My brother bought this model outboard motor new as a kid, but his engine was like yours but water cooled. I have that little outboard now, and I have not run it in years. The boat that I have it on here (somewhere), I believe was a Sterling model boat kit (wooden) that he had built for it. Without the drag of a electric backup motor, it was very fast! Guess I should think about getting it out this coming summer here in Michigan. Thanks for the fun video.
When I was a small boy we had a 1958 Chris craft cavalier with a 50 horse Johnson outboard on it it brings back a lot of memories of an era gone by beautiful boat to boot and look similar to the design you have thank you for sharing it's really made me smile brought back a lot of great memories
I found a early 1980's RC boat, german made Plastic hull called Monica at the local Goodwill last spring. It was in great shape, still in its original box but the electronics had all shorted out. It was a major flaw with the boat and they all did it. As soon as water got past the bees wax they used as water proofing,it would destroy the electronics. I ended up adding all new servos, motor and receiver. Its is a trawler. I enjoy cruising around the small lake close by with that boat. I added LEds' s and have a smoke genererator I still need to install. You did a great job on that boat,I hope to find such a deal yet. I love the wooden ships myself and have even built a schooner.
Man, That's really cool, You did a nice job on the Boat, I think it scoots along good for that little outboard, I have seen them all my life, I even had the little twin cylinder K&B Sea Fury outboard back in 1973. I tried to run it a couple of times but it never got going. I didn't have an electric starter back then, I was trying to pull start it. I really like the back up electric motor, Next time I run a gas or steam powered boat, I will sure install an electric retrieval motor. I had a .40 sized unlimited hydro for a year or two, it was too much trouble to paddle out to get it every time it died.
A delight to see. I have 2 of these engines and have often wondered how well they would perform. Thanks to your videos Inow know and don't need to worry too much if I never find the time to build a small boat myself
That brought back memories, as my brother and I spent hours fooling around with .049 engines. We never did anything with them, except run them mounted on wooden boxes with airplane propellers, planning how we would build the airframe for them. They sound the same...
Like auxiliary electric power for when engine quits. I had a couple outboards like this but never got them to run reliably. Flywheel/pulley always came loose . Yours runs very nicely.
nicely done! The boat as well as the videos! I've never seen such an ancient outboard in action before. Thanks also for also showing how you get it to run!
this is really an amazing RC. personally I don't like the fact that there is no throttle except the e-motor to slow it down. I love the name as well. Sea-prius. is there any way to add a larger fuel tank? Really cool to see this go from a POS half assed put together boat to the running beauty it is now. Great job.
Tony Wright some people convert smaller fuel tanks too larger fuel tanks on RC nitro cars, planes, helicopters etc so they can run the engine for longer.
It may not be a race winner but it is very pretty and unique and if you really wanted to go faster just put in a bigger electric motor without sacrificing any of the character.
Although small engines can overheat, they tend to run cooler than larger engines, so the engine is simply air cooled. The tiny fins dissipate easily the heat, exactly as in the case of an air cooled motorcycle engine.
Thanks, try on eBay... www.ebay.com/sch/Toys-Hobbies/220/i.html?_sop=10&_armrs=1&_dmd=1&_pcats=220&_from=R40&_nkw=%28atwood%2Cwen%20mac%2Camf%2Cwenmac%29%20outboard&LH_PrefLoc=2&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684
This is a first, I have seen many model outboard engines, but very few running and none actually pushing a boat, until now! Well done!
That was great! I have had one of those little outboard motors for at least 30 years-I have never run it. Nice to know how well the work!
Great job; I always like to see people bring old models and engines to life! It's like saving a small piece of history...

Brought a tear to my eyes..grew up on a Chris Craft.. Lake Saint Clair and Huron..fabulous
beautiful. 100% pure vintage model boating fun.
Beautiful. Superb little boat and engine. Looks great on the water.
I love the respect you've paid this old girl. She's a delight.
Nice restoration. I remember always wanting a Cox SeeBee boat. Those outboards are really neat !!! It`s a Jewel.

