I don't know why, but getting a bandit kill right now feels really good 👌🏽 It's a little sad that the weapon isn't available in the campaign or that there is not a variant.
Not quite sure how I feel about the Bandit. Art/Sound is 10/10, but it's got a narrow place in the sandbox. The Bandit feels like a human equivalent of the Pulse Carbine; Really good in a very specific window of mid range, but weak at short or long. As much fun as it feels to shoot, I'll still take an AR/Sidekick at close range or BR/Commando for longer range. Honestly I think it would be a great starting weapon. Bandit/Sidekick is a fun combo.
I agree. I get merked if I run around the corner and there's a gut with an AR. I try to start popping shots but I just get shredded. Then I see a guy at the end of the hall and wr both start strafing but if they have a br their landing consistent shots whereas I miss one or two because the zoom isn't as good and there's more recoil. It's a satisfying gun to get a kill with though.
Bandit is inaccurate but it's still good. Difference with DMR is that the Bandit is meant for mid-range and not long range. Unless 343 added the option to add a scope back.
But its not inaccurate it just suffers from a really bad reticle for its shots. It's more accurate than the DMR and when I get the reticle right I haven't missed. Issue is the reticle is way too big. Like imo the pistol in infinite too given how well its shots land, and how it uses the CE headshot detection where you either have to be exact or only on the head instead of moderately on the head but not centered like older games. As in if your reticle is red and touching the head it won't always hit the head in infinite like with the magnum in ce. Aiming with the bottom cradling the chin works best. Issue is with how big the reticle is, in combat you either have to train yourself to ignore the rest because it's awful or focus on the small portion in the middle. Honestly I hope they either go to the way headshots were done after CE or they fix the reticles to be better for the guns you use. (Also speaking of reticles can I just say how amazing the AR reticle is in all of the games. I love how the circle is for the max spread and the crosshairs are within and spread out as the bloom expands. Going to games like say gundam evolution I'm sad that there isn't an option to have the crosshairs inside the circle instead of outside. They really aren't that useful aside from keeping level with heads and even then it being inside would be good still)
While I still would’ve preferred something like the Plasma Rifle or Brute Shot to be the new weapon (please bring back the BS, you can’t just not do that when bringing the Brute’s back without their arguable trademark weapon), I gotta say the DMR “Bandit” is a lot better than I initially gave it credit for.
