First thought is that Trail Mater is a beast and Rory has confidently and competently trained that beast. When you're working with someone who's not part of your team, the unexpected can happen--it takes some time working together as a team to learn to think alike and apply past experience in tandem. Lessons were learned and everyone survived to enjoy another day. Honestly it kind of looked like Paul towing Ben at the Off Road Wrecker Games for a moment. It's always entertaining and educational to watch your videos. Thanks!

What you're not perfect? You're not perfect. Nobody is. Part of what your viewers are drawn to is you live in the real world, do a real job, and you show reality. Another part of what attracts and keeps your audience is you also show how you deal with it. And that's more important than owning the mistake. How you deal with it.

Thanks for keeping it real! Also, for leaving the muttered "shit" in the edit I'm impressed with the new guy; I'm hoping it was on purpose, he's a genius or an idiot. 999 times out of 1,000 towing like that would have been a non issue. You might be better off with rigid cross links or non-customer brakeman.

It only takes a moment for things to go sideways. Even a crew as experienced as Rory and Mike have issues at times. The part that impressed me the most was how the situation was handled afterward. Check the driver then take care of the situation, no panic, no rushing around and making the situation worse. Just cool, smooth operators.
I should have mentioned this during the wrecker games, but Rory and team put on a masters class of off-road recovery. They may not have been as entertaining (destructive), but they did an excellent job of traversing the trail with a vehicle in tow.

If a pair of rear wheels are fully locked or fully spinning that will always bring the back end around. That was like watching the Wrecker Games. Matt, Merlin and the others are never going to let you forget this one... Great recovery none the less. Keep up the great work.

You know what folks, I may have said this before but there isn't 1 single pro tow operator who either hasn't made a school boy error or a simple "oh s*&t" mistake. The big part is acknowledging our mess ups and learning from them. Rory knew what went wrong and lesser folk would have railroaded the tow passenger and blamed him. Rory, your top bloke and know your trade well. I'd love to try your type of recovery which here in blighty we'd be sacked for immediately 😂. Total respect for you and your team mate. P. S, I'd still love to see a jacked up, 4x4 short bed slider doing your job😊, do you think such a truck would be possible??

Rory, I am not an expert in off road recovery, but I am a sailor. Your spring lines need greater distance. If you put a bar against the front tires of the vehicle being towed, ratchet straped the front axel, with eyelets on the ende. On the tow rig, you have a bar that fits into the receiver that is as wide as the vehicle, also with eyelets on the ends. Your spring lines would be much more effective. Thats how we do it on ships. Maybe that would help the lateral movement on the towed vehicle.
