Thanks for the tips. Massively enjoying Planet Coaster but sometimes feel overwhelmed by just how much flexibility it offers. They've done a fantastic job on it.
I have over 200 hours in PC (according to Steam). Yet, I learned about a dozen pathing tips I never knew about. THANK YOU!!!! I'll be binge-watching your other tutorials to see what else I missed.
Thank you for sharing all the very useful information. I do have one (tiny) suggestion: As you are talking and performing tasks, it would be VERY helpful if you said what you were clicking and pressing. For example, there was a part where the path did not completely cover where it should have. You made an adjustment and fixed it, but you didn't tell what you pressed to make that happen. Other than that, I remain very grateful that you took the time to share your knowledge. I have loved Rollercoaster Tycoon for years, and I thought I would just pick up in Planet Coaster with no problem. Well, it seems that I was incorrect! I do think there is a general Frontier feel, but so much is different, I decided to give up trying to compare the two. I do miss my custom controls for movement. Thanks again! Hands across the water. ;)
I have been SUFFERING for the last couple of days playing this beautiful game. Im almost uncontrollably laughing right now because of how many of my issues your videos solves!
the level of detail that is achievable in this game is mind boggling. even from just the pathing. First video iv watched of yours and I can wait to see what is possible with all the other mechanics.
I came here from some random comment on a Flabaliki video. Very great quality and useful information. Just wanted to let you know that word of mouth still works. This content deserves way more views
you are so great at explaining everything. out of all youtubers who have made PC videos yours are the most useful. The accent helps and keeps me interested too i think. very well done videos. You've shown me a lot of stuff that has me excited to play PC again, i was getting frustrated with it so that is a good thing. +1 subscriber :) keep it up love these tips/tutorials videos.
I recently started playing Planet Coaster and I found pathing to be extremely problematic. Thank you for posting this video, as I found your tips top be extremely helpful. Most notably U and J.
I was so frustrated trying to the learn the pathing buttons! The other day I spent hours trying to connect paths and make it work. This helped SO much. Thanks.
I had planned this whole afternoon for building a new nature-style park. Instead i've spent those hours watching your damned brilliant videos, Geekism!
Oooo thank you for this!! I was wondering how to make a picnic area and you have answered! Been really enjoying your planet coaster tutorials, my sister just got me into the game!
hey dude, huge fan of zoo tycoon and roecoaster tycoon, and I really am blown away by planet Coaster so far ! and your channel is really great to learn tips, thank you very much !
This tutorial definitely helped. I've been trying to find different ways to create the path without having to constantly delete it one by one. Thanks for the info 😄
you are making amazing content and tutorials, i dont even have this game but i am getting it for my birthday and this tutorials really help me out figuring out how the game works!
Thank you for this video. I learned a lot! I am rather late to this game but picked it up a few days ago on sale on Steam. It is so addictive but there is so much to learn :-) My next game will be Planet Zoo, which I see you are also playing, so you have earned a new subscriber. I love the calmness of your voice and it is easy to follow your explanations. Again, thank you!
Prob late to the party but top tip / improvement on that last bin collision trick- use the basic planter item as you can place it more freely, even under the path and guests will walk around it.
Thank you so much for these tricks! I can't wait to rework my parks now with these techniques. Can't wait for more. Any plans for a general building guide for the buildings?
While watching this video I thought you might have at least somewhere between 10K and 100K subs, only bit that made me think otherwise was the bit where you said about your cat, however I have subscribed, keep up the good work.
Geekism I mean I have 2 cats and look at my sub number :P, but what I was actually trying to say was it is a bit unprofessional to stop for your cat, most youtubes will lock them out of the room while they record so they don't disturb you.
I feel like this is exactly what I needed, thank you for the tips - I agree with the previous comments about the subs & views. You certainly deserve more of both!
Thanks for the clipping idea and using the roofing. I was wondering how to do that as I put in a hedge maze next to my castle and people were walking right through it. Now I know how to do the pathing and clipping through the maze!
My favourite youtuber by far :P Today I started my park on Planet coaster, but I noticed a BIG problem. My pc can't run my actual park, even at lowest graphics... And I still don't decorate it so much :(
Oh god I had no idea about holding Z for natural forks in the road. Thanks for the brilliant video, I wish I knew these facts sooner! I'd love to see a video about nature design, filling a park with trees and bushes can be rather tedious.
