I have a six battery for 30 years. I put new Duracell in it about 10 years ago. Yesterday I tried it again for the first time since then, and it worked fine!
@@petervannoort5158 MADE IN USA 🇺🇸 Baby!!!! I recently purchased a 3Cell D Maglite for like 40 bux and another 15bux on a LED Buld and for that amount of money I could have bought 2, maybe 3 Chinese-Made flashlight with 1000 Lumens on Amazon but the intrinsic reliability and quality of a Maglite is unmatched 👌. I swear by Leatherman, Levi's, Raybans, SEIKO 200M DIVER'S watches and TOYOTA TRUCKS. Congrats on your Maglite buddy and hopes it lasts you a lifetime
Great video. I haven't carried a Maglite in 20 years, but now with the 3rd Generation series, I've bought new flashlights for all of my cars. The only problem with Maglite's is that they NEVER wear-out!! ;-)
These new Gen big Mags are the best big Mags ever. I have both ML50L and ML300LX. The emitter in these new gens is the tried and true XML2. If anybody knows of what else they may be by all means chime in. Despite the new Gens amazing reliability the lights still have 2 big flaws. The first one being that the flood beam out of them is still terrible. Not as bad as the incan Mags but still nearly unusable. Second is they come with the cheap crappy plastic lens. Mag offers glass lenses to fit them but they should come with them.
Can someone please explain to me in details. Not specifically for this model but for almost all Maglite LED lights. 3 cell models have nearly 3x longer runtime than 2 cell counter part. I can not seem to understand how Maglite made it to work like that???
Made is the USA.....that seals the deal for me....I just don't like D cells...wish they had a caddy for 6 AA....more options....maybe the next model or gen.
There's adapters that allow you to use AA batteries. 2 will fit inside each adapter , so 6 total AA batteries will fit in a 3D maglite. If it were me, I'd skip the Burgers for a week and invest in actual D size rechargeables for max capacity. I could always buy a pocket light but most aren't built as well and probably run 20 minutes on the max setting.
Sorry to say it but Maglite missed out on going LED and after years they still havn´t caught up . A cheap BLF A6 or Convoy C8, S2+ are 10 years ahead... I used to have 2, 3 and 4 D Maglites and a few smaller ones too. I upgraded with Nitizes led dropins and original Maglite dropins but I always missed brightness or good floodlight. My most expensive flashlight is now the Nitecore EC4S (60 $ sale Gearbest). If Maglite was this good I´d be willing to pay 90 $ but they do not have anything like it...
Sensorama2000 I do a lot of work outside often in mud and rain and I'm hard on flashlights. I had maglites years ago and then switched to smaller and brighter LED lights. They all broke including my surefire and the models changed enough that parts were no longer available. I'm about to go back to maglites. For heavy duty use they can't be beat.
I keep my 3D next to my seat in the car....great baseball bat it you ever need one....plus it works as a light.....try doing that with a CHINA made POS.
I carry a streamlight Strion on my belt every day. But to have a 17 hour run time 600 lumen small club that can shine a spot across 4 football fields that I can throw in the truck and always know it’s there is priceless.
@@stlf_reliance3887 this maglight sits next to my drivers seat.....it serves two functions very well.....gives me light when I need it....and protection from humans during these troubled times.....good luck to you on my second point with a flashlight you wear on your belt !
Maglites sind die Oldtimer unter den Taschenlampen und nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Die LED Technology ist von anderen Herrsteller wesentlich besser und heller. Zudem sind die Maglite schwer und zu groß zum mitführen
Now THIS is how to review a product! 👌 Excellent! Thank you 🙏
Thanks very much

+thumperjdm Yes that is very true they never wear out Hopefully it will stand true for the 3rd Gen to

One thing that make Mags really great - battery power.
The newer 2D model is brighter than an old 4 cell light with the ordinary flashlight bulb
I've got him to, it is a great torch.

But they give you that "defensive" weight
@@johnnymnemonic69 I carry a baseball bat that is also a flashlight......

Maglite are usually a letdown for distance then flooded...
but there reflector is very deep enough to get that far but can't be control.

Yeah but to hit someone ´s head, they are still the best....

When your black out, maglite is alright for darkness but for distance nah....

Beam pattern looks rubbish especially the flood. It's got lines and gaps all over it. These Maglites get trounced by the likes of Fenix, Olight etc.
Great vid but the product is blown away by modern day pocket lights . Under powered over priced
You can't take someone's head off with a pocket light.

Great video
Thanks really appreciate it
It has no memory, as in full power will be with the first button press even if another selection was used last...
PITA with a low battery
0:40 a lifetime limited warranty?
Is it possible to go to eco with one click?
No you have to cycle through the modes
Sorry haven't been on yt Much lately. Thanks toxic

The heavier the better and more quality the lighter the cheaper and more fake.
3rd gen 4D is best
2d too small. 4d too big. 3d just right.
