      And the X2 Dev Group Jackal X is a great charging handle. 7075 aluminum and unique design. I got a couple for $20 from Delta Team Tactical. They're $40 now, but still worth it imo. They're only that cheap because X2 sucks at advertising.

    Mircobest is your best bet for a budget friendly, but well made BCG. They're OEM for Daniel Defense, SOLGW, and BCM. ARFTAC has a few options in stock.

    Okay the myth about chrome lining being superior to nitride for bores is exactly that- a boomer fudd myth. Either of the two finishes have a very similar life expectancy, as long as it’s a 4150 CMV barrel that isn’t properly tested and stress relieved. The gents at Sons of Liberty Gun Works have a great video talking about that. If I was building a machine gun, I would rather a nitride bore HBAR than a chrome lines Gov profile, absolutely no question.

    For red dots, Sig Sauer 4T pro can be found on GAFS sub 500. Best price to performance red dot. Has NV capabilities, reticle features, 7075 aluminum, T-2 footprint, and uses the same CR2032 as a T-2.

    Carbine gas with a .061-.063" port have excellent gassing and recoil impulse in 14.5" length. At 16" it's still fine. People think they need something else but the carbine gas 14.5-16 inch barrels will be more reliable than most others.

    For the gas block you're right about the FC GB...BUT if you're doing a Griffin muzzle device I assume you intend to suppress in which case wouldn't the RifleSpeed have been a "buy once cry once" perhaps better GB rather than buying an FC GB then if ya don't get good gas MGMT and buying a RS GB and wasted the money buying something else FIRST?

    A bear creek and Strike Industries hater? Good thing PSA wasn't thrown in there 😂. You'd be down to real gun guys looking for real gun guy things. I'm by no means wealthy, but to me, relying on brands with questionable QC or lack of it entirely is throwing money away. My Grandfather always said that poor people can't afford to buy junk. He was right, i cant afford to waste money on sub par products when im trying to achieve par result's. It's mind bottling that people can come to drastically different opinions from the same set of facts. Great video as always 👍

    Nah, the PST gen 2 is way too expensive for what it is in 2024. The Primary Arms slx acss nova 1-6 is super, super similar. Vortex glass is a bit better but not enough to justify a $300 difference and the vortex is quite a bit heavier. The ACSSS nova made me sell my pst. Vortex needs to hurry up and release a gen 3 pst. It's time for a refresh to the viper lineup.
    I guess just get a Sig 4xt or something. You could've done a lot better than that barrel by getting something over the 4th of July weekend. Barrel should be the last part to cheap out on imo. Here is a concept the community needs to grasp better. There are budget builds and there are impulsive builds. Budget wisely and wait for good deals and you can build a really, really solid setup for not a lot of money. Some of the "premium" companies are basically begging people to buy their merchandise because 1) there is no war involving US troops right now so the military isn't buying like they were during the GWOT and 2) The summer of love was 4 years ago and due to inflation the only people buying lots of guns are people like us and we enthusiasts are the minority unfortunately. most people buy a PSA 16" freedom upper and unironically believe it is justasgood as a Geissele super duty.

    • @shootintheshtpodcast
      @shootintheshtpodcast  3 місяці тому

      Believe me, I know I could’ve done better when it comes to the barrel. But I wanted to see how good a “cheap” barrel is. I literally dug into the bottom of the barrel just above BCA and wanted to see how it is.
      When it comes to LPVOs. I honestly hate even touching the subject. It’s a whole pond of poo with some floaters. It doesn’t seem at all appealing, and I think I might try the ACSS aurora or whatever it is. I’ll have a community post out next week on what to pick up in terms of LPVOs and we will see what happens.
