- Got a call on a Sunday afternoon that a Toyota Tacoma that was stuck in Hells Gate on Hells Revenge Trail. He had gotten into a situation and had sucked oil into the cylinders. His buddy was there but when they were winching his truck was getting pulled down also. So I headed out to lend a hand. I got there and figured I would just hook up and pull him up, done it a bunch of times. I don't know how much stuff was under that camper shell but it was way heavy. I finally just ran a longer line out to pull him to the top and flat ground. Then they were gonna pull the plugs, clean the engine out and get it running again. So I headed back out. Then of course there's more random moving footage... Trust me, I'm hoping there's an end more than you guys. Thanks everyone for watching and supporting us.

Rory, a little feedback -- the video taken from the frame perspective of the vehicle-frame is amazing, and totally unique to your channel. From that angle you get an amazing view of the vehicle working, the terrain, and great perspective views of the distant scenery and trail. Keep the great videos coming.

I don’t take not filming as a bad UA-camr, if anything it makes you a good one. Not caring about getting every shot and taking car of the matter at hand. Respect Rory

The agree 100%, I can’t stand negative people that think they know everything! I don’t blame Rory one bit for being upset with the people watching and negative comments! Rory, I am enjoying the picture-in-a picture videos from the 2 perspectives. For the weenies with their panties in a twist that don't like the under carriage shots while driving, you've got the in-cab view. For the rest of us who enjoy it all, you've got the in-cab view.
Keep doing what you're doing... like I need to tell you that. The weenies can go pound desert sand.

The camera shots are awesome on the solo jobs. Some ppl may not like it, but i really enjoy it. Rory and the boys are great entertainment

I love those 3/4 ton Tacomas with every accessory on it!
Tacos are compact/midsize pickups. they load them up with 7-800 lbs worth of gear and accessories, put oversize wheels and tires on them and then are bewildered why their stock drivetrain can’t power it up a black diamond trail.
The clutch in Trail Mater must be a frightening piece of equipment.
It's actually a stock Luke clutch that's all skilled driving from rory

Those old big iron machining tools from the 40's, 50's are so damn heavy. I've been in houses and basements, that I'm just stunned to see a mill or a lathe sitting there . I'm asking how the hell the got it in there, one old timer dug down to his foundation took out a section of wall . Then brought the equipment in , rebuilt the wall and filled the foundation back in .that's determination.

11:20 is that an "Iron Worker", can't tell for sure on my cell. I had one late '90's, when the contract ended, someone threw it in a roll-off scap bin.

As much grunt as Mater has that had to be one heavy Taco. The move looks to be going well. Overheating cameras kind of go hand in hand with filming in Utah. Thanks to Justin's good editing we don't even know when it happens. We just get a different view of the scenery. Thanks for sharing.

Rory we had overheat problems on gopros and I bought a cheap roll of white duct tape or masking tape and it solved the problem worth a shot

Tinfoil wrap as reflectors. Or bonus points if you weld something up from old heat reflectors from a scrapped SxS exhaust. Screens being off will help, also, if you aren't already doing that.

Moving your shop when 2/3 of it is a junk yard can't be easy. If I were to do it I would get two crains and 2-3 trucks with low boy trailers. Then you can have the crains almost constantly loading and unloading while the trucks are looping between shops. It would likely only take half a day. That isn't the cheapest option but it would be the fastest, safest and easiest.
The heat is bad on everything my friend, phones too!

Hey Rory - As I am sure you know by now, some dude is talking trash about you concerning parts from that very white Jeep. I watched his video and this is the comment I left for him: "Respectfully, Ben, I believe that you read the situation incorrectly. Everyone knows that Rory is a stand-up guy. You are presenting yourself as one, too. Now here is why I think you went off the track: He offered you the axle. That morphed into you using his lift, using his tools, standing around filming, taking his time, then OBTW we need more parts, go get them, install them, and so on. You went further into it than anyone would have expected, and all you offered was 'views' and 'feedback'. That's not how it works in the real world between stand-up people. You should have done something tangible to reciprocate and WITHOUT BEING ASKED. He doesn't want your $200, he wants man-to-man respect and acknowledgement. Not empty Tweets or reviews. Buy him and his team lunch, send Rory and his GF out for dinner with you picking up the tab, send a gift basket with snacks: anything. Rory does not give a whit about 'views'; he just does his thing and if anyone watches, wonderful, and if not it is the great so what. If you've seen his vids you know that he already revised how he runs his shop because of all the folks that want special favors. I furthermore believe that if you had offered to do anything like that he would have refused. Because that is the give-and-take of true stand-up people. Having never seen one of your videos, you come across as whiny and entitled. If Rory was as 'mean' as you state he is he likely would have had one of his guys rip that axle right back out. Because, without knowing and most likely inadvertently, you insulted him and his hospitality. Holy cow, that you would make a 20 minute video about this - - I hope you realize that this is a life lesson for you."

Trail mater a rocking don’t come a knocking
Who else watches these videos to re-live their youth? I grew up with a dad who was an illiterate machinist. He could, and did fix ANYTHING. Literally, anything. Rory is his spirit animal (RIP Dad). One of his babies was a 1960's GMC wrecker we called "Bertha". Bertha brought entire bits of our house to our property, built the machine shop, dropped a piece of I beam on my head (while I was perched on top of the '69 GMC pickup that we used for hay and had to jump start via crossing the starter). Good times. Good times.

I had the same problem with my GoPros over heating. The solution was to remove the internal battery from the GoPro and connect an external battery only. The summer temp plus heat from the internal battery is causing the shut down. To connect an external battery you will need to purchase a GoPro Media Mod. I hope this helps.
