- Holy.. Crap. I have no words for just how much I love FFXIV and the journey of feels that this game puts us through. I hope one day we can see Hades and Hythlodaeus again! I LOVE THEM TOO MUCH LOL.

my favourite bit about Estinien saying "Alphinaud get back!" during the Hydaelen fight is it's actually Alisae who's in a dangerous position, which is why Alphinaud says "WHAT?"

One of the ugliest maps in the game
So fun little fact about the Hydaelyn fight: This fight was talked about in a letter, and it was confirmed that they deliberately designed the trust AI so that each character will fail mechanics at certain rates and in certain ways...except Y'shtola, who always plays the fight 100% perfectly, because of course she'd know all the mechanics.
She's a living danger dorito!
Alisaie back flipping out of the stack marker is classic Alisaie
The reason why Y'shtola plays perfectly is because she sees aether and the fight literally takes place in the Aetherial sea. And not because she's just Y'shtola.
I picked the scions to fight against Hydaelyn. There was this AOE skill that attacks in a circle spot around Hydaelyn and everyone runs away from her, except Alisaie and Urianger. Thats when Estinien shouts something like, "Alphinaud, watch out!" and Alphinaud who was beside him and in a safe spot away from AOE, yells back in confusion, "What?!". Apparently Estinien got confused of Alisaie and Alphinaud in the battle and that cracked me up.

When Hythodaeus said that bit at 22:14, I literally started bawling because I got super connected to them only for it to end so quickly.
Elidibus already told us the outcomes of traveling back in time and we can't change the past, yadda yadda - that completely escaped my brain as soon as I saw Elpis. That whole level was like a dream that I didn't want to wake up from, but I had to which that completely sucked. When Emet said his farewell words, I was emotionally rekt.
the Term for that is: Predestination Paradox, It is also known as the causal loop paradox. yeah kinda sucks since we know wich way this gonnna go....
This expansion was such a rollercoaster of emotions. I loved every second of it. I still can't believe we went from Lahabread to characters like Hyth, Elidibus, Emet and Venat.

Hear me out, I think Zenos doesn't get nearly as much credit as he does. In a game where the biggest tragedies come from people being unable to find a meaning in their lives to hating the answers they find, Zenos is the only character who already found his "answer" and remains true to it.
And it drives home Endwalker's theme of a person us being able to continue living regardless of our inevitable end because even if Zenos found his Answer, he still died disappointed. He really was one of the few characters who embraced their purpose in a twisted and yet, pure, way.
Tbh, Ishikawa really pulled off his one-dimensionality and turned it into a great foil to our character and the overall theme of Endwalker.
I think he was satisfied with the fight, but he would have liked going out as the winner. He would have still been dying from his wounds like you were but he'd still send you back to your friends, so his final scene wouldn't change too much.
I think Zenos is also the perfect embodiment of Ultima Thule.
If he wins, he is peerless and has no purpose anymore, like the Omnicron.
If he loses, you were an obstacle he could never surpass, like the Ua.
Either way, it was the end of the road for him.
I think in those last moments, where you see your life flash before your eyes, it might be Zenos seeing that thru his stolen Echo. I think he finally understood what gave the WoL's life meaning, so his final act was to call down the teleporter, because he wants the WoL, his only friend in his mind, to live. He realized what he wanted to give the WoL wasn't what the WoL actually wanted or needed, so he gives them their life back.
@@wyrmoffastring I mean, even without using the Resonant on WoL he started to doubt himself before that. WoL was indeed his mirror, but the reflection of what he could have been if he had ran away from Garlemald's *nurture*.
He was so entrenched into his idea that existence was pure misery if you didnt feel mortal and risk it all, that is was human *nature*. A feeling he projected on WoL, thinking they experienced the same thing (and on everyone else).
In the end he realized he could have had a happy life all along.
I think they handled Zenos as best as they could, fitting into the overarching theme of the expansion. And that deus ex machina against the Endsinger was pog.
When found your content I was just introduced by a friend in the Free Trial of FFXIV and cause I was new I avoided your ffxiv content for so long. I was so happy could be there in stream for the last zones and was lucky to be part of your last trial

