Explaining Kiyoshi's situation: his injury was very severe and required surgery, however, the recovery and rehabilitation would last too long, and he would only be able to play after highschool. What he ended up doing is that he did not undergo surgery, and instead, did only a year of rehab. This would allow him to playe the next year (his 2nd year in highschool), however, because he didn't undergo surgery, he has to be careful, as too much stress could cause a new injury, and it would likely end his basketball carreer, and also, his knee would not be able to last more than 1 season. Basically, after a years of rehab, he will be able to play for, at best, another year, and then he would need to go to surgery. So, basically, he delayed his surgery and put his basketball carreer at riske to be able to play another year in highschool.
As stated in previous episodes, the Uncrowned Kings are a generation one year older than the Generation of Miracles. They are strong as well, bot got outshined by the Generation of Miracles. The Miracles all went to one middle school together (Teiko). The Kings didn't. Kyoshi and Hanamiya (the emo Rock Lee) are both Uncrowned Kings
The Three King are the established three best schools in Tokyo. We've already seen Seirin playing against two of them, Seiho (the weird ninja techniques school) and Shutoku (the school Midorima goes to). It was a whole thing with the senpais getting thier revange for the last year while Kuroko and Kagami wtced from the bench and everything (edited to correct the name of one of the schools)
actually the ninja techniques school is Seiho not senshinkan. Senshinkan has the yellowish green jerseys and they played them in the championship league just before the shutoku match.
The speech on the rooftop made an impact on Riko but what really convinced her to jojn was Hyuga announcing he would do it. If you pay attention to the episode before this one we can see the camera pan to Hyuga after Riko talks about it bothering her how "people have given up on winning". Hyuga losing heart and giving up in doing something he was passionate about really affected her. Teppei desrves the title of Iron Heart because boi, I wouldn't be as composed as him after being done dirty like that. Lookin forward for the next episode, favorite episode to see Reactors watch xD
I believe they end up together, or it's implied, so it makes sense that one losing their passion for something would affect the other and same for reignitingg that passion. teppei deserves the world.
As someone with severe plantar fasciitis (developed during high school while playing soccer/basketball) injuries and health are unfortunately a part of the game. Glad to see this show address this very real topic
They aren't third graders. The team has only 2nd (Kiyoshi, Hyuga etc) and 1st (Kuroko, Kagami etc) years. Thats one of the reasons people gets shocked when they see them play very well. A team without any 3rd year being this well isnt something people used to.

Kiyoshi is one of my favourite characters. Like someone said, he always somehow manages to get everyone to do what he wants without being pushy or overbearing. Great behind the scenes leader! Edit: I prefer the Hyuga's response to the juice request in the dub - "I'm not your mother!" 🤣🤣🤣 Edit 2: This reminds me of Haikyuu!! where the games are played on the main courts and the annex court and Bokuto gets so depressed until he's reminded all eyes are on him in the annex court as compared to the main court.
Hanamiya = IT cuz IT has good team work and persuasion among his team even to some who just happen to have vendetta against a certain player ie. MJ wants IT out of USA dream team if the team wants him in for Olympics because IT persuade other participants to not give MJ the ball in practices. Meanwhile... World Peace = haizaki cuz when Metta was still Ron Artest he beat an audience when someone throw a drink over him when he lie on the anouncer's table.

Friend, you have to pay more attention to the dialogues and the episode itself, they are showing and saying everything that happens and you are not understanding why you are not paying attention. It's not for nothing but it's the 2nd season and you're still not understanding the essence of this tremendous anime. Get more into the dialogues and what happens in the chapters. The scenes and dialogues pass and you ask questions that have just been shown. You pay more attention to whether the animation is well drawn than to what is really happening.
Sucks to say but it actually gets more frustrating every next episode since it becomes like watching him react to only one separate episode not even understanding half of the stuff.
I think you're a bit confused because you still think Kiyoshi and the other upperclassmen are third years. There is not a single third year at Seirin high. The school didn't exist until last year. It's a new school. All the upperclassmen on the team are currently in their second year. They're in their first year during this flashback. Kiyoshi chose to put off his surgery because it would mean he couldn't ever play in high school again. He chose to take the rest of his first year off for rehabilitation, and is now back to play for one more year in his second year. He'll spend his third year recovering from the surgery.

I prefer his response in dub too. I think he put 'dammit' at the end though too, which made it even more funnier. The KNB dub in general is top tier.

consider watching Ao Ashi next, the better sports series imo by far. It got a very rich story, especially when it gets a new season.
