I've had my Yukon 2 for a year now, and have no complaints. I first thought I would get it for winter trail riding only. I soon found I was having so much fun riding it that it's a regular in my bike stable.
Yes, they're great bikes. We have heard of a few people who do the same... it ends up being the spare bike they use in many cases if the main full-suspension bike is out of action.
Thanks for the review! I've been waiting for this one. I pre-ordered in August and mine arrives any day now. Had no idea the fatties were in such high demand as well. What a crazy year this has been
Thanks for posting the video! I am interested in purchasing a Giant Yukon 2 this winter. Since this video was posted 4 years ago, perhaps the following question is no longer relevant: With the Yukon 2, are the chainring and crank arm set two separate components, allowing for the option to switch to a larger chainring while keeping the same crank arm set?
interesting Maxxis chose to make the collosus in 650b, nice bike, time will tell how the giant hubs hold up to the climbs out here, especially with all the torque from the very reasonable factory 28x50 gearing.
The 2020 batch of Yukons had problems with the rear hub. The rim is 28 hole, while almost all aftermarket fat bike rear hubs are 32. So if your rear hub goes bad, you have little choice in terms of hubs for rebuilding the wheel using the stock rim.
Giant was very proactive with sending out upgrade hub parts once they determined there was an issue with the first batch of rear hubs and we've been impressed by the durability since. I agree, 32 hole would have been preferred for ability to upgrade with the widest selection of hubs.
Hi, we've used a fat bike specific rack from Axiom for the most part. I like the idea of single wheel (Bob Style) trailers but not sure If I've seen one designed for a fatbike's rear hub width.
Hi! Thanks for this review! I live in Wisconsin, but I wonder if you could answer a question. Because this has a rear thru-axle, is it safe to set up a Burley hitch for trailer?
you would need a special axle. The Robert Axle Project is a company that makes a bunch of axles for different purposes... I think they make something for that purpose
Just wondering how to line up the rear wheel with it having slots in the rear stays. Just got mine and I don’t think it’s lined up correctly the space isn’t even on each side between the tire wall and stays. Help pls.
That is something I'd suggest going back to where you got the bike to have them check... a bit too complex of an issue for a few words to cover in a comment.
@@BikeBrosBikeShop Cool to have the options nontheless. I have to say so far my experience with this bike has been that my Hardtails are collecting dust.
The bike comes stock with tubes in the tires. Be warned, setting up these, or any fat bike tires tubeless is much more likely to cause issues than doing tubeless on standard mountain bike tires.
Strange that you have regular bikes for sale but no fat bikes. That opposite of Sudbury Ontario. All the bike shops have several fat bikes on the showroom floor but none of the full suspension bikes I am looking for. There is even a new trail system that opened and allows fat bikes. Who knows.
Oh, really. Yes, all our fatbikes were sold before they arrived and that is the story at all the shops in this region. We do have amazing fatbike trails around here do fatbiking has been very popular for a number of years in Southern Alberta.

Nice job on the overview of this Fatty! Thank you :-)
Thanks!
The fork cannot hold an Anything Cage, unless only 2 holes are used. The 3 hole spacing is suitable for low rider racks.
Im 5.7 and im pretty ok with my medium size .
Looking at Yukon 2 now for my wife and I with the discounts. However, any concerns with the Praxis cranks?
We've sold a number of these over the years and no real issues.
I used yukon 1 n 2 last two winter in Michigan n had no problem for traction
With the stock tires?
@@BikeBrosBikeShop yes stock tires are really good 😌 used last two winters n had no problem in deep 6 inch snow n also groomed trail
Our local conditions often get very icy so studs are almost a necessity. It must be nice having conditions that don't require studs!
I want to tour with my Giant Yukon (cross Canada). Any recomendations for racks and bags or am I better to go with a trailer ? Thoughts

I've got an Axiom Fatliner rack with Ortlieb panniers/bags on my Yukon and it's perfect.

Whats the fourth screw for on the fork? Its missing on both sides on my bike. The bottom one above the axle.
Hi, that is a mounting point for rack/fender. It is normal for there to be no screws in those spots. The screws come with the rack/fender typically

Does it have bike stand?
Can you do a review on the yukon 1 2021 thanks!
If I get a chance with one of the sold ones we haven't received yet. Will do.
That’s great!! Appreciate it! Thanks!
@@BikeBrosBikeShop what bottom bracket do i need to use if I’m going to install a raceface turbine crankset? Thanks!
I never knew giant made a fat bike I have 2018 specialized Fatboy and I love it but I also like the looks of this bike TBH
Giant was quite late to the fatbike party but got the Yukon right... meanwhile I believe Specialized has stopped making fatbikes.
So is this already tubeless or does it have tubes? Thx 👍🏻

@@BikeBrosBikeShop cool thx I prefer tubes in fat bikes 👍🏻

In Germany Fatbikes are really unpopular and dealers shy away from putting them in store. The Yukon is not even offered by Giant in Europe
@@bikemike1118 that is interesting.
This kind of bikes is suitable for which tracks?? Mountain or roads?
Mountain, Snow and sand
@@mrlondono Thank you so much :)
How much the price.
$1700 Canadian. All sold out now for the season
Its 2021 not 2020
Oops. Did I say that... exhaustion from this crazy season shows up daily with slip ups...
