    Ours is brand new. Did the initial startup when we bought it. 3 months later and it won't turnover using gas. But will run on propane.

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  10 місяців тому +1

      Definitely sounds like a clogged main jet issue. The clogged jet prevents gas from getting out the carb bowl to mix with air and reach the piston. It will run on propane because the propane does not pass through the main jet. Follow the instructions on my video and your generator will start and run with gasoline without issues. Thanks for watching 🙏🏾

    For Firman generators to run clean.
    You need to buy:
    1. magnetic oil stick
    2. Mobile 1 05-W40 oil
    3. Premium gas ⛽️

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  7 місяців тому

      If those work for your Firman that’s good to know. Thanks for sharing.
      What I use:
      1. Never skip maintenance. (Carb cleaning, spark arrester cleaning, spark plug and oil change, etc.)
      2. Oil really depends on your weather but 10w-30 is what manufacturer recommend.
      3. I prefer regular gas with SeaFoam motor treatment.

    Thank you very sir for sharing the knowledge. I have the same problem with the same generator which has a total run time of 23hours. Unfortunately it was not used a year with old fuel in the carb. May i ask if installing a fuel filter between the tank and carb would add any benefits to the fuel system?

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching my video. Adding a fuel filter won't hurt but honestly these small inverters have the screen filters on the fuel tank which will filter foreign objects from getting into the tank and that should be good enough. What I do recommend though, is to use a fuel treatment / additive. I use and recommend the one called Seafoam, it extends the life of the fuel and cleans your carburetor when the generator is operating. It helps keeping the carb clean so it won't get clogged like that.

    Bro do those clear hoses get attached to anything

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  Рік тому

      Some inverters have two small holes in the bottom where you can stick the clear hoses out. Those clear hoses are to drain the fuel out the carburetor.

      Thank you so much. I got it working thanks to you. It still sputters a bit but it no longer stalls. I have been a car mechanic for 25 years and this is the first small carb I ever took apart. Now I will finally change the oil and put some new gas with no ethanol in it. I have the Firman W3300ie. Do you know what else could cause it to sputter or die after 10 min or running?

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  Рік тому

      I’m really glad my video helped you get the generator running 🙌🏾. To answer your question, some things that can cause a generator to sputter are a bad fuel, dirty spark plug or bad carburetor gaskets. Also, one thing that can cause the generator to stop while running is the oil sensor.

  • @seizingthedream
    @seizingthedream Рік тому +1

    There are two clear hoses that are connected to the carb - one appears to be for draining the fuel from the carburetor. What is the other one for? I noticed in my generator that neither one is connected to anything and it looks like you didn't connect them to anything in your video, but I wanted to be sure I didn't accidentally knock one end loose when I was changing the battery.

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  Рік тому +3

      Yes, there are two clear or pink hoses (depending on the generator brand). One of them is to drain the fuel out of the carburetor bowl and the other one is for fuel overflow in the case the float needle isn’t sitting right or it is stuck. The excess fuel will start draining out the hose.
      Both have one end connected to nothing, but there are two small holes in the generator’s housing where you can pass them through for them to stick out the generator.

    How do you break in your new Generators?

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  6 місяців тому

      I recommend following manufacturer’s guidelines for specific instructions on breaking in your generator model. But, I normally won’t exceed 50% of the rated running watts during the first five hours of operation. I also vary the load occasionally to allow the stator windings to heat and cool and help seat the piston rings. Thanks for your comment and for watching my video.

    I have a pull start version of this generator, and at 10:12 you say "Fuel hasn't filled up the carburetor bowl yet" when it doesn't start on the first try. My generator is new, and it takes about a dozen pulls before it starts, then it works fine. Is this normal, because the carb bowl takes a few pulls to fill up with gas? Thanks, and great video!

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  Рік тому +1

      In the video the carburetor was empty and I turned the fuel valve on and started cranking, not letting the fuel fill up the bowl before the generator started turning.
      In your cause (it could be a few things), but it sounds like you might not be choking the generator during start up or you are flooding the carburetor.
      Another thing you might want to do is clean the carburetor, I have seen brand new generators that won’t start straight out of the box because the carburetor bowl and main jet for some reason were coated in foreign material.

