    Thanks to you all for your feedback and comments relating to the previous "driving" version of this video.

    Wow, I think I am pretty much looking at the same sort of bill for my 2011. My 3.6 never produced these bills. The 4.4 seems to be more expensive to maintain than the 3.6 from what I can see so far. Very helpful video allowing me to feel the oncoming pain.

      @@benfel9403 Glad you found the video useful. Maybe your 3.6 wasn’t old enough when you sold it to need these jobs doing? I think all the maintenance I’ve had to do is just catching up on things the previous owner probably suspected were going to need attention. Apart from the front ball joint I’ve just done. That was fine when I bought it a year ago!

    Great insight into L322 ownership - We have a number of things in common - I am the proud owner of a fantastic 2012 L322 Westminster and..... I removed the drive shaft and hub assembly to change the ball joints in the knuckle. It seems like a lot of work but approx 1.5 hours per side and makes extracting the ball joint easy. Worth considering.

    Hey Woody,
    Just discovered your videos this evening and thoroughly enjoying them, very informative.
    I’m just in the process of doing some research on the L332 (as I really fancy a 4.4v8 facelift model) and have been a bit shocked at the cost of ownership you’ve experience in the first year or so….
    My question is were you aware that you’d have to do some work on the car you bought? I’m assuming you did some research yourself before buying to make sure you got a decent one, so was all that a surprise?
    Thanks

    • @Woodyrvf750
      @Woodyrvf750  3 місяці тому

      @@fraser.5362 firstly, thanks for your kind comments. Really glad you are finding the videos of my ownership experience and maintenance useful.
      Secondly, I didn’t do enough research. I bought a car that had an annual service, with evidence, which is pretty unusual. The only real shock has been the high pressure fuel pump. The rest is bits wearing out on a 12 year old car.
      I was aware of a restricted performance issue when I bought it which was caused by an aging vacuum pipe. Buy the best you can afford.. 🙏

      @ thanks for the update. It’s the wear and tear of a 12 yr old car that is beginning to concern me. I can look around and get one that has been looked after but I’m not able to do the kind of work you do so it’d need to go to a specialist garage and that could end up costing a lot of money…
      Keep up the good work though, it’s definitely helping me…👍

    • @Woodyrvf750
      @Woodyrvf750  3 місяці тому

      @ you’re right. There are still 4.4 TDV8s out there with full main dealer service histories. People say you pay a premium for these but in hindsight, they are probably worth it! It’s a good time to buy a well maintained example.

    • @fraser.5362
      @fraser.5362 3 місяці тому

      @@Woodyrvf750 yep, they do seem great value for the money…
      So I think all I can do is find a very well maintained one, check the history, have an AA check done and take a good warranty out before buying.
      Then get it serviced and all the fluids changed and run it over a decent distance frequently to keep the EGR and DPF valves working as normal.
      Then keep my fingers crossed 🤞

    • @Woodyrvf750
      @Woodyrvf750  3 місяці тому

      @ seems sensible. Maybe a check over by a specialist rather than AA? Expect the oil cooler to have been changed. If not, it will need doing. Have a good look at the fluid in the coolant expansion tank. It should be pink and the tank should be clear, not a black stained mess like mine was..

    You need to half all intervals on fluids and filters. Seriously. JLR's intervals are a threat to any Land Rover.

    Hi, I’ve just replaced the FSR ( hedgehog) as my heater had packed in, out of curiosity how long before swapping yours did the blower motor last before packing in and also did you have it done or do it yourself??
