Genuine question . Why are you in Camo and wear the RED safety vest for id for other hunters ? The safety vest covers your Camo , rendering it u/s . You may as well be in a red suite if the bears cannot see red . I watch wildlife in Camo for a hobby .

Did you have someone do some advanced scouting to determine that bear were present in that area? Seems like an awfully long way to go without being sure that your target was in the vicinity. What caliber were you using?

Sorry , but unless their old or injured and you need to eat , I cannot see the need to kill for fun "sport". . I would have far preferred the bear to drop dead on the spot , than trotted off , hopefully fatally wounded . I watch these for educational purposes .
