pressure and that is why it felt comfortable. You can give me a call at 8444516555 or email james.curles@sleeplay.com and I can walk you through.

      Wow, thanks you so much for the encouragement! We really appreciate it, I am passionate about what I do and care for patients. Over the many years setting up all age groups, I have found simplicity is key. You need to actually be able to use the machine to get the benefit everyone shouts about. Then if you would like to know more detailed technical information you can. Some people never use because there bombarded with all the medical terminology, advanced features and programs etc. They walk out of the office or the tech leaves the home and they have no idea what to do, kind of funny but it is not. Glad you found helpful really, please reach out to me whenever needed. 8444516555 ext. 005 I would be glad to help if able.

      Absolutely! I appreciate you watching and enjoying my video. So there are several places to put the mask either in the front compartment next to the power cord. In the netted compartment up top when opening the case. Or in the zipper compartment outside the carrying case. I am assuming you have a full face mask and understand your pain. I used to advise patient's that all the time. It is really hard to fit a full face mask especially a larger one in the case. They tried to make the case so small I don't know if they thought of that.

    I've been using this Auto-CPAP for over 2 years now and love it. Only negative for me is during winter months when I get sinus congestion, the pressure rises too high and this wakes me up. I have to turn off the machine and after a few seconds, turn it on again to restart the ramp up time (I have it set for 40 minutes) to avoid the feeling of my head wanting to explode from the air pressure.

    Great video. Easy to understand and very informative. I don't know why it never popped up the last 3 weeks I've been using this machine and going crazy over it. Lol I have a couple of questions about the mask and I would appreciate your help. I'm having trouble adjusting to the nose pillow or the newer model soft face mask. The nose pillow does not fit my nose properly the small seems to be too close to each other and a large is too far apart. I do not get the full air into my nose. I am initially set at 5 to 10 pressure. Then I tried the mask because the tech insisted that I'm a mouth breather, but I really am not. what the mask was doing to me was causing my mouth to open up my like a puffer fish. It actually causes my mouth to open up wide and was causing me to breathe in and out of my mouth. So I woke up with very dry mouth. It is uncomfortable because I cannot rotate in the bed as I normally do and I Also have claustrophobia. 😮 Any solutions for his complicated situation? I saw somewhere that there is a movable nose tip on the pillows. Is that true so I can adjust it into the nose rather than at the edge of the nose?

    • @Sleeplayground
      @Sleeplayground  3 дні тому

      Hi! 😊 Thank you for your kind words! Adjusting to CPAP therapy can be challenging, and we’re happy to help you find a solution that works best for you. Based on what you’ve shared, here are some possible solutions:
      For Nasal Pillow Fit Issues:
      Some nasal pillows, like the ResMed AirFit P30i, have a more flexible design that allows for slight adjustments to fit your nose better. However, most pillows don’t have an actual adjustable nose tip.
      If the spacing of the nasal pillows is an issue, you might consider trying a hybrid mask like the ResMed Mirage Liberty, which combines nasal pillows with a mouth seal.
      For the Full-Face Mask & Mouth Opening Issue:
      Since you don’t usually breathe through your mouth but find that the full-face mask causes you to do so, it might be worth trying a soft cervical collar or chin strap to help keep your mouth closed naturally.
      A hybrid mask (like the Philips DreamWear Full Hybrid) or a more minimal design might feel less restrictive and help with claustrophobia.
      For Claustrophobia & Rotating in Bed:
      Top-of-head hose connection masks, like the AirFit N30i or P30i, allow for more movement in bed, reducing restrictions.
      Some users also find that starting with a nasal mask during the day (watching TV, reading, etc.) helps ease feelings of claustrophobia before sleeping with it.
      Finding the perfect mask can take some trial and error, but we’re happy to help guide you toward the best fit! Let us know if you’d like more recommendations or need further assistance. Wishing you restful nights ahead! 💙😴

    I got mine yesterday. It’s the 2nd machine in 5 years. And it had this horrible smell when I put it on. I tried looking into it and the best I could come up with was off gassing of the plastics and glues and foams used in production. I let it run for a few hours and just blow air. It helped some the smell isn’t completely gone but hopefully that’s what it is and it’ll go away soon.

    I tested my resmed 11 with my allpower power pack using DC cigarettes cord and found something very interesting. The resmed 10 with heating tube/tank on would run around 5 hours with both off 7 hours before draining the pack. It's would take around over 30 watts heating on and over 20 off. The resmed 11 heating tube/ tank on between 20-25 watts with both off between 5 and 10 watts. After 10 hours my power bank said 55% power left. Look like 11 is more power efficient than 10 was.

    Hey James! I am very new to Sleep apnea and the airsense 11. When i get up to use the restroom, I dont want to make any loud noises! What is your recommendation for my machine if id like to leave my mask on? And, if machine stops while i am asleep, am i going to be able to breathe? This is my fear! Thank you James for being that one professional that has taught me so very much! 😊

      Wow appreciate you watching and the comment! Your absolutely welcome for sure, I love to share what I have learned with patients. So depending what mask, I know the Airsense 11 should start by themselves when the mask is on and you start to breathe. But you can set it to also shut off by itself. With nasal type mask I would do, not with Full face really. That is my recommendation if you wake up just bend the hose from the mask it will shut off go bathroom or water depending the mask come back to bed connect and the machine will turn back on.

