So your videos did cause me to buy EVERYTHING for 4th edition Talisman and now I live in a cardboard box under a bridge. But I do regenerate up to 6 health now so... not so bad! ;-)
Talisman is our favourite word game! My kids and I play it often, and love it. We own all the expansions, but have never played any of them yet, beyond the base game. Thanks to your awesome video, we're going to play it tonight, adding The Reaper expansion pack! Love your video! Keep up the great work.
you are my number 1 when looking for Talisman info. I picked up The Black Industries version a whole back for a whopping 2 dollars. Introduced a few of my friends. Now we are all hooked. looking to upgrade to the new edition and probably grab an expansion pack or two. thanks for the awesome videos.
+Zack Gabbert Thanks Zack - very kind. Yes, Talisman has a way of hooking you in and not letting go. We've still got a fair few expansions to review! Will it ever end?
Many thanks for your crystal clear reply as always mate, I'm filling my head up with all this brilliant info, suggestions and excellent reviews that you keep supplying, any luck with the paying subscription yet mate 😊
+Terry Bass Catching up with comments! Thanks again Terry. Well, 2 options we think might be best to start with. One is a 'Donate' button on our webste and the other is to set up a page on the donation webstie Patreon that is a crowdfunding webstie for artists and creators.

Krest Thanks Krest. Glad you're enjoying our Imp videos. We certainly enjoy making them! Let us know if there's any fantasy book, film or board game you'd like to see us review.
Hello and good morning 😊 I won't go away you know that don't you 😆Question regarding the Grim Reaper, can he ONLY move around the outer, middle and inner regions, or can he venture into any of the expansion regions as well.We did take him into a couple, but as he only moves on a 1, it just seemed a bit pointless as he got left behind in there.Mind you regarding rolling 5 X 1's in just over an hour the other night, as well as the fact that Talisman is a "roll play" game, you never know what's lerking around the corner I guess 👀Many thanks Ken, kind regards and don't work to hard,Terry
+Terry Bass Good morning to you to! Lol, that's fine. Always good to chat Talisman. The Reaper can move into any region but NOT the Inner region as he's already there on the space 'Dicing with Death'. So any region apart from the Inner region includes all the expansion corner boards. Players may wish to move Death into the corner boards to get him away from themselves rather than closer to other players too. Yes, that's the luck of the die! Hope that helps. The Dragon Expansion review is posted now!
Hi Ken it's Terry, how ya doing mate :-) Like all your videos, this is just another brilliant addition to our arsenal of information thanks to you :-) Ken, as I mentioned yesterday, I was going to buy The Reaper after my holiday, but I've just ordered it now along with The City and The Highlands, yes I know what I said, but Talisman is seriously taking over my life :-)) A question for you mate, you mention rolling a 1 for The Reaper, but how does that effect the Toad, is The Toad replaced by The Reaper (you know how prone my daughter and myself are for rolling a 1 don't you :-)) I haven't mentioned it before, but I have to say that the art work that goes into these cards and boards, is absolutely brilliant and just that alone is the perfect reason to buy them. Ken, great talking as always, catch up soon :-) Terry
+Terry Bass Hi Terry, aww, thanks for your kind words and support. Lol, yep, Talisman can do that to you! Rolling one for The Reaper doesn't effect the roll for the Toad at all. The Reaper comes into effect when a player rolls a 1 for their movement. So a player rolls for their movement and if it's a 1 then the player rolls for the Reaper AFTER taking their turn (roll for movement, take turn, roll for Reaper, move Reaper, if Reaper lands on a character then resolve the Reaper chart by rolling a die, if Reaper didn't land on a character then Reaper has no effect). If Reaper lands on a character who is a toad then they still roll a die for the Reaper chart and take the effect. Hope that's clear. Yes, absolutely love the artwork on Talisman. Really creates the atmosphere for the game. Enjoy your new expansions and let me know how you get on with them. Cheers, Ken
Hi mate and my head is brain dead. I thought a character changed into a toad evertime he/she rolled a 1 for movement and now I have noticed that you can only be turned into a toad, if you roll a 1 on the City corner square. Now I understand my own question, with the greatfull added help from yourself. Also Christmas has come early today :-)) as the Reaper, City and Highland just happened to get delivered to my house by mistake... not sure what happened there :-)) but my granddaughter (Crystal) and my daughter (Vicky) have been playing me all day and we have included the Reaper (Brilliant addition to the board). But they kept forgetting to wake him up at the end of their turns, whilst rolling a 1, but when they did remember, he went from staring me out with he's evil eyes, back to them and with another 1... well Crystal frowned and Vicky said noooooooooo :-)) and yes, we have the (it's youuuuuu) spot on. Were in SE London and Crystal is watching Snow White on the box now (not sure where you are), but now the Highland board is all set up and the Reaper is awaiting in the midst of fog, but when he appears from the clearing, he won't frighten me, he will get what's coming to him :-) Towards the end of the week, the other expansions will start to come together and I'll update you on our travels. Ken, thanks again for all your help and I hope the acting department is treating you kindly and you're not working to hard. Speak soon mate, Terry
+Terry Bass Ah, I see why it got confusing for you now! Yes, you can only be turned into a toad when you are rolling on any chart that has toad in it's outcome. There are a few spells that have that on it too as well as the City corner square. Always a good idea to hang onto 1 Fate token! Lol, very kind of Santa. Must be getting his work done early! Yes, The Reaper is a lot of fun. And yes, we stop playing Take Backs now as we all should remember to move Death. We're based in Hertfordshire. Yes, let me know how your epic Talisman game. Be prepared for a full day of gaming fun!
