I bought the first wave top model, White with black roof and red highlights. I love it. I got the full faux leather interior. The appearance has a luxury vibe, and the interior was just perfect for me. Simple, not over the top, minimal dials, streamline. The lane assist I can agree was annoying, it was worse on the highways. However eventually it became less intrusive and didn't pull as hard - this was even before it's first service. This was my first purchase after driving a car for 10 years from the early 90s, with virtually 0 tech. I don't regret a thing, it's an amazing car for what it's worth.
Thanks for the honest review. One request: can you put cars up on a hoist and do a walkthrough of what they look like underneath? Chery's have a reputation for weak / poorly welded suspension components, and it would be good. to see what it looks like - even better with a side-by-side shot of a more expensive competitor.
Chery need to do some work to improve what is a decent core vehicle. Steering, suspension, electronic aid tuning will turn this from an average vehicle to a compelling value proposition.
Don’t buy a Chery. Constant issues, No parts in Australia for warranty repairs. After-sales service is horrible. A brand-new car was worth $3,800 trade-in to get rid of it less than 8 months later. I will never buy a chinese car ever again, Regardless of how good they get. Burnt for life & I hope no one else will make the mistake I did.
You reap what you sow this cheap and boring Omoda FX is no better than old J1 & J3; then highly reccomend to go ride the bus public transport isn't a luxury it's cheaper and safer for the young and little ones won't be disadvantaged by gridlock delays.
Australian public transport is not cheap, and it is not reliable as well. A return daily ticket in Victoria is nearly $11, and more expensive in NSW. And the train in Melbourne is always delay, even cancelled. My high school boy was stucked on the train twice and late for the term exams. I have to drive him to school during the VCE exam period in case of the train dramas.

I test drove it ,unlike haval the drivers seat is very comfortable it has underthigh support, haval base seat is short.

Probably a silly question , but did you try to sell it privately ?
Not a Chery, but I am incredibly happy with my GWM Ora. It's such a great car.
