Mister, your video quality is second to none . And the steps shown explain themselves. Thank you for such a thoroughly professional presentation. Greetings from South Carolina!
A couple of things about the assembly. A drop of oil on the timing gear where it runs on the shaft would help. The connecting rod caps are aligned and only go on one way, same with the main bearing caps as there is a right and a left. You also lubed the wrong side of the rod bearings, but you did lube the crank, so it made up for that. There is an alignment on the flywheels. The counter weights should be across from each other and away from the piston which should be at top dead center. When you tighten the flywheel down on the governor side it changes the distance from the slide to the gear, you have to adjust for that. You did not show the valve clearance adjustment made at the push rod and the rocker arm. If you mount the fuel tank 180 degrees from where you mounted it, there is more clearance to fill the tank. You have the filler close to the valve train. Finally, there is a way to route the wiring through the frame to tidy it up. Minor things, but there is a right and wrong way to assemble engines.
@@beulahalestick8297 That is what I did, but they still wanted to come out. I finally got it though. It took a while to get the carb tuned, but it runs great.
They have a hit n miss engine show in my area every year... They have a 125 h.p. engine.. its as large as a freight train... Very nice video.. thx for sharing...
I love hit and miss engines. I go to a festival here in the town in. It runs one weekend at the end of every April and September. There's a LOT of old hit and miss engines on display, and also old diesel engines and old steam engines. I love it.
for mounting the fuel tank, I think it would be easier to mount the inside portions first then put the fuel tank in the grooves then fold the straps over to the outside and mount there, that way there won't be any hassle
It would work but it would take a very long time to recharge a cellphone. It's very cool engine but the simple fact is it probably doesn't put out enough power to charge a cellphone in less than 24 hours.
I bought this same model, which is still in the box. I also have a Stuart 10H steam engine hooked up to a dynamo that fits in a cigar box. The goal is a steam-powered cell phone charger.
Thanks for sharing your very nifty engine. I have a couple "one lungers" , that were used in a saw mill and for water pumps in AK. I wish you all the best in all future endeavors.
Well if you want to hit or miss engine and you don't have a lot of room this isn't that bad way to go. Buying a fully restored engine will cost you about the same plus it takes up a lot of room. That little guy you could hide in your sock drawer away from the wife.😂
It's a great little engine, absolutely my favorite! It's $389.99 and with my coupon, you can get a 10% discount. Discount code: AJRESTORATIONS HM-01 Engine ►bit.ly/49OPPXk
That engine doesn't produce enough power to run more than a 2 lumen LED. You would be better off with a candle. Even better an oil lamp with a glass chimney. Seriously.

I use the bottom valve to shut the engine down, I actually have no idea what its used for. Feel free to use my link and coupon, gives you extra discount. bit.ly/49OPPXk Discount code: AJRESTORATIONS
The bottom valve is the Intake valve. It has a weaker spring on it that the piston will suck open on the down stroke. My full-size Sattley you actually hold it open with your finger to release the compression as you spin up the flywheel.
It is rather pricey, but it is worth it with the all-stainless steel-milled parts. Use the link and my channel discount code. It could save you a few bucks. bit.ly/49OPPXk Discount code: AJRESTORATIONS
I thought I had everything that I could ever want but now I see that is not true. I've got to have one of these. And I hope they follow up with implements to run off of it.

I can't believe it .a video without ridiculous annoying music ! well done 10/10
Thank you, yes I don't do the crappy music and sped up videos.
I agree. I abandon videos with awful noise, posing as music. Total spoiler for me.
Completely agree. No annoying music.
Yes, great video with really nice background sounds! Well done!
Yes, I just subscribed because of that!
I'm impressed. I've restored 17 antique cars, but I'm getting old.
I've found a new hobby.

@@UT-CLANS I do every day, thanks.
I believe he used the lube to hold the bearings in place during installation.

@@UT-CLANS this is good criticism, feedback like this is stupidly important when doing things like this. I dont think he should take a hike at all.

Wow imagine putting this small one on top of the large 125hp for comparison.
What a beautiful kit! Thanks for posting this.
You are so welcome!
Glad you got that put together All of those small parts can get lost real quick Glad they sent it with the tools to help you get it put together
I did almost lose some of the small parts. Had to go down on my knees to look for it haha
@@AJRestoration well at least you found them to get it done otherwise you would have to get more of them from the company that made it
All the way from china, that would be sad to wait a week for parts.