Wow....The Z key was my best friend before. But now it's my BFF! Thank you for these tips and tricks!!! Great video, sir. I've been watching some of your stuff and between you and Silv and some others, I'm learning a lot. (Subbed)
Keep up the great work! I'm sure you're aware that Silv just started a collaboration with De-Lady-Signer and Keralis. Should be fun to watch. I appreciate all of your guys' contributions to the Planet Coaster community.
Just bought the game most the stuff is intuitive but I couldn’t understand how to make wider paths/edit or plazas for food courts without weird connections or boring square grids but your guides are great especially this and the scene triggers. Thanks for making these.
Sometimes with priority queues the connection can get a bit glitchy not enabling you to finish the path. Click on the entrance and the exit to create a path piece at either end. Then go about the path connection.
Thank you, yeah the game doesn't give you much to go on... Some of the fun is finding stuff out for yourself, but sometimes it's nice to get a point in the right direction!
Thank you much for this one. I was hoping to figure out how to get large areas like in Planet Brocoaster, and this helps with that. I must return and write down all those hot keys.
Thank you for all these great videos, I watch them for hours on end! This may have already been answered, but would you mind sharing how you make the big rectangle of open path (@14:25)??
Awesome videos - all four of them so far have really helped make my parks look a lot better. Is there any way you could do a guide on scenery / buildings? I feel like I don't know everything about it like you do...
Is someone compiling a list on all of these additional keys? I've started with PC several months ago and still haven't been able to find all of these very helpfull keys! There used to be a short list on the forum but that dealt with alpha 1 & 2. Can't find something for the full release 1.01
No one else had such a detailed tutorial on paths-this is wonderful! I had a problem where my path would automatically go up as if I was building building a bridge and I couldn't simply place a path on the ground. The u & j trick was JUST what I needed. And I learned some extra tidbids too! Thank you! you've earned yourself a subscription.
I don't know if this is possible, but i was wondering if there is a way to build rides and shops directly on the paths? I am trying to replicate an amusement park like in Vancouver (Playland at PNE) and their amusement park rides and shops are basically situated on a parking lot. Is there a way to do this or just basically play around with the path tool to make it somewhat like that? Great videos by the way, very informative! thanks
Again, thanks for the tutorial! Quick question: How do you raise and lower the flat roof smoothly, so it sits just on top of the path without clipping? I care for my visitor's feet! ; ) Because in my game when I raise and lower, it always snaps to grid (I have un-cheked all options checkmarks). With placing some non-grid-element on the path *first*, I can get the roof top to snap to the height of that piece. But if I want to raise or lower the roof just a liiittle bit, it still doesn't work smoothly (this way the grid is

I haven’t seen anyone show that trick for the plaza paths until now. That’s a really good way of doing it
Oh my God where have these tips been all my life. Paths have been such a pain!!! Thank you!!!
I came here from some random comment on a Flabaliki video. Very great quality and useful information. Just wanted to let you know that word of mouth still works. This content deserves way more views
Oh wow, awesome :) Love James's videos, his accent is awesome :D
Geekism
Yeah for sure! He is a great content creator, but it is a shame it is so hard to find people like you.
Agreed! This is a lovely tutorial with a casual tone and proper info..
I also got randomly connected to this video. I found it very useful as well.
The hiding bins in on--path scenery tip was brillant
you are so great at explaining everything. out of all youtubers who have made PC videos yours are the most useful. The accent helps and keeps me interested too i think. very well done videos. Awesome :) Welcome aboard! Glad I have an 'interesting' accent lol
This video was a literal game changer. Thanks, dude. Instantly subbed.
Awesome! Welcome aboard!
You literally saved me a day of my life whilst playing this game. I Learned a lot. Thanks
+wiredjoker awesome :) thanks for watching :D
Amazing tips for paths. Holding z or ctrl to change snapping I had no idea about! Keep up the great work.
They are both really useful :) Thanks!
That Z trick especially. (I wonder if that showed up in a tooltip and I just missed it?)
I recently started playing Planet Coaster and I found pathing to be extremely problematic. Thank you for posting this video, as I found your tips top be extremely helpful. Most notably U and J.
I've been playing since Alpha release, and I can't begin to tell you how stoked I am to learn these tips / tricks.
thank you mucho!! :)
You're welcome!
Just found this. I've been fuming over my pathing for the last couple of months and you've just made my life easier. Just subbed. Thanks Geekism!
Thank you so much for this! The path has been such a pain and I'm hoping that my park can look much better now!
I was so frustrated trying to the learn the pathing buttons! The other day I spent hours trying to connect paths and make it work. This helped SO much. Thanks.
the roofs on the path helped me so much. now i can finish my boardwalk and actually place rides on it.
