5:08. In the comics, Shrinking Ray (whom was a male hero) died from being eaten, so I am curious to see where the show will take Shrinking Rae in the future by having her survive that.
I suspect she'll be used in place of some of the other characters that aren't licenced for the show for upcoming major events. A body to cull later.
@@glyndwrjohn6383 All of the characters though in the comic had there own series like Wolfman and such. They changed Rae's gender too. I think she might be taking someone's place after I reread the issues this season is adapting.
@kingcaesar3693 they did but without spoilers for other people here, there are some events coming that will need bodies to increase impact and without those other characters I'm pretty sure they're just thinking of the required impact.
I bet she's becoming an expy of Tech Jacket because I'm pretty sure the show doesnt have the rights for him and Brit
@@kingcaesar3693 dang, and here i thought wolfman was one of kirkman's characters
I recently reread all of Invincible and there is SOOOO much that Mark needs to go through. I hope the show lasts long enough to see it.
Just finished my re-read too. Pretty sure Mark Grayson is an alternate reality Miles O'Brien.
I think its safe bet it will have opportunity to do so. Robert Kirkman said he thinks they will fit it all in 6-8 seasons total, more if show is succesful enough
@@kptmaci4979 6-8 seasons sounds doable
I hope they do some one offs like Rex's back story and such. Like how they did Eve's.
I think they will, they’ve said that they’ve renewed the show for season 4&5 already. I think if it gets a proper ending it has to go close to 10 seasons.
*augustine sees Eve and Rudy infected. Immediately starts looking at the comic😂
😂
That is *absolutely* how it happened in the books Augustin ❤️
Edit: I’m referring to Rex getting shot. Super iconic panel in the books
I watched to the end and now understand Augustin was talking about Brick coming through
But in the comic he just started fighting right away mid shot. I like the change here.
@@kingcaesar3693 barely a difference and definitely not what he was talking about
I’ve read the comics and that headshot caught me so off guard too 😂
But he DID get shot in the head by the lizard league in the comics when Kate died too. Am I insane?
Yeah just checked, he 100% is shot in the head in the comics too during this fight
@@penileshenanigans2613 It's the way they did it. In the comic he just started fighting mid shot. No down time.
@kingcaesar3693 oh sure I get that. I was just worried I was having false memories lol
I'll start with a little high praise (in Nick Cages voice). All three of you guys are major contributors in this space. Your positive interaction with the community is what I admire the most, giving both access, information and entertainment to multiple generations of comic book readers and people who are new to the genre. This show is amazing as is the comic it's based off of.
With that being said, I've read the comic. Infact its was your Kirkman interview, years ago that put me on to the comic. It's one of many I binged during the pandemic. You all mentioned the reviews you also do for comic books and how the Invincible comic series reviews aren't complete, which I hope will get completed. I like that those two things are separated and for those who have either read the comic and want a recap or for those who haven't that don't mind being spoiled to the source material they haven't read.
That leads to my main point (long winded mofo, sorry). This is just my opinion, but I wish those two things were separated when you react to the show. Hearing someone say, "That didn't happen this or that way in the comic" can be a little jarring and for anyone who either have or haven't read the comic and a bit of a spoiler for the latter. If it were reversed and I was reading the comic explaining a certain section I've read but hadn't watched on the show I'd be equally disappointed if someone told me the differences before seeing it. We know that adaptations are going to be different in some aspect (sometimes for good/bad). So far, Invincible has been far better (IMO) than Kirkman's other comic adaption! Also seeing people in the comment section raw dogging saying what happens in the comics with the certain characters, what's that about?
If anyone got this far, hope I didn't come across as obnoxious, rude or repetitive. I love that you all encourage your audience to read the source material. To me, it is the best media in storytelling. Just my two cents guys, that gummy is really kicking in. Looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully Hectors complete review of the comic. Best wishes to all from the East Coast✌
Not to go too deep in the woods. But this series is so important to disabled people like me. Seeing an invincible guy take every punch and explosion. All while bleeding as he takes them. It makes me feel so much stronger than I think I am.
Love the emotions this episode, it takes an opportunity to mostly slow down and let the characters grieve and deal with what happened to the guardians.
When Rex gets shot in the head, Agustin mentions thats not how it happened in the book, but I think it did. Crazy show! Love the content you guys put out. Always look forward to watching!
This emotional more grounded episode was amazing to get more lore and know what Amber and Debbie are feeling also Immortal had some emotional plot after DupliKate.
