It's an awesome song, love to see them back, I have listened the song for at least 20 times BUT, for the old school In FLames fans, the drums from Daniel are a bit "missing" ?
I'm still stuck in the The Jaster Race, Colony, Clayman and Whoracle era of in flames never really got into their other stuff but these new singles are absolute bangers
@@gotchaya lunar strain was the foundation of inflames and it's was okay (mikeal did awesome vocal on it), but jester race better than lunar strain... miles ahead
My fav album is either Clayman or Sounds of a Playground Fading. WTDSD and Deliver Us are probably in the top 5 of my favorite songs from them so it definitely helps boost that album up for me
For me, In Flames is just one of those bands, I'll listen to and likely enjoy anything they make. The only song I can remember not instantly loving was Alias, and even that has grown on me with time. I have had the pleasure of seeing them a few times live, and even met them a few years ago, they are great guys, talented musicians and I always look forward to their new material. It will be a sad day when they decide to stop making music for one reason or another. One of probably 3 bands I would get really emotional over a breakup, along with Slipknot and Opeth.
I’m about where you’re at - there are some I’ll skip if I’m not in the mood, but will listen to next time. For me, however, it was “(This is) our house” - total ass.
I've been a hardcore In Flames fans since seeing them win a Grammy in Sweden in the winter of 08/09. I actually think the softer stuff makes them so much better live. The ability to mix it up live makes their shows so much more memorable.
It was humbling seeing Opeth this year compared to when I saw them 6 years ago. Mikael’s vocal chords sure have gone over time from growling, and what we hear on Opeth’s timeless records is no longer something that can be fully experienced in concert. More of a reason, I’m my opinion, to appreciate art for what it is when listening to these great bands
@@IrlylikeInFlames in 2009 when we on warped together and he was drumming for scary kids, he got asked to drum for underoath for 2 weeks because Aaron had contracted swine flu. Underoath was his favorite band at the time and it was so cool to see him just crush the drums for them and especially in his hometown of San Diego. I was roommates with his brother also who is now a model I’ve seen published in GQ and whatnot haha what a family. Great folks, spent the day with their family once and it definitely runs in the genes.
I like how they're taking the best bits of their material across their catalog with this album. As much as I like old In Flames, they have some solid ideas from their newer stuff that's not fully realized. This album's fully realized.
I am so glad they bringing the heavy back and as much as I have always loved Anders vocals, you can definitely tell they have improved a lot over time. If I recall correctly, Anders took singing lessons before the last album and while that album was still in the soft territory, the heavier approach here definitely allows him to go harder and it sounds great. And even though Jesper is no longer in the band, I'm glad to hear they have brought back the Reroute To Remain/Come Clarity/A Sense Of Purpose melodic solos and ambience.
I love guitar harmonies. There are a few bands from late 90’s early 2000’s that I felt did it well. In Flames, Caliban, Undying, A Prayer For Cleansing, At the Gates, Arkangel (the hardcore/metalcore band) to name a few. I’m glad to see you appreciate harmonies as well.
It's also a real pro move that literally the old in flames members are doing a new band called "the halo effect" and they sound basically like an modern evolved version of in flames that just kept going after clayman and throw in a bit of dark tranquility in there too... They're awesome! But I think I'm mostly happy that Jesper is back playing guitar. It warms my heart to see him getting together with old friends and is doing work on getting better from depression and alcohol.
My first album i ever bought on cd was Reroute to Remain and me and my brother listened to it religiously. This brings me back to those days. This is a blessing from them. Reroute to their Roots
Go see them live .so humble so greatful they are Very few special bands can play a full set live with everyone in the audience singing each and every word of each and every song played . 🤘
I have this song as my ringtone, I fucking love this song. I already pre-ordered the album , I can`t wait to hear it , it will be awesome. I have all of their albums.
Come Clarity is my favorite album out of all of their album! I'm loving their new singles so far! I hope it carries through the whole album. Otherwise I'll be disappointed...
YAAAAAASSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bro I've been listening to In Flames since Colony dropped. Probably the 2nd biggest influence on me musically outside of Metallica. I lived on Jester through Clayman for like a decade. Hearing this make my entire week \m/ \m/ \m/
I think its like older Inflames, and a step in the right direction. I dont its exactly like reroute to remember style, because those songs in that era usually had a catchy chorus with cleaner lyrics inbetween the crunch.
Dude they’ve always took a good, no the RIGHT DIRECTION. The music is literally the same style they’ve been using for 30 years. Saw them at Dalhalla Brinner and they played this, great live track! Woulndt say old in flames are back since they have changed direction so many times. Been a true fan from the gecko and I love the earliest, lunar strain, Jester race etc and their 2000 era, clayman, soundtrack to your escape, come clarity and sounds of a playground fading is a masterpiece where you hear Björn having full freedom to write as the only guitar player in the band. And they have many good songs on the newer albums too. So I would say they just evolved their sound again but taking in some older influences.
I just can’t help myself to think, that once the Needles End EP by the Halo Effect was released, In Flames just went back to their roots, because like 4/5 of the original band were playing songs more in the style of In Flames, than In Flames themselves 😂
I'm glad what I tried to do by typing "IIIIIIN FLAAAMES" in chat at 6:45 directly translated in your mind. Also a great song, longer solo would not have hurt.
State of slow decay was better in my opinion, but this is banger. In flames is probably my favorite band ever so I do love the throw back feel, I think this would have been a good song on the whoracle album
i absolutely agree, state of slow decay is one the best songs they've ever released IMO, and I still listen to it 3-4 time a day. It's definitely better than great deciever, but two old school style songs in a row pretty much confirms that the next album will be spectacular.
In Flames does have a song called In Flames. Listen to Lunar Strain. Their first studio album before Anders joined, left Dark Tranquility and switched (literally with IF original vocalist) to In Flames.

I love that both former and current members of In Flames are going back to that early 2000s Gothenburg sound. I couldn't be happier.
I still say a Anders is the master of the fry-style scream. He manages to sound so... desperate and just at wits end. Love it.
Austin Carlile had a similar feel especially on the flood album