This is the most helpful video I've watched in a long time. Every second of this is pure gold.
Wow, thanks! Im super happy you found it useful :D
Just bought the game yesterday and found your excellent channel. Great stuff. Really useful info and you cut right to the point! Well done!
Thanks for watching! Enjoy the game :)
I had planned this whole afternoon for building a new nature-style park. Instead i've spent those hours watching your damned brilliant videos, Geekism!
Haha, well thanks for watching... now get to work on your own stuff!
ive always struggled with how to make a nice "enterance" path after my actual enterance so i'll definitely be using the plaza tip :D
I love both those games! Glad you're enjoying it, thansk for watching :)

While watching this video I thought you might have at least somewhere between 10K and 100K subs, only bit that made me think otherwise was the bit where you said about your cat, however I have subscribed, keep up the good work.
Thanks for subbing, welcome aboard! I have to ask though, do people with cats have less subscribers? lol
Geekism I mean I have 2 cats and look at my sub number :P, but what I was actually trying to say was it is a bit unprofessional to stop for your cat, most youtubes will lock them out of the room while they record so they don't disturb you.
Thank you! Lagging has been my biggest issue replicating plazas and centerpieces like in rct2 you've helped make me enjoy this game more
That's great to hear! Thanks :)
Geekism pathing! Dang auto correct
I knew what you meant :)
I feel like this is exactly what I needed, thank you for the tips - I agree with the previous comments about the subs & views. You certainly deserve more of both!
Thank you! Glad you found it useful :)
As a new Planet Coaster player, I found the video very useful. Thank you!
Duuuude I love your tutorials so much, I'm about to buy Planet Coaster and I'm learning so much from you!
Thank you so much for these videos. I’m beginning to take on this planet coaster journey myself and you offer so much help and support
Whoa, started playing yesterday and these videos are so helpful! Found out stuff I probably never would've realised. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for the clipping idea and using the roofing. I was wondering how to do that as I put in a hedge maze next to my castle and people were walking right through it. Now I know how to do the pathing and clipping through the maze!
Great Video! Love the quick key tutorials and the advanced settings walk-through. Keep the videos coming :)
Thanks for watching :)
My favourite youtuber by far :P Today I started my park on Planet coaster, but I noticed a BIG problem. My pc can't run my actual park, even at lowest graphics... And I still don't decorate it so much :(
Hold down Ctrl to stop paths from auto-connecting, you Sir have saved me from so much frustration.
Subbed, great production quality and some usefull tips, keep them coming ! :)
Thankyou! Welcome aboard :)
Right to the point and a solid presentation. Earned a like, favorite, and a sub. Keep up the great work.
Awesome! Welcome aboard :)
You are good at this. You need more subs.
Thansk! The channel is growing nicely :)
Oh god I had no idea about holding Z for natural forks in the road. Thanks for the brilliant video, I wish I knew these facts sooner! I'd love to see a video about nature design, filling a park with trees and bushes can be rather tedious.
Thanks for watching! I'll have a think about some ideas for natural designs :)
Watching this in bed but this will help me out a lot, thankyou for this. Earned a subscriber 😁👍
Wow....The Z key was my best friend before. But now it's my BFF! Thank you for these tips and tricks!!! Great video, sir. I've been watching some of your stuff and between you and Silv and some others, I'm learning a lot. (Subbed)
Awesome, welcome aboard. To be mentioned in the same sentence as Silv is an honour, the guy is a machine!
Keep up the great work! I'm sure you're aware that Silv just started a collaboration with De-Lady-Signer and Keralis. Should be fun to watch. I appreciate all of your guys' contributions to the Planet Coaster community.
i hate the way they do paths in this game. drives me crazy.
Nerd Painter that why I don’t play it much
@@kfergus3662 Same, paths make it frustrating to play and removes the fun
try making smaller paths and taking your time. But for in the scenario's It really sucks since it costs alot
I like the paths, but maybe thsts because I played a lot of jurassic world evolution before I started really getting into planet coaster
Planet coaster 2 tho
that select grid alone helps so much!
Just bought the game most the stuff is intuitive but I couldn’t understand how to make wider paths/edit or plazas for food courts without weird connections or boring square grids but your guides are great especially this and the scene triggers. Thanks for making these.
You’re welcome! Glad you found them useful :)
Thanks for the tips man. I just bought Planet Coaster and this video was super useful. Thank you!
This was extremely helpful! I have been playing for a while now and didn't know about most of these tricks! Thanks :)
+venusazaboy awesome! Glad you found it useful :)
Fantastic help! Trying to make a town square, how I want it to look, has suddenly become easier! Thanks!
