alright man, i'm sold. That smile on your face after popping off your first few rounds of the radian compensator says it all! thanks! and great review!
Dad’s a revolver guy! Almost busted that thumb. Also, apparently dad’s a pool guy, too! Haha. Plus +10 for the Jandy shirt; that’s what my pool equipment is. Love how it runs as compared to my Pentair equipment we had at our old house.
Ran mine in gen 3 Glock I live Cali the 13ld spring on there compressor did the trick for me had issues with stock spring and there other springs from the kits but the 13 ran with only one stove pipe
Great review, thank you! I also noticed the slide wasn't locking back on the last round. Kagwerks makes a raised slide stop to combat that high grip issue. Although it may cause slight marring on the slide unfortunately.
This is a old vid, haven't even watched yet but I am currently in the market for a Radian Afterburner so I clicked and subbed just off of the channel name alone!
I put one on my Shadow Systems XR920. Have about 500 rounds through the combination. It is everything they say it is. Target stays in red dot window. Hard to shoot anything else after you shot this setup. 5 stars. Highly recommend.
You have to figure too that the non comped barrel had a light that would have soaked up a little bit of the recoil. Meanwhile the comped barrel did not have a light, so that demonstrates further how effective this comp design is.
i have the mr920, waiting for the comp to come in. do you need a reduced power spring to get it to lock back? i know this problem happens with some compensators, but its radian i dont expect them to have reliability issues.
I realized after I posted this video I failed to talk about the ammo I used or about my experience with the spring rates etc. I plan to do a short update video talking about it all. I will say when I was shooting it, I experienced zero issues with all three different spring rates. My wife did have issues with the slide not locking forward with the two lightest springs, but not with the heaviest spring. I attribute this to the difference in her grip strength and recoil management experience.
@@faithkillsfear thanks man 👍. Ive been reading reddit comments saying radian knows their comp has reliability issues but it's the internet. Had to hear from someone with both the same gun and comp lol
What comp did you go with? And I have a mr920, shadow system won’t tell me what barrel is compatible with their product because it will void warranty. I’m interested in the killer innovations velocity barrel and comp I believe it’s a gen3 and am having a hard time finding any information to see if this will work
@@hayatojohnson3440 the radian afterburner and ramjet is a comp and barrel system. The radian comp will only fit on the radian barrel cuz it's proprietary. I used the gen 4 version. Plug and play. Everything works fine for me
My zaffiri slide is a Gen 3 but I use a little adapter plate to use it on the gen4 shadow systems frame. When I get a chance, I will test fit it on the zaffiri slide and lyk. If you bought the correct generation afterburner, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.
So i have the mr920 elite. Been thinking about getting the ramjet combo but did you have to switch ammo? And do you have to change your spring rod ? Also why do your guns not stay racked back after the last round ?
I noticed your slide doesn’t engage the release after your last round sometimes, I was considering buying a shadow systems is this a reoccurring issue with that product?
Your flashlight seems pretty close to coming out at the bottom. Is your gun sliding in farther than it normally does? I have a G19 holster and hoping mine won’t stick out as far when I install the compensator. Currently I have about half an inch so hoping to be less than 1/2 inch sticking out. If this is how all your holsters are you should look at a wedge if you want to keep the 19 holster. It will bump out the bottom giving you room and comfort.
The light is stopped at the bottom by the kydex. It isn’t sticking out any further than usual except for the compensator obviously. I’ve tried a wedge and found them super uncomfortable. But everyone is different. If you have a half inch it shouldn’t stick out far at all
I did not test the factory 918 spring. Although I really wish I had. A lot of people have asked. When I make it back to the range I will test it out. Yes, this was the Gen 4 kit.
You should try some of that vibratite v3 thread locker on that tapered screw. It works really well for rmr screws too bc it doesn’t fully lock it it’s for vibrations. Also I watched Taran tacticals video and he did not mention any thread locker on that screw. Plus the vibratite is easy to get off. No heat needed. Awesome video btw man. Love the gun 👍
Yeah. I considered not using any but wanted to make sure it stayed put for our range session. I opted for 243 blue so I would be able to remove it as needed. It was a trade off. I probably would’ve used rocketset if I knew it wasn’t coming off.
@@faithkillsfear yea man check out the vibratite v3. It’s awesome. Anyway buddy nice quality video and good information. I’m digging the channel man. Keep it up 👍
On “glockish” frames, I grip really high and my hand inadvertently rides the slide stop. My wife and Dad don’t grip as high and it locked back every time for them
great video really enjoyed it! one question, was this a gen 3 or gen 4 afterburner/ramjet? i am also a big fan of shadow systems and i believe their pistols are compatible with gen 3/4 glock barrels but wasnt sure. thanks!
Thank you! No I didn’t. But I did try all three spring weights. I had zero malfunctions. But my wife was having the slide not lock back forward (less grip strength) so I swapped in the heaviest spring and it fixed the issue.
@@faithkillsfear What Gen Radian Ramjet/Afterburner did you order for the MR918. Not sure if you noted that. I have an MR918 and am interested in this. Also, is their guide rod a requirement? Doesn’t seem so.
Great to see different levels of shooters just blasting some rounds with both setups. You have "Gucci" Glock type pistols that have a lot of mods that normal folks have. What type of ammo were you shooting? Did adding the Loctite make disassembly more difficult? Great looking pistols!

Big far of the comp/barrel but it's STUPID EXPENSIVE I'm willing to guess the recoil rod will be what $100? $150 I mean come on man, I think I'll wait 6 months and get the much cheaper company that clones the setup,it's a wonderful design combo but for fucks sake almost the price of another glock its absurd hope you read this radian

You use a Allen wrench and remove it. The blue locktite doesn’t effect this

What was the round count on the first test of the barrel and comp?
What Gen did you purchase to fit the Shadow Systems MR918?

haven't read all the comments but have to compared the ported Zaffiri barrel with the ramjet?
The ramjet is noticeably more flat and soft than the zaffiri. But the ported zaffiri barrel is flatter and softer than a stock glock barrel.

It fits most glock 19/clones. So if the slide is the same size and general g19 slide than it should work.
