  • Probably already have a video on one of these dewalts saws, but here's another.
    This js a very common problem now for the dewalt flexvolt saw.
    But in fairness, if this is the biggest complaint, it's not doing too bad.
    Bearing can fail in any machine, and at least bearings can be replaced.
    Haven't had many of these in, that could not be fixed. The majority have been for this problem here. Top bearing failure.
    1 6002 bearing is all that is needed, along with some gear grease, to get one of these dewalt saws running again.
    Only thing to note is, the saw needs to be still running for this to work. If the bearing has totally failed and the motor will not startup or try rotat, the the motor is more than likely burnt out.
    But if the motor still runs, this one bearing will sort it out.

    Just the skill and knowledge to chuck all the screws and stuff in one pile and know where it all goes 😂

      I love how he just throws all the screws\parts down on the workbench! After doing this a couple dozen times you know where & how the stuff goes back together. Worst case you have to look up a parts list blow-up schematic diagram or watch the video.😄🤔👍👌⚡🔌⚠️🔧🔋🚧🛠️📏🗜️🤷‍♂️

      Even if I could get it running, pretty sure I would end up with some bonus parts.

    Another great job! This reminds me of the tools I repair for a company that mines lime. I swear that they just throw the tools in the back of the truck and forget them. I have to blow them out with an air tool like Dean and they are normally bone dry from grease and sometimes rusting on the armatures. Easy money!

    People always seem amazed that repair costs are parts and labor always reluctant to pay for that knowledge.
    I thought the price was more than fair and expected it would have been about $100 US (92 Euro)
    Great video.

    The good thing I admire about your work is that you know what goes where , I will be too much disturbed if I forget any missing screws .

    I had a Skil Saw with a Magnesium base plate - rather stupidly I left it on my Welding table, which is mild steel, for two weeks while I was on holiday. When I returned - the base plate was so badly pitted around the edges that it was virtually unusable. I'd never given any thought to Galvanic reactions and was stunned by just how little time it had taken.

    I always remove the seal on both sides of a new bearing and add more grease, then replace the seals. The bearing will last a bit longer. Love your work. I don't know if you are self taught repairing all different types of machine hand tools. I think you may have worked in a power tool assembly factory at one point.

    €45 very good price. Question how do the brakes work on those machines? I have the baby version (18v) I am guessing the break is the same

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  9 місяців тому +8

      there is no actual brake, its the brushless motor that stops the blade rapidly. its an electronic brake. The motor actualy repels the rotor magnets in the opposite direction to slow the blade faster.

  • @gatdelporco
    @gatdelporco 5 місяців тому +1

    Are sealed bearing (rubber seal) ok on high-rpm application? I remember checking the specs of a sealed bearing and it was ok only up to 3K rpm (shielded bearing - metal shield - go much higher)

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  5 місяців тому

      yes shielded bearing can run faster. but for tools, exposed to dirt, rubber sealed bearing are more suitable over speed.
