I love that Johnny and Ruthie treated Luna with so much kindness. They were both so confident but also praised Luna and encouraged her with a quiet word. Much respect to both of them and their parents for raising great kids.
You can tell someone has worked with Luna before. She is a sweet, responsive little mare. I hope she ends up in loving hands, when she finds her (hopefully) forever home. In the meantime, I am very impressed that you brought the neighbor's kid over to ride her, rather than riding her yourself due to the weight issue, which probably would have had an impact on Luna's itinial performance. Too many people have no respect for animals or their reasonable limitations. Kudos to you for your good sense and thoughtfulness.
She looks marginally better...and it's nice to see her being allowed to have a period of Grace in which to heal up some. The kids are really sweet! Johnny's a good horseman.
Luna is amazing. Young Johnny treats Luna with so much gentleness, understanding and respect. He sure looks like he knows what he is doing. Bravo to both Johnny Senior and Junior
Johnny has all the mannerisms of a real cowboy!!! So fun to see such a young man so well trained and in his element. What great families you both have.
Johnny is not afraid of getting on any horse!👏 That kid is amazing. Luna does need more time to fill out and get her feet straightened out. Messing with her when she's being fed will help her become more social. I almost hate to see winter come. The Farm on Route 66 is so beautiful this time of year! Just means that it'll put Blake closer to coming home. ❤️
It's amazing to watch her memory kick in under Johnny's tender care and encouragement. His confidence gave her back some of her own. And Ruthie just added to that! The longing Ruthie had for Luna as *her* horse was palpable. What a sweet girl - I hope she gets her chance to have Luna as hers.
What a blessing on this Sunday morning to see Luna being ridden in the training coral by Johnny ! Thank you Alan for sharing !AND Thank you Johnny for this wonderful demonstration. You, son , ride really well ! Hombre will miss her when she is gone for a while ! Some Things change fast around The Farm on Route 66 ! If you snooze - you loose ! Blessings, Grace and Peace to you all !
Luna looks great in tack.Shes got a good stride on her considering her hooves. Definitely a kids horse in the making. Some miles on her, and shes going to do well
❤ well what lovely caring children with Luna. Quiet, deliberate in their movements not to frighten her, pat when Luna does well...... Fantastic to see, well done. Luna needs experienced caring home ❤
Luna is the horse of my childhood dreams and there's a young person out there who is going to be so lucky to have her. She's beautiful and has a lovely disposition.
Now more food and build some muscle. Slow steady progress. Alan thanks for not putting to much weight on her back for first ride. I have a real problem with people to heavy ride horses to small for them. 🐴
@@TheFarmonRoute66I think you should gift her to Johnny. They are a perfect match. I believe you said you only paid $25 for her? So far you only have invested in a trim. In any case if he puts in the months/years of work training her and someday gets too large for her, then he deserves to make the money on the resale
She's just a baby. She doesn't know the difference. What a sweetheart. Just right for those kids to get on and ride. As long a she's fed good she'll be just fine.
Johnny is a very good horseman. He is able to convey what he wants and assess what the horse knows or has been schooled in. I watch Tin Barn Farm from time to time, too. I have enjoyed watching the children of both families grow and expand their worlds and talents. Best wishes to everyone. ❤😊
Johnnie & Ruthie both are good with horses. They are great riders who treat horses with kindness & respect! Luna seems to be a quiet minded horse that would be great for people with kids.
Thanks for providing a life-saving way station for the rescue horses you foster. Your farm is a critical step toward a better future for all of them. Some commenters appear to misapprehend that you are their final stop. Tin Barn Farm is another way station. It requires many contributors to make the rescue pipeline work.
I am so impressed with Lona. Only 4 years old... I would what she comes from. .. Really hope she will have an amazing life... Good on you, saving her👍❤
Luna actually rode off nice. She looks more albino than Cremllos as AQHA now designates them. Cremellos are so susceptible to have cancer which is why they were not able to be registered for all the years before. Luna did great with Ruthie as well. What good girl. Will be wonderful to see her fill out. 💕💕From East Texas
I watch Tin Barn Farm and I am really impressed by the training they do. I watched for two or three years at least and seen Johnny climb on horses that he had to pull himself up from the saddle to get to the stirrups! He’s definitely a good horseman.
For Luna still being under weight, out of confition, with poor hooves while having an experienced light weight rider she doesnt know after going through so many recent life changes - she did pretty well.
