Its like comparing DiCaprio or fuckin Brad Pitt to Troy Baker, and even then Troy Baker is a much more famous VA in the West than Takaya Kuroda is in Japan.

Yakuza is slowly creeping into my top 5 franchises of all time. I am really glad this spin off has the same fun an "magic" of the core series. Thank you so much for this spotlight on this specifically now i can get it next month.

Phenomenal game, love the Yakuza games. After Yakuza 6, I was wondering what's next. I'm only in chapter 3 and I'm close to already 20 hours in of just playing the game and really enjoying it; loving side quests, darts, Sega arcades, making friends with NPCs, and a lot more! Also, a great game to pick up for anyone who hasn't played yakuza games yet.
Jonathan Robinson I’m in chapter 4 and have played for about 23 hours. Loving everything about the game. Even the tailing missions aren’t that bad (definitely better than chapter 3 in MGS4).

Just beat the game it was fantastic. Loved the story and the characters and like all the games in Yakuza universe before it great side stories. Also love seeing how the the city changed from the first Yakuza 1 which took place in 2005 all the way to Judgement in 2018 or 2019. The studio does a great job of showing how the city changes yet stays the same through all the games.

The flair is like the Yakuza games, the feel is a more fluid yakuza with detective elements. Somehow every Yakuza reuses assets heavily, yet the games always feel unique.
Judgment is an absolutely amazing game so I can't wait till we get a sequel. Definitely my game of 2019 along with MK11. I would love to see a Yakuza game where both Yakuza and Judgment characters share a same game together. How badass would it be if Kiryu, Majima, Yagami, Kaito etc all are in the same game? I'd definitely buy it day one if they ever made a game merging Yakuza and Judgment characters.

Nick Rios Funny, but there are about a hundred ways that it's not possible. They both have drastically different ways of speaking, annunciating and their vocal patterns are different too. Most obvious though is how they each articulate things, Falcon is casual and relies on common emphasis, Jake is formal with a touch of casual and relies on explanation or elaboration.

I’ve never played a Yakuza game before but I always meant to since I’ve heard good things about it. This game reminds me of Shenmue though, walking around a big open world while investigating, talking to people, fighting, qte’s, playing old Sega games but modern of course.
Never played a Yakuza Game and I regret it after playing Judgment. This game is a masterpiece and should get more attention. Although im not a fan of a arcade like games but still this one makes up for it with the story !

Love the entire series! Like a Dragon and Ishin after Lost Judgment. Will be a sad day when I run out of Yakuza games. Maybe Yakuza 8 will be released then!

Not sure if someone already commented here but just to add the main protagonist in this game was modeled after famous Japanese actor and member of Jpop band Smap, Takuya Kimura. I believe the voice as well. So the protagonist is literally portrayed by Takuya Kimura.
I’ve never played any Yakuza games, so this is my first entry into the franchise. I picked it up last night and got a chance to play the first few hours. I will say I did expect the combat to have a little more impact to it from the footage I’ve seen, but it’s damn fun regardless. The story is intriguing and I was really worried about the English dub being kind of cheesy sounding but it’s done really well. Again, never played any Yakuza games, but I’m having a great time with Judgment so far and I’m looking forward to continuing the story!
Yakuza is my favorite series of all time (Don't like playing Japanese games or watching Japanese content in English 💩 i prefer their own voice acting because they give the emotions in the most perfect way ) and i already been playing judgment since like 4 days ago So far it's definitely 10/10 for me ❤️ + shenmue is also up their with Yakuza Can't wait for 3 shenmue 🔥🔥🔥

gotta say, I love this game. My one thing is that, while I love it (big Yakuza fan BTW), random fight encounters don't really make sense to me. They made sense in Yakuza cos Kiryu was some kinda ex-Dojima badass, but Yagami is a (former) lawyer/ (current) detective. Are we supposed to believe that asskicking is Japanese national curriculum? Again, love the game and the developer, but that just doesn't make sense
Hey I don't mean pushy, but if you are on PS4 and if this looks like something you be into (like I am), I'd recommend playing sleeping dogs. It's not exactly similar but it's a great beat em up set in an a smaller but really pretty open world in China where you are an under cover detective. Anyone who's played both might knock me for mentioning it. But they both have great characters and story and beautiful setting. It's on sale now on PSN. I found switching between them was a great way of pacing myself through each game.
The feel is there but the fighting system is very different here there's no wait for enemy to glow then counter its just old school beat em up fights like final fight or streets of rage which in my opinion is better than sleeping dogs fight style nonetheless the atmosphere is definitely there if you enjoyed sleeping dogs ull definitely enjoy this.
Only played a bit of yakuza 3 years ago too much dialogue reading (especially when stoned 😂) and obviously the language barrier but there was still something about it especially with the fighting and mini games, I've only just found out about this game today and am over the fricking moon its English dubbed so I've downloaded it on psn 😃
This game finally game to PC after I've been wanting to play it since release. I originally wanted Lost judgement cause its newer and I was told you didn't need to play the first one, since its older I was also kind of expecting some jank Kiwami 2 ragdolls. But let me just say, the first Judgement is currently blowing me away with out good it is. Best combat in a Yakuza series game so far.
The reason why there is no karaoke is probably because Tak’s actor(model?) is a legendary Japanese singer group “SMAP” member and maybe if he dose the Karaoke in this game it’s gonna cost tons of money, sorry for my bad English.

