I like showing people that you can easily create with common household items and still get amazing results. In the video below I used salt, school glue, candles and straws to create 3 amazing backgrounds that you can use for cards, art journals and more.

Great video Karen, you teach so well. Always a pleasure to watch.❤❤❤
thank you so much Andrea!
Hope this finds you well. I haven't been around much lately. Life got in the way. I love the blow art especially with the alcohol inks.
thanks so much! I'm sorry you haven't been around, I know what you mean as Its been the same for me. I also love blow art with alcohol inks, and doing it with alcohol markers even more like like I did in that class.
I look forward to your class in the summit.
yay! thanks Arlene, I hope you liked it!
I really like this! Another idea for you as you said calligraphy isn't something you regularly practice, is to print those words on paper in whichever font you like and then follow those lines with glue. You could also create patterns using your computer and then print it, just in b&w. Then glue, then salt and the rest of the technique. There are so many possibilities 0.o
oh wow, so silly why didn't I think of that. that would have made a nicer design lol. great idea and thanks for sharing!
I LOVE the glue/salt technique. I can envision 3D effects for my watercolor florals on either white or black watercolor paper. Such fun!!!
yes!! that would be awesome to do! love the ideas!
Love it. Especially salt and glue, very còol. Look forward to the summit.
thank you so much!

I found you today ❤we might be kindred spirits 😊😊
aw!! you're so sweet! thanks so much!
Thank you, your videos are always great! Can crayons be substitued for the birthday candles?
Crayons will resist the acrylic paint but not as easily. it will be more like a scratch off technique. You will need something to scratch it off. the wax is oilier than the crayons. I did the crayon technique here if you want to see: ua-cam.com/video/W4wzZL5L0iw/v-deo.html
@@KerenTamir Thank you!
Hi these are lovely ideas thank you. When you do the salt and glue one, do you use ordinary craft glue and does the salt break off at all after it dries?
Yes I did use regular school glue. Some of it flaked off but the main part stayed. I think what fell off probably didn’t touch the glue just sat on top.
thanks for that.@@KerenTamir
When using the "blow" technique, do you prepare the paper by pre-wetting or is is dry?
The paper is dry otherwise it won’t crear lines. It will spread differently. However it’s worth to try and experiment to see the effect with both