Sometimes with priority queues the connection can get a bit glitchy not enabling you to finish the path. Click on the entrance and the exit to create a path piece at either end. Then go about the path connection.
That's a great vid man. Knew a few of these but there was plenty I learned. Liked and subbed.
+Moz MWhite welcome aboard! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks Geekism, these videos are fantastic! Really well explained and hugely helpful!
Great video, those grid paths are something I hadn't found - thanks!
Awesome, glad you got something from it :)
Just started to play this (Free on PS Plus) must admit, its awesome. Used to play Roller Coaster Tycoon years ago.
So glad I found your channel. Great tips and beautiful design.
Glad you found it too! Thanks, and welcome aboard :)
This was an excellent tutorial. Much needed, thanks!!
Thank you! This video contains everything the official "tutorial" videos don't. (They actually completely skipped the que paths)
This just popped up in my feed. Aw the old days of planco. It's come far in two years.
Wonder what will be next.
So grateful to learn some of the keyboard shorts! They've always been there, I guess, just not knowing to look. Thank you!
30k subscribers, but all your videos seem to exceed that in views. Good job.
This is fantastic! Great tutorial, looking forward to watching more of your guides :3
Thanks!
Solid video! Got lots of ideas of how to implement these tips in my new park!
Thanks :)
You earned a new sub :)
Keep it up!
Awesome :) Welcome aboard :)
Agreed. Fantastic vids and extremely helpful. Thanks a ton, Geekism!
Great job and very informative, look forward to watching some more of your videos :)
Thanks very much :)
Fantastic video, there's quite a few things I didn't know about pathing, so thank you 😁
I really enjoyed this video. You have done quite a great job.
Thank you :)
Thanks so much for this, incredibly useful tips, should be stickied on the forums!
Glad you got something from it :)
This is so full of useful info. Thanks so much !! 🙌
Thank you for teaching me
I was struggling with that path system often.
But thanks to you it's a bit easier now:)
Thank you for watching :)
Great, high quality content mate!
Thanks :)
Fairly new to Planet Coaster, this was very useful. Thank you!
would be nice if we could change the path outside our park boundaries... Keep up the good work! Thanks for the videos!
+Sashaa it really would! Thanks for watching :)
I like your stuff. You're creative. Good stuff!
Thanks very much!
Awesome videos - all four of them so far have really helped make my parks look a lot better. Is there any way you could do a guide on scenery / buildings? I feel like I don't know everything about it like you do...
Thansk very much :) With building, I kind of just make it up as I go along, but I'll try to put my thoughts into an organised manner :)
Great tips and tricks mate, subscribed.
Great! Welcome Aboard :)
Awesome! Thanks for the tips. Totally subbing.
+Savannaeve93 thanks! Welcome aboard :)

I think there is something like that in the guides category on steam.

This is really helpful! Thanks for this awesome tutorial! :D
Thanks for watching :)
Really like your tutorials, great work. But I was wondering if there is a way to change the width of a path that you already placed.
Thanks! Afraid not, it would be really useful to adjust to other sizes a la Cities: Skylines, but it doesn't seem possible at the moment :(
aww too bad, thanks for your reply
Thanks...this has been extremely informative/helpful.
I don't know if this is possible, but i was wondering if there is a way to build rides and shops directly on the paths? Great video man :) Keep up the great work!
Thanks!
Great tutorial, I really needed this!
Awesome! Thanks for watching :)
Great stuff. Thanks a lot for this I had no clue about the grid system and the plaza tips! :)
Awesome, glad you got something from it :D
Again, thanks for the tutorial!
Quick question: How do you raise and lower the flat roof smoothly, so it sits just on top of the path without clipping? I care for my visitor's feet! ; )

I didn't even know it was an option, but a few other people in the comments seem to have the same problem, glad you figured it out :)
This is an awesome vid! You are incredibly helpful, so thank you!
Thanks so much for showing this its made a great difference to my building ❤
+Fade Willow Glad you found it useful, thanks for watching :)
Thanks! Awesome guide. Learned a lot
Thanks for watching :)
The Z connection hotkey made me go :O! lol
+Zero-G-Worx it's great huh? :D
Great tips and examples! Thank you!
Thanks for watching :)
Youre a GOD!! thank you so much i was actually gettting VERY frutrated by the park visitors who refused to walk onto mym nicely build subway platform.
It would be really useful if you show in the screen the commands that you are referring to, like “z” “ctrl”