Late to the party, but FUCK NO. Judge-eyes (the OG name of these spinoffs) are some of the worst games in the series. The Dragon Engine jank + the crappiest plots ever make them just annoying. The over-serious tone also does not fit the series. If you want to play only ONE (1) game to test the waters, it needs to be the Yakuza Zero. If you want to experience the franchies properly, start with the PS2 original Yakuza 1, and play them all in the release order.
Why would they do it when its the same as 2018 with better graphics and maybe better physics also this is not a sim racing channel so they would not cover it well because they dont play racing sims
Ivan Pavlovic it’s not the same though, they’ve got full esports integration, along with f2 included in the career with official driver transfers (eg vettel to Renault) and multiplayer improvements Including a spec 2019 regs car with car, helmet, and race suit customisation (can’t comment on connection/lag as it’s still only early access for a few youtubers who are mainly focusing on career so it hasn’t been tested enough to know) and they’ve improved more than just graphics and Physics, they have also improved sound too also it doesn’t matter if they are a sim channel or not as they cover every major game out there (and pretty sure they did f1 2018) regardless of genre

I will say I did expect the combat to have a little more impact to it from the footage I’ve seen, but it’s damn fun regardless. The story is intriguing and I was really worried about the English dub being kind of cheesy sounding but it’s done really well. Again, never played any Yakuza games, but I’m having a great time with Judgment so far and I’m looking forward to continuing the story!
But why do people play with dub?
One of the best games I ever played. And the fact that it speaks in English makes it even better. At least for me.
Yakuza is my favorite series of all time (Don't like playing Japanese games or watching Japanese content in English 💩 i prefer their own voice acting because they give the emotions in the most perfect way ) and i already been playing judgment since like 4 days ago

Sleeping dog is still my top fav game for fighting in open world. I just wish it had a part 2 nd the map extended

Bought the game after this video and haven't regretted it since. Also loving lost judgement
gotta say, I love this game. My one thing is that, while I love it (big Yakuza fan BTW), random fight encounters don't really make sense to me. They made sense in Yakuza cos Kiryu was some kinda ex-Dojima badass, but Yagami is a (former) lawyer/ (current) detective. Are we supposed to believe that asskicking is Japanese national curriculum? Again, love the game and the developer, but that just doesn't make sense
rob belton the only people that attach you on the street are apart of the Keihin gang which is an enemy of yagami because he made them pay their debts

Any game similar to Yakuza is an instant buy. Too bad they removed the hostess clubs though. I enjoyed them for the.....research purposes.

Hey I don't mean pushy, but if you are on PS4 and if this looks like something you be into (like I am), I'd recommend playing sleeping dogs. It's not exactly similar but it's a great beat em up set in an a smaller but really pretty open world in China where you are an under cover detective. Anyone who's played both might knock me for mentioning it. But they both have great characters and story and beautiful setting. It's on sale now on PSN. I found switching between them was a great way of pacing myself through each game.

So is it like sleeping dogs? Cause I really liked that game to the point where played it twice and got platinum.
The feel is there but the fighting system is very different here there's no wait for enemy to glow then counter its just old school beat em up fights like final fight or streets of rage which in my opinion is better than sleeping dogs fight style nonetheless the atmosphere is definitely there if you enjoyed sleeping dogs ull definitely enjoy this.
So happy that I got into judgement so late so I can jump right into lost judgement after.

Only played a bit of yakuza 3 years ago too much dialogue reading (especially when stoned 😂) and obviously the language barrier but there was still something about it especially with the fighting and mini games, I've only just found out about this game today and am over the fricking moon its English dubbed so I've downloaded it on psn 😃

Yakuza 0 was used to be so underrated. Hopefully Judgment gets the same recognition because it’s so good.
This game finally game to PC after I've been wanting to play it since release. I originally wanted Lost judgement cause its newer and I was told you didn't need to play the first one, since its older I was also kind of expecting some jank Kiwami 2 ragdolls. But let me just say, the first Judgement is currently blowing me away with out good it is. Best combat in a Yakuza series game so far.

The reason why there is no karaoke is probably because Tak’s actor(model?) is a legendary Japanese singer group “SMAP” member and maybe if he dose the Karaoke in this game it’s gonna cost tons of money, sorry for my bad English.

Judge-eyes (the OG name of these spinoffs) are some of the worst games in the series. The Dragon Engine jank + the crappiest plots ever make them just annoying. The over-serious tone also does not fit the series.
If you want to play only ONE (1) game to test the waters, it needs to be the Yakuza Zero. If you want to experience the franchies properly, start with the PS2 original Yakuza 1, and play them all in the release order.
Bought 1 & 2 on Series X on the SEGA sale and I’m in 6 hours in. It’s yakuza + ace attorney!! Get them both for under $60 now

Why would they do it when its the same as 2018 with better graphics and maybe better physics also this is not a sim racing channel so they would not cover it well because they dont play racing sims

(can’t comment on connection/lag as it’s still only early access for a few youtubers who are mainly focusing on career so it hasn’t been tested enough to know) and they’ve improved more than just graphics and Physics, they have also improved sound too also it doesn’t matter if they are a sim channel or not as they cover every major game out there (and pretty sure they did f1 2018) regardless of genre