    Thank you for the video. I just started using the AirSense 11 and this answered a lot of my questions. One thing not mentioned in the cleaning portion was the connection between the humidifier chamber and the outlet hose. I saw a video about the AirSense 10 that said that little connector can be the most likely to be contaminated with mold/mildew and showed an easy way to remove that elbow, using a long prong or pen tip (ball point not exposed). I have examined my unit and there is a similar piece in the AirSense 11 that appears to be intended to be removed for cleaning. Is this so, and how often does this need to be done?

    I’m kinda struggling with my AirSense 11. I’m in-between sizes for the nasal mask, the Med blew air into my eyes all night plus the silicone left raised, red rings around my nose/cheeks that took 2 days to go away. I changed to the Sm nose mask, and it’s a better fit but I feel like my nostrils are pressed upon, closing them a bit and worry I’m not getting my full benefits plus I spend a lot of time flaring my nostrils open which takes me longer to fall asleep. 🫤 My clinician is checking into maybe just a possible nasal plug type mask, kinda like what they put in your nose for oxygen at the hospital. Can you tell me what the First thing I should do upon waking? Do I just take off my mask and it will automatically stop treatment or do I need to press that top on/off button first THEN remove my mask? Thanks for your help!!! 😊

    • @Sleeplayground
      @Sleeplayground  Рік тому

      Hi,
      Thanks for reaching out! So yes I believe having the nasal cushion a little bigger is personally more comfortable, rather than the cushion up against my nostrils. The air blowing into eyes just means it needs some adjustment is all, but you have to find what works for you. That is the most aggravating but important aspect to therapy is the mask. If your experience any soreness redness like that it is being put on way to tight. You need to loosen so it can move with you and your comfortable obviously most importantly. Yes, the pillows or plugs that go into the nose are great for less leakage. But are just a little harder to get used to. If your clinician set the machine to Auto Start and Stop then it will turn on when you put the mask on and off when you rake off. Let me know if that helped and if anything else needed.

    • @Sleeplayground
      @Sleeplayground  Місяць тому

      Hi there! It sounds like you might be hearing the air escaping from the mask vents, which is completely normal when you remove the mask. The vents are designed to release exhaled air, and this can sometimes be loud when the mask is off.
      If your device shows a good seal and there aren't any leaks while you're wearing the mask, this is likely just the normal venting process. However, if the noise seems excessive or if you notice any changes during therapy, feel free to reach out - we’d be happy to help you troubleshoot further!

      Yes, absolutely! I have not heard to many issues as far as sound with the Air11. I know every so often on the Air10's the motor would whine after a while. The noise may be simply coming from the mask or the exhalation ports or holes on the mask. depending which mask. Another possibility may be the water chamber not being in all the way. If you have bought the unit from a local supplier I would bring back and have them look at it. The Resmed units have a 2 year warranty and they can send off to be repaired or replaced by Resmed. Let me know you find those suggestions helpful or there is anything else I can help with! I would be happy to.

Feels like I am not getting enough air. Will it ramp up? How do I know I am getting enough air? Thx. Note: my current cpap is broke so I dunno if it ramped up to 16 (it is always on 16). So glad you like it, thank you for the encouragement! So your pressure was 16.0 and now 4.0? Are you saying that is what they recommended for you for your airway. Or does the machine start at 4cm? You can know if you are getting enough air based on how you feel. But you can also see the events on the machine. I can show you how if you would like to call. I mean if it is working for you with or without the ramp just leave it I would say. As far as the bathroom you can take off the mask I usually recommend to keep on if able to make easier.

      Yeah, when they came out with the dishwasher safe chamber I was not aware at first. Dishwasher safe water chambers can be washed in a dishwasher, while non-dishwasher safe water chambers need to be washed by hand. Some manufacturers, like cleancpap.net, advise against putting CPAP water containers in the dishwasher because it could damage them. However, some ResMed CPAP water chambers are dishwasher safe, including the AirSense 10, AirStart 10, AirCurve 10, and H5i. If you do decide to use the dishwasher, you should:

    There IS a smooth side and a rough side to the air filters. Are you sure it doesn’t matter which side is facing out?

    Thanks for the video. Great information. Question: I just received my machine, but does the tubing need to be cleaned before the first use??

      I would clean it out if you like. I do not think it needs to be. May have that plastic smell though.

    As a first time user of the Airsense 11 I really appreciate your video. One question is you mention if you take it off to use the bathroom it stops. Does it start back up automatically Or do you hit start again upon putting it back on? Thank you again for your video.

      Hi Goodmorning!
      I am glad the video helped out. The answer to your question is, Yes. It does have the ability to turn off by itself, if the feature is not on from the manufacturer. Please give me a call and I can help you out! Appreciate you watching thanks for following.
