Nice review man. I watched your talisman playlist this afternoon whilst "working". Clean presentation, decent camera, good lighting and clear explanation. Keep it up :)
+Zajebex Ah, sorry Zajebex. I tend not to talk about the Alternative Endings as I like to discover them when I first open the box. Figured other people would like the surprise too.
I am planning on buying this expansion and I am going to use the night/day system with my city expansion. As a house rule, you can not enter the city at night because all the stores will be closed. If you are in the city after hours at night on your turn, you must roll a dice before moving and if you get (1) go to jail. If you roll (2-5) you are placed outside the city gate entrance and (6) nothing happens and you stay in the city.
Nice! Like it! Keeping it real. You could add another layer that once a week they have Late Night Opening so you can go into the city and shop! You'd have to keep track what day is it.
+Norman Bailes Fantasic Norman! That's what happened to me. Such fond memories and yoou'll son will love it I'm sure! Welcome back to Talisman. Hope you and your son enjoy the journey...
So i decided to get Blood Moon as my first expansion instead of The Reaper for a few reasons... 1. The Werewolf cannot kill you instantly like the Reaper. 2. I like the day/night cycle. 3. Blood Moon comes with alternative endings but Reaper does not.
wait this game is on playstation 4? my mind is blown o_o.. i kindof wish it was on xbox one too now lol, i play it on steam but I'd love to play it on a console
So I'm going to buy this game and just wondering, can you use both blood moon and reaper expansions at the same time? If so if I roll a 1 on my d6 do I move both wearwolf and grim reaper? Thanks and love your channel
Brad DiMond Thanks Brad - glad you like what we're doing here at The Bottled Imp. Yes, you can play with both expansions at the same time. In both rulebooks for each expansions it states that the Grim Reaper and Werewolf move when a player rolls a '1' for their movement. We play a house rule where whenever a player rolls a '1' for their movement the Grim Reaper moves and if it's a '6' is rolled for a player's movement, the Werewolf is moved. That way it adds a bit more fun!
+The Bottled Imp Thanks for asking this question Brad and thanks once again to the brilliant Bottled Imp, for not only just giving a yes or no answer, but also mentioning a solution :-) BTW, another brilliant video, very professional and your way with explaining the scene as well as the characters, cards and story line, sometimes makes me forget where I am... have you written any books yet, I want one :-)
+Terry Bass Thanks again Terry! Glad you're liking the Talisman reviews and finding them helpful. Well, yes, just about to have a children's illustrated high fantasy book published in June. I'll keep you posted!
Pontus Fredin Thanks Pontus. I bought a base set of paints and a base highlight set of paints from Games Workshop: www.games-workshop.com (you can buy it separately. It's called Citadel Grass). The base set of paints came with glue, sand and grass (fake). I painted the figures first (learned from the book) then painted the base of the figures, then applied a small amount of the glue and dipped into the grass (or sand). Toad! facebook.com/TheBottledImp/photos/pcb.393571897487264/393571694153951/?type=1&theater The book I used to learn the basics: www.amazon.co.uk/Paint-Citadel-Miniatures-Rick-Priestley/dp/1841548715/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1429660025&sr=8-3&keywords=How+to+Paint+Games+Workshop
My pleasure Pontus. A few people have asked about figure painting so we might do a few videos on that. And thanks again for your support and viewing. Any other questions just ask.
+Norman Bailes Yes! If you've enough space. Without any mule or horse and cart, you can carry up to 4 objects - including Magical Objects - so that could be 4 Talismans if you can get them. Some play to get more than one Talisman to prevent others getting hold of one! But then they become targets.
That clears the confusion after today's game. Thanks for the reply. Also as a TOAD can you pick up items that are acquired through drawing a card or do you leave the item on that square.
+Norman Bailes Glad to be off help. Good question about the toad picking up items. In the Fantasy Flight 4th Revised Edition, it doesn't actually say that when you're a toad you can't pick up objects, however, in the 1st and 2nd editions, the rules clearly state that the toad can't. Not sure why the latest edition that didn't clearly put it in the rules. It fit thematically that the toad can't pick up any objects as it wouldn't be able to carry them. Plus you have to drop all your objects when you become a toad. We play it that you can't.
Yes i agree just had a quick look at the toad card and there is NO slot for objects. Thanks so much for the guidance our first game went great considering lol.
+Norman Bailes My pleasure. Glad you had fun playing your first game! You'll get to know the rules better too so things will speed up. Remember to all chant 'toad, toad, toad, toad...' when someone has to roll and could be turned into a toad!
What is the quality of the base game board? It looks like its showing signs of fraying in this video - how old is it/how long have you had it? I had read reviews that the main board is fragile.
@@thebottledimp It most definitely is! My friend had like a Strength 15 and Craft 14, and he got to play the Mutant, he was so lucky on all die rolls when he mutated and I still remember how satisfied we were when he got the Horrible Black Void😂😂
Nice review man. I watched your talisman playlist this afternoon whilst "working". Clean presentation, decent camera, good lighting and clear explanation. Keep it up :)
+Oliver Parker
Thank you Oliver. Glad you like them. As you probably know, there's still more to come!
I just discovered Talisman. I am addicted to this game.
Thanks for the video.
You didn't talk about how this expansion has a co-op ending, that is a HUGE selling point for me
+Zajebex

another top review, I'm off to watch Excalibur review now, I have had it on DVD for ages, love that film.
pezzapoo Good man! Let the wolf in you take over!
still in print as of 2018 thanks to games workshop and coilsprings
I just bought my last missing expansion for it.
The City.
Good Job, keep it up.
Martin.
+Mar Zab
Thanks again Martin!
Great video, thanks!
4:10 no, you cannot fight the Sentinel! How come you own all these expansions yet mess up the rules of the base game??

Just a pronunciation correction. Isn’t the term Lycanthrope not lanthropic?
So Horrible Black Void is the ending what you mention in all of you vids =D ?

All the Lycanthrope cards are the same. That's kind of disappointing.
Otherwise fine little expansion
Nice paints! How do you go about the grass materials?

SirTickleBear Thanks. Glad you liked it.
SirTickleBear Once again, thank you for watching. We'll be posting more Talsiman expansions soon. Keep watching!
No problem :) In enjoy talisman and think it is a great game :)
SirTickleBear Cool. We're just about to embark on a mammoth game! All the expansions bar 2!
is the same for thw digital version?

+Gurubu Gaming
Main board is fairly strong. Obviously look after it though. I've had my copy for about 6 years now.
Can you use the adventure cards without switching on the werewolf day/night mechanics?
Man, The Horrible Black Void screwed me over so many timea !!!
Same here! Although it is satisfying if it happens to other players!
@@thebottledimp It most definitely is!

All's equal to those who fall to their doom in the Horrible Black Void!
I've been playing on PC. What board game would you suggest to start with?
