Wow that 4th clip is 🤯. When he rolls from the hh to the tom sounding like a heavy machine gun.....sheesh!
Nate, you have the 'it' groove gift. Hope you land on a great song oriented band.
I’ve never seen that 4th clip before. 🔥 🔥 🔥!
he is a god
A slick Dude on skins, who continues to demonstrate that the groove IS the solo!✊️😎
Look at how loose the sticks are in his hands, they just float around, so much feel in his hands.
Yup. The second clip you can see his left palm really well...I kept thinking "it looks like he is letting go of the stick!"
He is so consistent with the way he hits that it can sometimes sound as though he’s triggering samples even tho it’s all acoustic
he just teach us that you only need the hh,snare and bass and groove like hell,
any full version of 1:33 ?
This is mostly just Nate playing cool back beats with some chops thrown in. I feel a "best of" should include his stuff playing drunk feel, polyrhythms & meters, and his work with Vulfpeck.
His solo with them at MSG would have been a great candidate, as would his piece with the shaker at NPR Tiny Desk. I don't feel like this really showcases what makes him interesting or unique, it's just good beats that good drummers play, played well.
