I’m 22 years old and I gotta say I’ve been applying a lot of things you have taught me in you’re vidoes and I can honestly say my life has greatly improved and once I figured out what’s really Important to me in my life my life has been a lot happier. Thank you .
I’m betting what your pastor said was something closer to “God doesn’t need your abilities. He has all the ability needed. He needs your availability. He needs you to be like Isaiah and say ‘Here I am! Send me!’” Great video. Tons of truth!
As an electrician I was once worked for a pretty big company. There was this one person that worked for the company that everyone kind of gave him a hard time cause he was kinda goofy, worked slow and guys always would say to the foreman that he really doesn’t have the skills that a 3rd year apprentice should have. I remember one day in the trailer one of the guys asked our foreman why do they keep this guy? The foreman answered: because he’s here every day. Then the foreman asked, do you happen to know what time he gets here every morning? The guy answered no I don’t. Foreman said you don’t know because he’s here before you everyday. He said I can teach the young man skills. I’ll always remember that. Thanks for your time making these great videos
My Dad always told me,”If your on time, your late.” And I can assure you that he meant it. 😊 >Evert time I hear you compliment Mama it gives me a smile cause I think of my long gone Mom & Dad.
I'm 75 years old. When I was already retired at age 62 I got bored at home. I put Social Security on hold and went back to work as an apprentice The Chemical Plant out of Houston Texas made me a Journeyman Electrician In my first year working a shut down. They put me on the Permanent crew, I asked why you have allot of Electricians better than me the Supervisor said Jerry you are dependable.
Very important message. I didn't know how dependable I was until I started managing people. I am the one there drinking coffee a half hour early reading a magazine every day. I miss magazines. Always had one in my truck. I don't enjoy phones as a way to entertain myself. Any ways. Hope the right young men hear this message.
Good for you, Sir. I bet you never thought you'd have your own hat line. And here you are, with six hundred thousand subscribers, too. The smile says it all.
Dependability is the characteristic every masculine virtue has in common. When you consider the four "tactical virtues" from Jack Donovan's "The Way of Men": strength, courage, mastery, and honor, they all have to do with whether or not a man will "do to ride the river with" or not.
My father would be 103 years old this year if he were still alive and he used that saying often I had forgotten that thank you for jogging my memory you’ll do to ride the river with for him it was the finest compliment he could ever give you
@Eric Chandler I am glad to have served as a reminder of something so precious. Ramon Adams explains that phrase in "The Old-Time Cowhand" as originating "back in the old days when brave men had to swim herds across swollen, treacherous rivers. The act required level-headed courage; and as time passed, this phrase acquired the meanin' that the one spoken of was loyal, dependable, trustworthy, and had plenty of sand"
Your voice is soothes me no matter what you talk about. When my mind is bombarding me with suicidal thoughts and I can't breathe, I listen to you. I listen to you talk about cigars or your horses or whatever is important to you.
100% right that you can always be dependable. Today me and all the sophomores had bible displays with different activities for kindergartners and mine certainly wasn’t as good as a lot of other peoples. But at the end I helped put things away all I could and was still sweeping when most people were done and sitting down. Thanks Dwayne
I found you through learning to smoke a tobacco pipe, I also found The Pipe Cottage independently and decided I liked you two and subscribed. Then, I see that you two did a video together, then I saw that you had a WY mug in that video you did with The Pipe Cottage and looked you up and found that I'm right near you, having moved to Gillette two weeks ago! What a serendipitous series of events!

You and your wife are such fun to listen to! I really enjoy your chats and your stories. I love a good horse story. That was the third word in my vocabulary when I was a toddler. Mommy, daddy and …. Horsey!
When I was lead of the cnc department at a wood fab shop, I had an older guy working under me. He wasn't the fastest worker, he was really rough around the edges, and he liked to stay at his usual machine. However, he was always there, he stayed busy, and I knew I could count on him to get stuff done without my constant supervision. He was a bit of an odd guy, some people thought he was kind of an asshole. I enjoyed working with him, he was a no bullshit guy, but if you showed him respect, he would return it 3x over. I had better operators, faster operators, and friendlier operators, but I trusted him 100% to show up, do his job, and communicate any issues.
Most folks have so much air whistlin' through their teeth it ain't worth the listen. All blow, no show. Finding someone who will take the time out of their busy day to pull up a chair and chat a while about something they actually DO is refreshingly appealing. Bloviation ought not be a career option. Actions are worth listening to. I'm glad I found someone worth taking the time out of my busy day to listen to. The cigar is just eye candy.

This was some of the very best advice i have ever heard. Five years ago i got a job in a field that was new to me. In an office i had always worked blue collar and only had a HS diploma. I was rough around the edges and green as can be, but I was always early listened well, stayed on the ball. just being driven to be present and dependable made me more valuable that the most titlted and degree laden co-worker. 5 years in and i have tripled my income working from home. just showing up and doing the work can make one successful, its not really that complicated.
