A wonderful collection of rare engines you have. I am 63 and going all the way back to my youth when I first had "the bug" for RC models. a good friend and neighbour showed me some of his collection. He had a diesel that was running and yes, he had plans to put it in a model and fly it. This same man was also into micro-light aircraft, he built and flew them. My friend actually flew one micro-light he built from the east coast of the US to Oshkosh for the annual meet. This man was WW2 pilot with service in the Philippines.
All began in 1879 when Victor Tatin made the first model airplane to take off using its own power after a run on the ground. It was powered by a compressed air motor . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Tatin. The first petrol engines were used for model speed boats during the early 1900's and for model airplanes in 1911.
I used to play 1:8 scale RC cars in the early 80s. I truly liked the performance of the OPS engines over K&B and OS Max, in fact I've kept these cars and engines through the years! Your video is awesome!
when i was 12 i've met Gualtiero Picco at a local high speed model car race track. He was taking part to the race which consist of reaching the highest speed on a 15 meter diameter ring whith a bullet shaped alluminum/carbon fibre car linked to a pole in the center of the ring trough a steel wire. Picco's cars were able to reach over 300km/h with a 10cc engine. you couldn't even see them running, they were way too fast! and the noise those engine use to make... earpiercing! hahaha
That ad at 3:40 says that among the first hundred buyers of that diesel engine 10 would receive various high-valued prizes, including "a famous American 13cc engine". The irony!
Awesome craftsmanship in the making of those engines, I think they would be worth more due to limited numbers of them. I have a number of early model engines I found over the years, maybe some are very rare as well. Thank you for showing these and the excellent information.
I have one of the rc boat kits , 1 of the 5, that was designed to fit the OPS b20 bridge twin. My family owned a hobby shop in the mid 1970s and got hold of one boat kits including the engine. Its heavy duty and about 5 ft long
Wow those motors are amazing. Great video two thumbs up. I can't believe you bought that out board motor for 40 pounds your so lucky. I would love to own one those B.2O motors.
You would probably be interested in a motor I was planning to list soon. Abitar Predator 1.20 DOHC 4-valve. Excellent condition. I had planned to actually fly it some years back but didn't get around to it. It really belongs on a stand as you've been doing.
Very nice and wonderful craftsmanship. Camera tip: Set the lens for manual focus and adjust. If you do not have manual focus, use a background that is flat and void of texture and pattern.

Very interesting collection you have, I have an RCV engine which is a beehive shaped engine capable of turning a huge prop. I have, unfortunately, not managed to get it running so far, but if anyone is interested in it, I may be coerced into selling it.
Great video, but it’s cruel to show us all these beautiful engines but not let us hear them running! Please do a video with the engines running and revving
Super collection j adore le plus le moteur ops b20 est ce que tu pourrais pas faire une vidéo où tu le démonte et où on peut mieux le voir svp? Ou peut-être même une vidéo où tu le démarre 😂😂
There's some even more bizarre eastern European boat racing nitro motors that have multiple cylinders of different sizes each and wild porting and really bizarre cylinder placement
A nice collection of engines, but none of them is diesel. If you want to see REAL model diesel engines, search you tube for "find hansen". Hope you enjoy!
@Nick : You're right, Find Hansen diesels are marvelous (and i would love to own one of them!) but this video shows only production engines, not one of a kind engines made by skilled machinists.
I think, i didn't make my point clear. The Find Hansen engines are real diesel engines, the fuel is injected in the combustion chamber and there the mixture is ignited by high temperatures through high compression and there is no carb and no glowplug. These other engines are NO diesels. they mix fuel and air OUTSIDE the combustion chamber.
Hi, did you ever make a video for this engine you posted pictures of on rcuniverse? Here's the link to the thread www.rcuniverse.com/forum/glow-engines-114/5644854-cipolla-tsv-four-stroke-engine.html
clever clickbait.............most of the views are probably honda fans cuz they seen the "b20" thumbnail........................... only reason im here lmao
That b20 is a work of art. I would love to hear one run. The rest of the engines are nice, but the b20 stands out the best.

Very cool stuff. I had no idea they were making model engines in the 40's. I will have to look up when it all started.

rustymotor e
the b 20 reminds me of a honda type r engine
it's supposed to. They actually have a B series engine with a red valve cover. b16, b18 etc
Mitch C yes
Christian Lilly looks more like a snowmobile engine
well its the same output
Thee Adjudicator Honda used to produce the most power per cubic inch of displacement.
Lucky boy ,Thank for sharing Christian!
Great video, thanks for sharing your awesome collection of awesome RC engines

Lovely engines and I would class them as pretty rare as well as very very desirable!

Very nice collection of interesting engines
thank you for the presentation, i enjoyed reading the history.

NICE, great hobby and Investment.....
WOW. Stunning engine.
The vertical fins on the Helium don't seem very well suited to cooling in a horizontal air flow.
Very interesting engines . Thumbs up !
Will you upload more videos?? You have a good video keep up man

Not much about £40 on eBay
Awesome collection my friend
It was too pricy a hobbie back in the 70s, but I looked at articles and wanted to build them. Thank you.
Please please PLEASE make a video of them all running, and see if you can install them all in models. That would be amazing!

When I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was a replica of a Honda B series engine
It definitely looked like a Dohc engine.
I had one of those boat engines when I was younger and now I wish I had kept it but I did not now back then
Great video, but it’s cruel to show us all these beautiful engines but not let us hear them running! Please do a video with the engines running and revving

Have you a link about these strange engines?
Nice collection. I think you should have a Wankel in it though.
Good but could do with audio
U should send me 2 of those mortor s cuz if be she'll do get running again
I have a MICRON boxer 5cc at home...
I thought the mini wankel rotary would have made the list, but what do I know..
You're right, I had thought about it but these engines are even rarer than the OS Wankel.
That was deeply pornographic, I love it!
Of course you didn't buy them at the current market price
Like helium c 6
