Being sick she always gave 120% in her concert , you would never know it she taught me give all you got once you hit that stage. Happy Birthday Mommy!!!!
I think because as a people, African Americans have always been able to pull hope out of despair. Our lives then, and for many now are full of despair and cause us to equate solemnity with sadness and sorrow, so we make even the most solemn of songs into a joyous affair, because like the old song says, we sing because we are happy!
Now that's why we as a people love our Gospel Music .....because these Spiritual songs were what brought our Ancestors through and is deeply rooted in our Souls. Thank you to the 1 who posted this God Bless you.
This song reminds me our late Elder Gila, Ntshanga, Poswayo and Somana. They were the All saints Quartet those days from Engcobo, Eastern Cape South Africa. May their souls rest in peace.
Anyone else seen our Ancestors watching helplessly as their loved ones were killed, murdered and lynched. This literally had me about to cry, I can feel the pain of my Ancestors.
1. She is a legend and great singer...point blank 2. Some people talk about the emoiton she put forward....you have to know and understand her struggle, THE STRUGGLE, and you will then understand why she sings with so much emotion. 3. Her singing moves me and causes me to look back at my forefathers and mothers with respect ..and "tremble" 4. Looking forward at the music and some artists we have representing us now.....causes me to just shake my damn head. ....and then tremble lol
Anyone who sings it like this has stood in the presence of a HOLY GOD! The ONLY race is the human race, and we are a fallen race indeed if we do not tremble before a Holy God, who gave His life for our sins. His blood was shed once, for all. There is One God, and One mediator between God and man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Sing it, sister!
I couldn't help sobbing...... Her singing wholeheartedly expresses the agony and hope of African-American people of "dark those days". What's more, I've never realized that a song can be sung so freely - it truly matches the theme of "freedom". I'm a Japanese listener, but I must say, no Japanese singer can "imitate" Ms. Marion William's way of singing. She is a soul of Gospel itself !!
Lord, this was one of the first songs I learned how to play on the piano and played at Sunday School. It just popped in my head, I searched for it on UA-cam, and here I am. Love Ms. Williams' version here.filled with the spirit.
this is beutiful we sing this every good friday except the last verse and then on easter sunday we sing it all the way through it causies me to cry every time....well good friday in genral causes me to cry
It's from south Korea. I can't speak English well. But let me try. I'm consoled by her soulfull song. We all are recently going through diversity and sorrow. I hope that all kinds of descriminations be faded out among us.
Marion Williams is unforgettable...the nicest concert I have ever experienced was when she came in a rolling chair in Zug, Switzerland...her pianist there was Alberta Carter Bradford herself!
OMG! i enjoyed this! i've only seen younger videos of her but this video of her singing when she is older is just as great! she looks a little different but her voice and expressions are so obviously the same! wow! i love marion williams, cuz u can always feel the power of God thru her when she sings!!!
WOW! Sung from the bottom of her soul! So So Very Powerful. Marion Williams' rendition of this old gospel song is so so sad yet provides us with hope. My heart always cries out each and every time I hear this old gospel song, since it did the very first time I heard it. I love 2:34 - 2:55 WOW! Jesus of Nazareth let his blood run down from his cross on Calvary at Golgatha. The lyrics are so so powerful. Sounds even better than Mahalia's Jackson's version! God bless you Marian and all this Holy Friday and Easter Sunday!
I brings also tears in my eyes...we miss her so much! Thank you for posting this and please let us have some more!I met her in Switzerland, and I wil never forget the nicest concert of my life...
MRS.WILLIAMS U ARE THE BEST.N I WILL ALWAYS PRAY FIR YOUR HEALTH SO,I CAN LISTEN TO LOVING VOICE.U ARE VERY SPIRITUAL.GID BLESS YOU MOTHER.IM SAYING MOTHER WITH LOVE N RESPECT.
Ms. Marion takes singing with your entire soul, and telling a story through song to a whole deeper richer level of the soul. You should always sing these songs of faith with your entire being and as you are trying to get the audience and listeners to feel what you're feeling. Marion Williams definantley does.
I LOVE HER SINGING STYLE, FROM THE HEART OF SOUL, AND OF COURSE, SINGING TO GOD THE FATHER. THIS IS THE WAY TO EXPRESS YOUR DEEPLY LOVE TO THE ONE WHO MADE US ALL. JESUS CHRIST OUR GOD THE FATHER. ALLELUIA.!!!PRAISE GOD!!!
This song has a very special ANOINTING!!! When u hear this song think back to The Passion of the Christ.... Jesus is calling..... Sinner man, Sinner woman,,,, will u answer Him?
I confess to Almighty Everliving God that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words.........God bless us all! amazing performance filled with love. thank you for sharing.....Praise Almighty God through Jesus Mary and Joseph.
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.LETS ALL WORK TOGETHER IN UNITY OF HIS LOVE.HE NOT ASKING FOR SO MUCH.AFTER ALL HE PROVIDES N GIVES US ALL.I WISH I HAD A SONG OR OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK TO WORLD.FOR MY LORD.AMEN GOD BLESS YOU.
My thoughts are, Are we willing to dream, dreams, Are we willing to sacrifice it all for God's dreams. I believe that we are not living until we found something we are willing to die for just as jesus did.
THIS IS PERFECT EXAMPLE OF LOVE ❤️ NOT LOVE ❤️ WE HEAR FOLKS THROW AROUND LOVE NO LOVE THAT GOD HIMSELF CAME OUT OF HEAVEN TO BE CRUCIFIED FOR US ALL WHO CRUCIFIED HIM GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST FOR HIS LIVING LOVE ❤️ YES ONLY LOVE WILL DO

@Imagirl36 I really liked this rendition. It was sung with a lot of emotion. I don't care for gospel artists who sing with no emotion or feeling. I think if you truly believe in the words you are singing then it must be sung with emotion.