I saw that.
Yes I agree
Ok Smart*ss next time
The tank looks mounted backwards.....fuel filler cap should be on the less obstructed side. Fuel outlet hose is centered below, either way.
What an impressive kit. It appears to be of high quality parts and the paint is beautiful.
It is full stainless steel, really good build quality.
If I had this, I would attempt to turn it into a generator to charge 5V devices just for the heck of it. Nothing like a working engine.
It would work but it would take a very long time to recharge a cellphone. It's very cool engine but the simple fact is it probably doesn't put out enough power to charge a cellphone in less than 24 hours.
@@bradbergman3673Little motor could probably get a little generator to put out 20 watts

For all of us who love motors, it's gorgeous.
Great video! It's possible that a light interference bearing shell fit in the con rod big end will keep it from rotating yet leave crankpin clearance.
Where do you get these kits, would make a great gift 🎁🎁.
That's what I want to know also
Now you need to put it on a tiny pump jack like they use on a oil or gas well 👍
Oh man that would be awesome! That might happen in the future.
Thanks for sharing your very nifty engine. I have a couple "one lungers" , that were used in a saw mill and for water pumps in AK.

Cool little project. Nicely done.
Glad you like it Mark, its was a lot of fun building it.
Wonderful video. Beautiful craftsmanship, a work of art. Thank you.
A big thanks to you buddy!
If it rotates, oil it; if it slides, grease it.
Good tip!
Great video, what an awesome build!! 👍👍
My hit/miss is a little different, like 500lbs heavier. 😉😅😅
My grand dad had one on a tractor you could hear it coming from miles away.
And it will run slow, like they should. Very good video!
Beautifully machined and assembled; ran perfect! What?? No whistle? lol
Good video, Is it important where the counterweights on the flywheels go?
Nice to watch being assembled. And the engine was beautifully designed and manufactured ! 😊❤😊
That is cute, they even give you a syringe of Lubriplate 105 as assembly lube.👍😎
Something's wrong with the con rod journal. Should not be that tight.
Retired Mech Eng here. Great post!
Awesome! Thank you!
Where did you source the fuel tank, base and spark plug? Or does the kit now come with these parts? 🙂
Yea! no big bang music, looks like a 10-18 year old assembled. sounds and runs great.. sounds like a 4 banger.
Nice job!
I love the sound it makes.
Glad you like it!
Wonderful mechanical masterpiece! Excellent assembly job. Enjoyed this video very much.
What a beautiful little masterpiece 😍
A beautifully presented model, cheap at twice the price!
From India. Nice work. Very fine.
Dropped the clutch too quick at the end 🤣
That thing is nice, man. Good video.
if you fixed the inner end of the fuel-tank straps first, it would be easier to put the second pair of screws in.
I was thinking he had the fuel tank in backwards....filler neck should be on the side with fewer obstructions.
Even better... bend the brass straps into the desired U shape by wrapping them around the fuel tank BEFORE setting the tank on it's pedestal.
Neat machine , good job building it .
Thank you! It was a lot of fun building it!
It's adorable! But it looks like they used a single rubber O-ring in place of their piston ring, which seems awful.
I've always loved these kinds of old engines, they have a certain charm.
Nice! I know what I want for my birthday this year.
You won't regret it!

You should have used power tools, lol, I'm only kidding, beautiful engine, excellent video.
Haha thank you!
This little thing is pretty cool
The inertial governors on this small engine are really similar to that of a go kart motor that is driven off the cam
What I love is the valve clearance 😂 "How many thousands does it need, boss?"
"your gonna need a measuring tape, not a feeler gauge"
Hahaha pretty much, I kinda went by the eye.
Now make a fan next to it powered by it😊

@@bradbergman3673 so what book would i read? ty.
what fuel are you using? I tried The zippo lighter fluid like the instructions say, but that does not seem to be working.
What kind of grease did you use? Looks like a lithium grease? I couldn't find any direction in the manual on this.
I used molybdenum disulfide grease, but you gan use general purpose grease.

Nice engine but how does the rod bearing get lubercated?
It is lubricated before each run, with a little bit of oil. Some user use grease.
Very cool!
Do they have anything to belt up to this motor to run like a little pump or something?
I think they have a small little pump that works.
Merry Christmas AJ, and I hope you have an awesome new year.