      @@tacticalpowerpro Thanks for the reply. I definitely have the choke pulled out, because if I don't it won't start at all even with a hot engine. Maybe I'll spray some carb cleaner in there. I don't really want to take out the carb and fiddle with it on a brand new machine, I know I'll just make things worse. I'll also try premium gas, since I'm using regular 87 octane (10% ethanol) right now.

    Going to try this on the wh3200. Put a small amount of old fuel in and no start. Even on ether?

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  9 місяців тому

      Yes go ahead and try it. I will recommend spraying a lil bit of carburetor cleaner instead of ether through the carb to see if it starts and shuts down. That way you know you have spark. If you have spark then most definitely you have a clogged main jet in the carb like the inverter in my video.

    I have a firman who3242 and won't start propane or gas. Have spark. Oil full. Won't start

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  7 місяців тому

      How many hours of runtime you have on the generator? If you have spark and your carburetor is not clogged then your problem could be that your valves are out of adjustment causing the engine to lack compression. Adjust the valves to the correct clearance and test for compression.

    Mine starts and runs but no power output. ECM?? Think it is boat anchor W3083 --- always had issues with one (bought 2 same)

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  Рік тому

      Hi, is the engine running fine? The Firman inverters like to wait a few seconds to make sure everything is good to start producing power. If the engine is not running properly (due to a dirty carburetor, clogged air filter, etc.) then that might be the issue. But if everything is good with the engine then you might just need to reset the breaker. You may have a loose connection / broken wire or in the worst case scenario a bad inverter module.

  • @MrZman0004
    @MrZman0004 2 роки тому +1

    Like you mentioned, the carburetor didn't really look dirty. Do you think it just needed more priming or possibly a loose wire connection?
    Either way, the video is still good if somebody wants to see how to disassemble the carburetor.

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  2 роки тому

      The bowl wasn’t really dirty but the main jet was clogged. It looks like someone tried to clean the carburetor before but failed to clean the main jet, not the first time I’ve seen this happen.
      Thank you for supporting and watching my videos.

    I have sort of the same issue. i have a Firman 3300. when i push the choke on the front, it won't start. but if i take off the back panel and choke it manually with the rear choke, it will start. Any idea what would cause that.

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  12 днів тому

      Hi! Rear choke? The back plate on the carburetor is the throttle plate. That one needs to be open for the fuel to reach the piston. Did you fully clean the carb?

    • @joeortega7759
      @joeortega7759 6 днів тому +1

      @tacticalpowerpro hello I'm having the same issue. I think the guy above is saying the push button auto choke isn't working. It's the lever you were moving back and forth when you started it up after you cleaned the carb. When I push my choke button it does nothing. If I manually push it to the right and start it, it fires right up. Then I move it to the left and it runs fine. I'm assuming it's the motor that runs the choke is bad. Could you call me please. @@joeortega7759 Hello, ok so when you press the electronic choke push button and the choke stepper motor has no movement, most likely than not, the generator has a dead or weak battery. Verify the battery terminals are not loose and that the battery has the 12v needed to engage the stepper motor.

    • @joeortega7759
      @joeortega7759 5 днів тому +1

      @tacticalpowerpro the battery is brand new and had plenty of juice to turn over the electric starter and once it does start with me chocking it manually the throttle motor works fine. It's just the choke that does work

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  5 днів тому

      Ok good, then use a multimeter to test continuity at the button. That way you verify if the push button is opening and closing its contact when you press it.

    When I pull start it works perfect but when I push the little red button to start it it doesn’t start check the battery it’s 100% what could it be

    • @tacticalpowerpro
      @tacticalpowerpro  Рік тому

      First make sure that the battery is connected properly, second, some units have a fuse after the battery, make sure that fuse it’s not blown and third make sure the starter is getting battery power, if it’s not getting power then you might have a loose wire of a bad cranking relay.
