Made cheap. Just had one for 3 days literally just handed it back to hire company today. Way underpowered (we had the base model) and only two of us in it. Ride was ok although the front end bottomed out a few times on medium grade stuff. Was comfortable enough, the AC was nice n cold. There’s no uv protection on the front windscreen so the sun literally burns your arms. Plenty of room in the back for suitcases luggage etc. the head unit was pretty average sound even after changing the sound settings. The steering wheel material was already peeling off. We had the 1.5L non turbo. It sat on 100 ok once up n going but little torque for the hills. But for just over 20k there ok but I’d rather buy a second hand car like a Corolla or swift than one of these. The reversing camera was surprisingly clear
@@sidjyothi power to weight ratio and swift is vvti. I drove one over the long weekend. You can get a swift sports second hand (I did say second hand) with 103kw and 230nm, over mg’s 82kw and 150nm.
@@Stevegrande1 the turbo swift is a good option...it's surprisingly well packaged inside. Definitely worth considering over the 1.5. but the turbo ZST is quite good for the price. Besides, doesn't the swift turbo need 95RON?
I recently sold my mg zst top spec car for 24k with 7100km. Bought it brand new for 33990 in Feb 2023. I just found too many things that annoyed the hell out of me. 1. Can't turn off radio. 2. Paper thin sunroof. 3. Garbage vinyl seats when in the sun. 4. Really crappy infotainment system. 5. Premium fuel and full tank gets about 400km range. 6. Infotainment system randomly rebooted while driving a few times. 7. No rear seat vents, 8. No rear middle seat cup holders. 9. Mg dropped the price of the my23 zst top spec by $4,000 so it doesn't retain much value. 10. The 1.3 turbo engine has some weird turbo lag, 11. Depreciation... Chinese cars just don't hold their value. 12. Chinese car makers are currently selling their cars way below their rrp, the mg zst ev which was 49990 is currently on sale for 34990. 13. Tiny cup holders, 14. Apple carplay doesn't stay connected long even with official Apple cable, Never ever will I buy Chinese cars again. I ordered a Toyota rav4. I know it's more expensive but at least I know what I'm getting and it will hold value. I don't plan to sell my car for at least 5 years but something compelled me to sell the MG. Just my opinion and sharing my thoughts.
How would you like her to compare it to the 100k family cars she also reviews. Do you just want her to say cheap, would that make you feel less triggered?
Chery n GWM,s quality n reputation is much better than MG in China. though Chery did put damper on aussie,s car buyers as its first debut in Australia. but its quality has nightn day difference. now.

Probably because you had the base model is why it felt underpowered. The 1.3 turbo is not underpowered

Bit patronising why do families have to be on a budget maybe some people just hate wasting money on overpriced cars 🤔