Idk if this is confirmed but i saw something that said marks potential is so high because of his human viltrumite mix. Like gohan kinda. But they said that while mark ages slightly faster than the normal viltrumite he can be stronger than all of them because he has adrenaline. Viltrumites don’t have adrenaline so their peak is their peak where mark gets stronger the angrier or more scared he is. If that’s true that’s cool asf
Not really a spoiler but he can also get stronger by pushing himself too. Flying faster for longer periods, lifting more, ECT. Just like any human can.
The casting in this show is just so good. Jason Mantzoukas is pitch perfect as Rex.
believe it or not, there are less vital sections of our brains than others, which is why there are a lot of examples actually of not only surviving but recovering from it and remaining the same person they were before…. Swelling is actually the most likely reason someone surviving a shot to the head, only to later pass away or never be the same, since there’s not much room in the skull for swelling..
I love those convo's between Mark and Art, paralleled with the convo between Eve and Amber. Just a masterclass in writing.
“BLAM” shock… *pages rustling*
I get so excited every time Allen is on screen.
16:58. Maybe it's just me, but I feel Levy's hatred of our Mark is unjustified. Levy said that in most other dimensions Invincible helps Omni-Man take over the planet, but our Mark didn't. Sure, the transfer of memories of his other selves showed Levy what an evil Invincible could be like, but he knows our Invincible is a hero. If Levy is mad at Mark for stopping the memory transfer, as Mauler pointed out by taking of the helmet it caused all of his other selves to die (which Levy seemed to gloss over) & his brain to be deformed. Also, Levy was the 1 who decided to transfer 1,000 minds all at once instead of 1 at a time, so was his own carelessness that caused him to become a villain. Finally, I feel Levy should have teamed up with our Mark to learn more about why he opposed Omni-Man & the Viltrumite Empire since he knows most Marks teamed up with them. If Levy had discovered why our Mark was unique in wanting to protect the Earth he could find a way to stop the Viltrumite Empire here.
The problem is this Levy isn’t just aware of what his other selves knew about their Marks, his memories are dominated by 999 others who have deep hatred for Marks and what they did to their worlds. He became a host for all of that resentment and pain, so no matter whoever should actually be blamed for the deaths of all his alternates, our Levy has only one part in a thousand that believes he should be given a chance.
He blames Mark for what happened to him. It's that simple. That and the others versions mixing into him make him believe he is justified in hating him. Even though it's all on him he doesn't see that.
the show is just so good. I've never been more thankful to be alive to see this show lmao
i like how yall released these reactions daily leading up to the finale. the patreon option is there but this is a fun way for youtube viewers to get a daily video as well as a daily reminder to sub to pateron if they wanna see reactions when the episodes come out for future shows
This was very bloody and gruesome episode
Yesssss needed these reactions from yall!!!!
They are changing things from the comic just enough that, as someone who has read the comics multiple times, I’m on my toes, but not so much that it’s a whole new version like The Boys (tho that’s for the better)
THANKS for this!!!!!
God this show is SO good. Probably the most faithful adaptation of source material ever.
I think it vastly improves source material so far. Not that the comics are not good, but part the series covers so far, the early issues - not the best. Comics get good around current S2 point. Its definetely most faithful adaptation considering necceseary changes. So far I would argue Attack on Titan from things I saw is almost 1:1 adaptation. It doesnt change almost anything and all panels are 1:1 translated from manga. If something is ever changed - it usually ADDS new scenes that werent even in source material.
@@kptmaci4979 Oh you're not wrong. Wherever they've changed it, it's been for the better. But it still captures the spirit and key moments.
just in time!
I can’t wait to see your reaction to the next episode 😂❤
5:08 My question is why tf would they let Rex fall like that?
headshot survivability aside how did rex not bleed out?
I am pretty sure Rex gets shot in the head in the comics.
You guys were too okay with Mark attacking Immortal. Yes he had a point, but he's being overly aggressive the entire Mars adventure.
It wasn’t handled well in the episode especially considering later when the Immortal says he’s ashamed of not trusting Mark in that moment… which he did almost immediately after hearing his argument. If Immortal had seen Mark going for the device and dove in deliberately before him, but was then convinced after that he was wrong for not trusting the fastest member with the delivery, it would have made a lot more sense.
he really just pushed him.
First😎
Idk. Iv waited like...over 10 years with AoT. Week after week without a single spoiler(been slightly spoiled already). Its such a well done show
