How did Kobe not get MVP this season. Played all 82 games. Played through injury. 1st team all NBA, 1st team all defense. Led the Lakers to 60 plus wins for the season.
He definitely had a great case. But it was hard to argue against LeBron when led a very subpar team to the best record, with no all-nba caliber teammate and great stats. Kobe definitely showed by the end of the postseason that he was the best player in the world, but as far as regular season was concerned it was hard to argue against LeBron for MVP.
You could tell Kobe was on a mission since the final buzzer of Game 6 against the Celtics, through the olympics and the entire 08-09 season. He was in ultra killer mode.
Between the 08 Finals, The Olympics and the the start of the 09 season, he only had like 2 months worth of rest. And he played all 82 games of the season plus playoffs. Mamba on a mission
Dude can do everything. Deepest bag of all time and best player ever right here besides Jordan. Miss you so much, Kobe!! Life is not the same without you here :(
Watching this brings back so many memories of why Kobe was, and still is, an icon in the world of basketball. His legacy lives on through his incredible performances, and this video is a beautiful tribute to one of the greatest seasons of his career. Thank you for this masterpiece!"
Can't believe we got Kobe, Lebron, KD and Steph in the same league. At least for one year in 2013 they were all fun to watch and all of them could be in the top 10 when all is said and done.
He was slimmer, more fiery, used every move he had in his arsenal, and celebrated with passion from time to time in 07-08 But after the loss, and winning the Olympics He approached 08-09 with a more zen, seasoned approach, no celebration, cold mamba mentality, conserving energy, no flashy dunks unless he chose to, but ultra crafty handles and footwork, positioning, finishing around the rim. I think he gained muscle for this season aswell, and started approaching the game like chess. Wanted to get back to the finals, didn’t care what it looked like Also Gasol developed a consistent jumper that made the triangle offense even more unstoppable. Derek Fisher brought the veteran presence and composure. Trevor Ariza made huge improvements, developed a consistent three ball and hustled for the ball any chance he got. Lamar kept doing his thing, making the extra passes, rebounding, athletic ability/length to finish at the rim Jordan Farmar made big time shots as a role player with talent Shannon Brown emerged as a highlight film guy and had some shot making ability Sasha Vujacic was streaky but was capable of big time shots Andrew Bynum was injured all season, but was phenomenal in the prior seasons, he was resorted to a defensive presence in the rim, didn’t get to showcase his offensive talent this season Guys like Ronny Turiaf and Radmonovic were great fits for the team too, but they went to other teams so that ariza, farmar and brown had room to step up
People forget the defenders Kobe had to go up against in the 1st 2 rounds of this 09 playoff alone. He had to deal with Kirilenko and Ronny Brewer in the 1st round , Shane Battier and Ron Artest in the 2nd round. Kobe went up against all-league level defenders and some of the best perimeter defenders of there era, for most of his career.

Yea definitely. This kobe was even better than the next yr's kobe.
He knew the Lakers were gonna be in the finals again. He had figured out something the rest of league at the time hadn't.
Between the 08 Finals, The Olympics and the the start of the 09 season, he only had like 2 months worth of rest. And he played all 82 games of the season plus playoffs. Mamba on a mission
his foot never came off the gas pedal. he was out for blood. the scariest player ever. he was a killer on the court.
Kobe was basically a magician on the court regardless of what opposition he faced.
Dude can do everything. Deepest bag of all time and best player ever right here besides Jordan. Miss you so much, Kobe!! Life is not the same without you here :(
Fk Jordan kobes better
Kobe's game was so smooth.Nostalgia at it's best watching these videos they are appreciated
I think kobe should've won mvp this season too. Was still best player in the nba with team with best record in the west.
You Kobe should have been MVP 06 03 07-08-09-10
Kobe Bryant was a straight assasin on the court. He kept coming at you and he was legendary.
Doesn’t get enough credit for his overall offensive versatility, he’s like a wide receiver that can line up anywhere
Kobe was on another level of demon timing this season!!!!
