A heavily underrated motorbike. The old GSX-S was dated but had a brilliant engine. Now, it's a total reboot across the board & looks real good. As a naked, it merits serious attention. Serious attention. So good to see Suzuki stepping up.
I actually like the headlights. It's original. Kinda looks like what I had in mind design wise a few years back

Depending on what Yamaha has up their sleeves with their new R world release coming soon this might be my new top shopping list for my 2nd bike! This Suzuki looks amazing especially in that gray and blue.
I agree the bike looks so much appealing especially the blacked out version. I hope Suzuki could upgrade the SV650 electronics at least if no changes are made to styling or engine.

Love the new design. The new headlight arrangement is unexpected and refreshing. Would have liked a new motor and frame to go with it but its Suzuki so any improvement in technology is appreciated. Dont mind the older technology dash if it keeps the price down. I think its a better looking bike than the MT09 by far but still looking for an MT09SP when they finally cross the pond.

Could've had a similar hexagonal shaped side mirrors like the ones on the old Kawasaki Z300 but all in all I think Suzuki with the new Busa and GSXS they're gonna start getting back with popularity

Looks great, big improvement as the looks are the number one reason this bike has been left off my next bike list.
The headlight overall shape reminds me of the S1000R but on here, it seems to work with the aesthetic. I don’t really care for the “urban camo” trim pieces but I do have to give Suzuki props for trying something completely new here to add a bit more to the design versus just more painted parts.

600’s are just too small for me and liter bikes are good fun but using them on public roads is like trying to hold back the tide with a broom. Sooner or later(sooner) I’m going to take a ripper down the interstate and eventually I know I’ll get clipped.

A lovely looking Suzuki (finally). Not the grey one obviously but the other two are spot on.
Needs the F model wind protection to complete the looks and function, it is a 100% buy then IMO
Low-RPM assist... If you need that on a 1000cc motorcycle you probably shouldn't be riding one ;)

I was looking for seat height and weight! Did I miss it, or did you skip it?
With new emissions standards I bet a lot hp left on the table with ecu tuning and freeing up the air and exhaust flow. The last model tuned do 156 whp with a tune and full exhaust so can see 160whp from the 2022 tuned with bolt ons. Very excited and hopefully be under 13k USD.

As long as you are not a track day junkie this is all the bike you need to have fun on the road and some. And the proce is still what one call approachable for a new motorcye with 1000cc.
I prefer the Katana. Too much transformer vibes coming out of this one. Top notch video as always ✌️

Thanks Bob. The best insight view and opinion I’ve watched on this bike to date. I was extremely disappointed with the updates and looks of this bike. I thought they could’ve done more. However Suzuki being Suzuki, they didn’t. Which in part is a good thing. That old K5 based engine is rock solid! I was lucky enough to be at Phillip Island for the factory WSB pre-season testing when it was first released. It was “unofficially” lapping consistently faster than any of the MotoGP bikes at the time. With Euro5 emissions I knew that it would end up with a slight reduction in peak torque and that subsequently they’d need to raise the RPM limits to achieve the same power. Just simple maths really. I wasn’t a fan of the looks, still aren’t to a degree as to me it looks like someone from Kiska and Katana had a one night stand and this is the end result. Only time will tell and to be able to see it in the flesh will ultimately hopefully tell a different story... 👍😎🇦🇺

I’m not gonna lie... even tho I’m an V-Twin man I would sell both my bikes for this motorcycle! I love everything about it so far, it ticks all the boxes for comfort,Commuting and POWER! I work at a KTM/Aprilia dealer and sure these bikes are cool too but Japan always has my heart deep down👌🏾🇯🇵
Honestly, since it's not fully ride-by-wire, would it have been that much trouble to install a cruise control? 1's and 0's and a switch on the handlebar?
Pretty awesome bike overall. Maybe all my screaming and whining about fuel capacity finally reached someone in Japan. The bigger tank is a big plus in my book. Yamaha are you listening?!
Wondering if Suzuki have changed gear ratios in the transmission. They were ridiculous before, with one of the tallest 1st gears on any motorcycle, and a 6th gear that was too short. Gears 2 through 5 all jammed close together.
I wish they give you option on how high the handlebar goes, this handlebar looks low resulting in leaning forward and putting pressure on handlebar.

I guess designing a good looking headlight is a thing of the past. Did they pay the guy who designed the MT-09 to do this bike as well? Geez.

Looks a bit KTM- ish with those sharp angles. I don't like the headlights or that front indicator setup at all. Great value bike though but I much prefer the look of the 2021 Honda CB1000R. I wonder if you and Rarefied could test this against the new CB1000R. It would make for an interesting video.

Agree. Transformerish like the MT10. But man disappointed in performance specs. Down on torque up in weight. Was hoping for a real grunter here with 180hp and 110ft-lb. 🙄

Have you seen the rumor on the 2022(or 23) GSX S1000T? Suzuki does not get the same agressive rumor chasing as some of the others, but word has it the GSX S1000F will get a rework with this model change as a T (touring) model. The new 1000S is a 2022 in the US, so I suspect a faring version would get here in 23 while Europe may get it early next year.

ouch.. i did that back in 06 with a monster s2r then found out a month later the s2r was getting a bump from 800-1000 cc.. still loved that bike and at the end of the day bigger isnt always better. I was just in the mtns on my s1000 and it was a bit too powerful. I was wishing for less displacement. Hopefully this adds a bit of perspective.

Yea it’s honestly a really awesome bike. After a couple weeks with it though I still feel like I want more power tbh. I have a Suzuki dr-650, Suzuki gsxs-750 and now I think I want a 1000cc to finish the collection.
I have the 2019 750 it has plenty for the road...

@@williamrae9954 yeah but not more than the increased petrol tank. 17l to 19l. Almost 18% bigger kapacity. You have not 18% more fuelconsumtion. Well under 10% more fuelconsumtion wich means longer range.
So weight is up. Torque is down. And fuel consumption is worse. It looks better. But that’s not enough for me.

150hp 78ft lbs of torque. Torque is down slightly but they showed a dyno compared to the last gen and it’s waaaaaay more linear.

Serious? I think it makes the MT look worse! The headlight is too high... at least this flows from the bodywork into the lines of the headlight nacelle. Personal taste tho! :)