Even as someone who's really only experienced ff14 through crystaaahhhl, this shit hits. Especially because this line right here reminds me of Zack in crisis core, with the living legacy line
The instant tears at the hug from Moenbryda's parents was absolutely me too. I was dry eyed most of the game but that just instantly wrecked me.
I had a pretty bad week and had to fight my inner demons today to not let myself control from my depression feelings.
To go with you through some of the most emotional parts of the endwalker helped me a lot, since I could cry a little bit and laugh which really helped me to feel now better. This video was truly important for me, you have an incredible aura, thank you for this beautiful video and for being so natural and real 💙
This is so good. Really wanted more highlights from Elpis cutscenes which are missing here though. But still, amazing & fun stuff!

I do think it's interesting that people hate Zenos despite liking other one-note characters. Though, I do agree his background presence in EW is a little weird, but he does have actual moments of interest. I guess I just never fully hated him in StB and enjoyed the direction they went with for his part in EW.
I liked his end in endwalker. I felt like I understood him
I didn't think he added a ton to the early part of EW (though it was worth it for the face he made when Fandaniel yeeted himself), but everything after that was really good.
I was worried they'd try to give him some kind of redemption arc, which I don't think would have worked at all. He realized he had to help us in the end, but it was still for *completely* selfish reasons, and that feels much more true to his character.
Also, the amount of emotion his voice actor packed into that last "I..." is insane.
@@17cupsofcoffee I do agree. I also think it's interesting to juxtapose a character you cannot forgive despite causing comparably minor trouble with a character many do forgive despite killing uncountably many people for non-justifiable reasons
@@totalmadness3561 I believe the reason why Hades gets vastly more forgiveness despite having significantly higher body counts is due to the different types of selfishness driving their goals.
Hades only gave a damn about his people and the original Etheirys. The end goal was always to return things to how they were, no matter the cost. He was to be a hero for his people and his people alone. And to be fair they existed first and were forcibly taken away.
Zenos on the other hand only gave a damn about himself and only himself. Every sacrifice was made only to get his salty runback. No amount of mental gymnastics could give Zenos justification.

Thank you for confirming it that the best line of Endwalker is in Ktisis, from Emet and his legacy. Shiver shocks even after days and hearing about it again now.
And not gonna lie, the minute I saw the Papalymo reference, I went out the duty and picked up the Scion vets: Thancred, Urianger and Y’shtola. Quite rewarding.

People complained about the garlemald encounter being hard even tho it was supposed to be. Can't have challenging content in casual msq!
@@pluna3382 The problem with the Garlemald solo duty was that it was _long_ which means if you screwed up near the end of it, you had a *lot* of replaying to do. Hard battles are okay when there's not 15+ minutes to replay. Nothing is more frustrating than failing something and then having to re-do 15+ minutes of play to get back to the part you messed up on. That, and time limits usually rub people the wrong way. I hate seeing a giant timer there, and not knowing where I'm supposed to go, and having very little ability to heal, it's like... one small mistake and its all over. That, and it didn't help that the first few weeks of Endwalker were "if you DC, you probably ain't getting back on for hours", and a long solo duty with a low margin of error (pre-nerf) + the possibility of DCing or crashing made for an extremely stressful experience. The duty itself was nice and all, but the stress and anxiety made it very not-fun.

You can get the "Starbird" (we all know who it is) minion from the last dungeon. Or be a lucky idiot like me, thinking it was an MSQ reward until my friend complains on whether they got scammed about the drop, because it dropped on my very first run with trust so I didn't have to even roll on it (seriously, I thought you default get it as you complete the dungeon since it just popped up in my inventory :p).
The minion has been with me ever since... I usually grow bored of a minion so quick and annoyed at it getting into the way so I never had one out for more than 10 min but this... I just can't.

In a game full of masterstrokes, they managed to take the expected Garlemald narrative and completely subvert our expectations and tell a story so raw and unflinching that I'm going to think about it for as long as I live.