Vraiment super sympa ce vieux moteur sur cette vieille coque ! J'adore ! Juste ce qu'il faut pour en faire un modèle réussi ! Félicitations !
She is a lovely lady and looks so good out on the big pond! Fantastic scale speed, perfecto! :))
Thank Tom! You have always some kind words for my videos!
Very nice looking boat.

Very enjoyable video good job on the resto. What kind of jerk would dislike a special interest video like this one.
Cool video. Thanks for posting.

It is really cool. He needs a few figures in it though. A guy fishing would be great!
Hi gee if you have 2 would u be interested in selling 1 let me know thanks

Nice boat with some nice detail
nicely done! The boat as well as the videos!

Those were the sea fury engines my dad and his friend owed a few of them long ago very cool to see again .
that gets along really nicely!
Nice job. Beautiful boat.
Another great video I liked the camera on the boat
Love it what a beast great stuff mate 🤙🤙🤙
Excellent work.

Very Very nice -> Fantastic Job
Super cool , Great job man .. Thumbs up !!
Goes good.. I enjoyed, thanks for sharing
Mine always overheated and smelled bad. I always tried to start them with a pull cord. Well done!
very nice look you have achieved
I just gave one of those from the 60s to a friend who ...services outboards !
Hey, that looks like fun!
Awesome model friend. Please run it often
Nice! glad that Sea-prius finally made it out to sea! (vs. swimming pool) 😃😃😃😃
nice boat
Might not be fast but makes up for it by being waaaay cool
Lovely job. Maybe you could add a carb from an RC engine and external fuel tank?
Nice,i like it,hundred Points from Germany;-)
awesome! very nice,
That is awesome
superb well done :)
That looks like an OK Cub cylinder head,,,I have many RC and old control line engines planes and radios here but too old to see to fly any more...LOL!
hard starting little thing eh? very awesome scale speed

Nitro Revolution RC Why do you need to fit a larger fuel tank?
Tony Wright some people convert smaller fuel tanks too larger fuel tanks on RC nitro cars, planes, helicopters etc so they can run the engine for longer.
i have a friend here in New Zealand with a full scale version of that - exact same color scheme
It may not be a race winner but it is very pretty and unique and if you really wanted to go faster just put in a bigger electric motor without sacrificing any of the character.
60 years and sweet as a nut!
nice!!!!! old school ;-)
Well done mate she's beautiful I am jealous....... where did you get the motor?
Brett
It's a AMF Wen Mac outboard, try on eBay : they appear regularly but are often pricey...
Thank you rapmoz :).
Why not hook a servo up to the engine so It you can change the speed easier?
That glow motor has no throttle, the carb is basically fully open all the time.
this thing is amazing, looks like its going alot faster than what it is, how do you keep the engine cool though?
Although small engines can overheat, they tend to run cooler than larger engines, so the engine is simply air cooled.
The tiny fins dissipate easily the heat, exactly as in the case of an air cooled motorcycle engine.
now i understand why you installed an electric engine on it too
One of my favorite videos on UA-cam. Thanks for taking the time to restore this and video. I believe that is an Atwood motor right?
good good good , gas electric hybrid for boat ; great idea.
dude, that's awesome. were did you get that motor?
Thanks, try on eBay... www.ebay.com/sch/Toys-Hobbies/220/i.html?_sop=10&_armrs=1&_dmd=1&_pcats=220&_from=R40&_nkw=%28atwood%2Cwen%20mac%2Camf%2Cwenmac%29%20outboard&LH_PrefLoc=2&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684
Why dont you try 2 cylinder nitro outboard
Cool.
this must be a really old camera
wish you were my neighbour lol great
What is the motor you used? thanks
It's a Wen Mac outboard. Nowadays, these engines are not very rare (but not very cheap) they appear regularly on eBay...
Okay thanks :D
Model wakeboard as well? Hehe
I’m surprised it isn’t water cooled
my dad have this boat in real life
My idea , make a war ship launch fire work
Not the fastest thing around.
great!:) ;)
I'm korean
haha sea prius