She's doing great. You might suggest to anyone wanting to buy her, they can paint circles of black (shoe polish) around her eyes when they ride her. Supposed to help all white around eye horses in the sun. Just a suggestion. The fly mask is good when she's not being ridden. Helps her eyes in the sun and with flies.
She moves pretty smooth in spite of her feet. I think her young age is a bonus. That horse is a keeper Allen. She is so easy going. Has the makings of a bomb proof horse for kids🍀🇺🇸
I agree! I always advise people to get their kids a gentle “bomb proof” horse rather than a feisty little pony that is too small to be ridden by adults. They learn to out fox their very young riders really early on.
Wow, Luna did amazing and especially for only being 4 yrs old. She's so quiet, not a mean bone in her body. A couple hundred pounds and a little more training, and she'll make someone a real nice dependable horse. Thank you for saving her life Alan. Love and God Bless all MY farm family on Route 66 💜 ✝️ grandma Jennifer in AZ.
Luna is so quite and going to make a lovely child's pony. Johnny and Ruthie are very calm riders and kind as well. Like it that both of he riders rewarded Luna.
I’m amazed at how quiet she is for what little riding she has had. She’s looking much better…not having a colt on her and getting some real nutrition has made a big difference in a short amount of time. Very nice! ❤❤❤
Luna is looking good! She's so sweet and gentle! She'll be an awesome pony for some lucky kid! Maybe a Christmas present for someone this year! The kids did a great job riding her the first time!
what Kind Children! beautiful rider! Luna has very nice conformation. She is a sweetheart. I love the Cashel riding flymasks for riding horses with sensitive eyes. I really appreciate your good care of these horses. thank you!
Omgosh I just Love your channel Sooo Much!! Im So Impressed with Johnny, Ruthy and Especially Luna!! She has come So far in a few short weeks! Luna is such an Amazing girl!! 😍❤️ I quickly subscribed to Tin Barm Farm! I can not wait to check out their videos and get caught up! Im definitely keeping my eye on Luna over there. It is So Wonderful to be able to follow these heartthrobs even after they leave your farm! ❤️🙏
Your right Johnny can ride just about anything. That right there will help sell her when she is ready. I have been following Tin Barn Farm for quite a while.
Gee, that was lovely ❤Great job Luna & kids💖💖💖 Love that they were super gentle & kind with her & Luna so willing & compliant with everything; saddling, backing up, trotting & all…& only 4 years old to have gone through so much already…broken in, starved & foaled💝💝💝
She has a well let down twist. Once all those muscles build back she's gonna be fast when needed and a quiet mount. The hoofs are definitely slightly slowing her stride. She still getting use to that change but consistently riding after the next trim is gonna be key. Wow only 4, how kool is that😍..Make her a great mount guys...she already on the road to that❤.Just beautiful 😍
I would love to take and have both Luna and Hambre together as my own, especially since they both went through hell and survived together. They are beautiful horses and should be given to someone who will love them as they should be loved and cared for. Love is what keeps us together and gives us hope and survival when things go wrong in life. It is love that unites us all together. May they both find good and forever loving homes, they deserve it all…God bless everyone who has given these horses a second chance in life. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Apparently the easiest way to tell the difference between cremello and perlino is to look at the mane and tail. Cremello has creamy white and perlino has more red/pink color. That's why I'm leaning towards perlino 😊
@@TheFarmonRoute66 Think the only way to be sure is through a test. I'm not an expert by any means. To make things even more confusing there is the smoky cream which looks like cremello and perlino. If you did the test you'll get lots of views. Only thing that's 100% is she's a double dilute and will be absolutely stunning once she's filled out ❤️
Google says: Cremellos are homozygous cream chestnuts, and have a cream colored body with a cream or white mane and tail. Perlinos are homozygous cream bays, which also have a cream-colored body but a mane and tail that may be somewhat more reddish in color than a cremello. Both cremello and perlino horses have light blue eyes and pink skin. The cream dilution gene is caused by a genetic mutation in the MATP gene, which plays a role in melanin production.
That was fun. I think Luna looks sooo much better. She wasn’t in as much distress as Hambre but was heartbreakingly neglected looking. Now with no ribs protruding and with her hooves getting care she seems well on her way to be some youth’s perfect horse.
Johnnie is very brave to do her first ride and did a great job with her! His sister is also great with horses! I wouldnt hesitate to turn her over to them for a few weeks. She will come back a different horse, much better!

For a 4 year old plus being starved you can't get any better than that! ❤What a good girl
It's so heartwarming to see you and those wonderful kids treating that poor horse with love and kindness ❤️.
