Kobe was already dealing with a lot of injuries and then sprained his ankle near the end of the 1st round. The Lakers chemistry also went to shit in the final month of the regular season, and they looked bad in the 1st round even though they won it ultimately.

I feel after 2 championships won the other players got mentally drained and it took a toll on them throughout that season which could a factor as to why they couldn’t get into another gear for another deep playoff run