I don't want more..... I want EVERYTHING!!! :) I've got everything from the FFG-branded series of expansions, but if new expansions distributed by the new company GW works with, and they are fully compatible (that is not noticing any differences in card size, material and style), then of course I want even more of them. Promos are the only thing I don't have for Talisman. Last Sunday I played my very first game with the physical version. The Grim Reaper was included; without the rest of the expansion, though. Maybe I should have included the cards from the expansion as well, but I doubt that they would influence the Grim Reaper itself that much. It hasn't even attacked any player once. And uhhh..... where can I get that Golf? :) I can't drive, so I'd give it to someone else (I'm visually impaired, that's why).
The Grim Reaper starts the game at the Graveyard and then gets moved to other spaces throughout the game. So if he's moved off the Graveyard to space, he starts from that new space if he is moved again.
Pegasus Spiele (the new Talisman publisher) had a 25% discount last week on all their products, I bought all the remaining expansions (I already own the base game, Dragon, Bloodmoon, City, Woodland & Harbinger). They still have a 15% promotion going on right now. For comparison the Harbinger is currently €16.96 (free delivery on orders over €200). IMO the Harbinger is most fun when you're playing with as many of the corner expansions as possible like the City, Woodlands, Dungeon and Highlands. Even if you find that you don't like the Harbinger, you can still use the new playable characters with the base game. The one thing I love about the physical version vs digital edition besides the atmosphere, is that you can customise the game to your gaming circle's preferences.
@@thebottledimp I love your videos BTW, they helped with deciding whether the physical edition was worth it! You're clearly a fan and not a shill like some of the saccharin sweet reviews of the Batman & Kingdom Hearts versions. Well done on your minis BTW, I'll be leaving mine grey out of a lack of talent. Have you heard the Talisman Digital Edition Original Soundtrack by Mattias Westlund? I bought the digital edition so it comes with the games files, so I have it on shuffle when playing with our group, it adds a lot of immersion. Another house rule that I like is owning a Talisman mandatory for staying on the Crown of Command.
Thanks Zafaranama. Glad you like what we do. Yeah, not sure about the different branded versions of Talisman. I can understand why they've done it but they don't really appeal to me. I've played the digital edition and like the music. Very atmospheric. I play Skyrim, Lord of the Rings, or Game of Thrones, whilst playing the board game. Yes, there are a few ways to win without getting a Talisman by bypassing the Valley of Fire.
Doug E HI Doug, Yes, I've got them both and enjoy playing with those. I'll be doing a review of them at some point. I decided to concentrate on the 'biggie' expansions first. Those are the corner board expansions. I've got The Woodland and The Dragon of the biggies left them I'll be reviewing the smaller ones.
And what happens to the reaper once he finish its turn? He stay and wait until any other player rolls 1? Or it's controlled every turn for the same player until another player rolls 1?
@@thebottledimp I have one more question about the rules. If you defeat non-carded enemy, let's say Dragon from the cave (adventure card roll) or Farmer from the Tavern, are they counted as trophies and can be exchanged to strenght/craft?
No, non-card Enemies do not count as part of trophies. Only cards can be taken as trophies. Obviously if you want to speed the game up, you could make it a House Rule that non-carded ones do count.
Hey if im ritch and i can buy all the expansions at the same time, do you think that it would be better for me to open expansions one by one with interval anyway? Or maybe it would be better to benefit all the expansions at once
stefan stradowski Hi Stefan, thanks for watching. Good question. Well, there are now 12 expansions! So my guess would be it'll be overwhelming. The expansions fall into 2 categories - big and mini. The four big ones are: The Dungeon, The Highland, The Dragon, and The Woodlands. These have corner boards that fit snugly next to the base board. They also have new characters, spell and adventure cards as well as their own themed cards plus new alternative ending cards. The mini expansions are less complicated. So it might be worth getting a few of the mini ones then a big one (The City is possible a good one as it adds shops so is adds different feel to the game) to see how you get on. Then go for it and get the rest! (Minis one: The Reaper, The Frostmarch, The Sacred Pool, The Blood Moon, The Nether Realm, The Firelands, and The Deep Realm (this one requires The Dungeon and The City). Hope that helps! Next Imp review is The Blood Moon. We'll be reviewing all expansions in due course. Stay tuned!

Hello and Thank you for thies Review :
so when a player rolls a 1 what space does the grim reaper start at there is no location on the card like the normal people cards
The Grim Reaper starts the game at the Graveyard and then gets moved to other spaces throughout the game. So if he's moved off the Graveyard to space, he starts from that new space if he is moved again.
