Maaate chin up brother. You deserve to be there just as much as anyone. You're rig is unique and you've done it all yourself. You've given me heaps of inspiration for my own 60. Keep up the good work champ.
First of all, don't compare yourself - choose to be inspired and second of all, you build a channel at the same time and are a great storyteller, don't underestimate that piece of work!
@@favouritejay Haha just stating a fact! I mean you shared the story of your whole build. I'm just starting and filming the car resto at the same time basically triples the time consumption of ... whatever you do. I just changed a windscreen whiper blade today and because I was talking to the camera at the same time it took me half an hour ;)
Hold your head up high brother. We all start somewhere and in time get better at what we do. I am excited to see what you do with the new build with the skills you've learned and the contacts you've made that can assist. You are 100% relatable to a lot of folks out there who are just starting this hobby and are diyers. You're doing great. Keep up the great content and work!
Mateeee you got an absolute mint rig, I'm done with comparing my Surf to other cars, at the end of the day it's what makes me happy and I know I have built something I can be proud of. Definitely isn't the flashiest, most expensive or most capable car, but that doesn't matter. I'm happy with my car. There will always be someone with something better. Some goes with your 60, I'm sure there's others out there that would kill to have a 60 like yours, me included haha. At the end of the day, if it gets you out bush, that to me is a rig worth owning. Take care mate!
Not sure if we crossed paths there or not but shame I didn’t get a chance to have a chat to you mate! Everyone is at different stages at different times. Comparison is the thief of joy!!! I completely get where you are coming from it can be hard to see certain builds and not feel intimidated but at the same time use that shit to fuel the fire and either build whatever you want or enjoy it how ever you want. Take care 🤟🏽
Ahh it was so hectic out there dude. So many people. That’s it, I need to turn that energy into building something absolutely wild. I’m sure we will run into each other again!
All I'm hearing is you have a much better build series because most of us don't have the money for a flash 79 and want to use our classics in the bush on the weekend not polish it every weekend work to your strengths
Bud there always going to someone out there building bigger and better, my take on life is do what make you happy and live the life you want. Great to leaner from all the crazy ideas but, you do you
Jay, The way I see it the advantage of entering is you can park wherever you like and your not stuck in the carpark. I take the 60 to JDM days at the drags, local car shows 4wd shows, even went to a celica show. I just go if I see something I want to go to. Regards Alex
Haha that’s awesome Alex. Yeah I did a JDM show last year. So many cool cars. I probably liked looking at cars there rather than car builders. Too many gu patrols haha
Mate you are doing a great job doing all your own work, i really enjoyed your rear bar carrier build and i can't wait to watch the new build. Keep your chin up. Keep reminding yourself it's for you to enjoy. There's people out here watching you and we appreciate what you have done. #respect
@@favouritejay it's what we're all here for, to do something we like, enjoy ourselves while having a few laughs. I can see you achieving your goal while still entertaining people. Keep it up.👌
Mate, don’t be hard on yourself. You’re a great bloke. Was good chatting to you, I found the hand brake lever and original air box for the 60, still sifting through my stuff to find the ash tray. Nothing wrong with the dark grey 60 though it’s a 4wd it’s not meant to be perfect !
Good on you mate. I enjoy watching your channel because you make it look accessible. I appreciate your honesty and the reality you bring to the channel. No point me watching a channel with crap loads of sponsors, because the reality is, i wont be able to build what they are showing.
Have definitely felt the same after seeing some influencer level builds But the true art of building a car is balancing that level of money and time spent on something vs time spent using and enjoying your build When I get like this I like to look back 20 years and appreciate how much fun and enjoyment blokes would get from a old cruiser ,patrol or hilux in pretty stock form -maybe a set of tyres I find roothy to be a prime example of this
I couldn’t agree more with you on this. So much money spent and I feel my primer GQ was not worth me taking and was actually going to pull out the day of. But if I didn’t I wouldn’t of met you man ! Don’t let this get you down man, as we all have different ideas and tastes in our rigs
If you enjoy what you do & how you do it, just doing it don’t be intimidated by others because what I’ve seen a lot people throw big dollars into a rig just to keep up with the Jones. 98% of them wouldn’t use their vehicle in the bush. Unless you have a endless supply of money that grows on trees. At least you use your vehicle, with work commitments family life plus doing things yourself when you can your doing well 👍👍👍🍻🍻
The only person you are competing against is yourself no one else, live each day with honour and constant improvement and you will never feel like you are not worthy, ask questions and you will be amazed by how many people are willing and wanting to help you achieve your unlimited potential, push the envelope and watch it bend.
Bud you are way looking at this the wrong way! A show like that Which was cool, I went the wife had her np300 in the main lineup and at first had the same feeling Bjt by the end she found that no other car quite had what she incisions to do with her build, cherry picked some ideas and brought them home with fresh set of eyes on how to do it! End of the day so long as you’re proud of your rides all that matters
I need to have a more positive look for sure. I even thought about refilming the end of this video after I perked up, but I thought I’d leave it in in case someone felt the same.

100% they become show cars at some point.
If I prioritise the car over other things in life, I’m sure I’d have no problem owning a car like that
