- For many of the run bys That you see in this video on the Aspen Crossing Railway Were filmed with my iPhone On my visits to there Campground and railway in 2020 and 2021. You’ll notice that as I go through the history of some of their cars and Locomotives we have either a similar or separate history, Aspen Crossing has many decent locomotives that run the railway, including the Ex Canadian Pacific GP9 No. 1624 that is the star of the run bys in this video, Aspen Crossing is a very unique place, and the drive To Aspen Crossing is 45 minutes from Calgary, and an hour and a half from Lethbridge. I would highly recommend you go visit this fun full-size Railroad that Runs 14 miles of track Of the former Canadian Pacific Lomond Subdivision by the way, Aspen Crossing is owned by A gentleman by the name of Jason Thornhill, A former farming resident to Mossliegh, Alberta that saved 14 miles section of rail from Canadian Pacific was Slated to be torn up, and 2001 was the last time a CP train went through Mossleigh, Alberta on the Lomond Subdivision. The tracks were safe from Canadian Pacific After six years of negotiations about using the former Canadian Pacific Lomond subdivision as a tourist line, however southwest of Aspen Crossing’s Point of operations on the fomer Lomond Subdivision, Is where Canadian Pacific Still uses the line between Herronton to Eltham But for storage used only. Plus, The Southwest end of the line Is the junction with the present day Canadian Pacific Alderside Subdivision. Aspen Crossing is a great railway campground because of its history, and because of its wonderful equipment!
