    • @sunshine3914

      If it’s been used, could be the air filter is dirty.
      If it’s new, could be it was transported or stored incorrectly. Keep it in upright position for at least 24 hours before plugging in.

    Is my unit bad or is the only mode the temp numbers change via the pressing the buttons on the unit or remote is in COOL mode..(auto and dry it beeps but doesn't change)..In the book it says in AUTO mode the temp is set according to room temp🤨..I don't know if the display is showing the temp in the room or where I set it to turn off at.. this is the first window unit I've ever had that I really had to sit and think about the buttons and the controls 🤔..the number just changed from 70 to 71 without a beep or me pushing anything in COOL mode..They may all be like this now I'm haven't had a new one in 7 years.

You have to take it out and blow dry it with a hair dryer .... I also put a piece of insulated foam material down on the inside on unit where when i put the grill back on it pushes against the grill and seal off any concentration getting in there when it run below 69 degrees..Whala has never happen again /. Yes they have that issue not no seal at all there...The beeping noise is a warning sound that something is not working properly it the board going crazy from moister present on that little board behind the grill .... Just purchased this same brand with the same BTUs. Two things concern me about it; it takes a few minutes before cool air discharges from it, was as the smaller one it replaced was immediately cold. And the top starts to sweat within 5 - 10 minutes.

I’ve brought it in from outside for the winter and I unscrewed all the screws, managed eventually to lift the case off but it’s still attached at the control panel and everything else is fixed to the bottom panel with caulk (that’s rotten and breaking down now). • @skip741x3
      @skip741x3 2 місяці тому

      I just put the 8,000btu one in a sliding bedroom window...wasnt that hard.. there are simple insttructions on youtube if u search... basically, you dont used the expanding wings that come with the ac... the window can be slid in to match the size of ur unit... install on the AC, the to rail that screws onto the top of it.. place ac in window frame with slider fully open and I put the bottom mounts set in front of the casement slider ,not outside of the slider...I then used a 24" long 3/4 x 1.5" wood trim to go between the top rail on AC and the window frame..that keeps ac from falling backward.. then slid the window to fit snug against ac..it cant fall out and all thats left is cut plexiglass or wood, to fit the space thats open above the ac.. really not that hard. a video would explain it at a glance.

      Is it just a little condensation or more than that?

    I might consider on getting me a window A/C cause my light bill is super high $292 just to run the central air unit to keep my place cool. I stay in a trailer so it's kinda rough

      I have to use one in my bedroom because it's too hot for my central a/c to keep up.

      Yes at least with a window unit you can just do one room and potentially save some money!

    None of the screws will fit

    • @5MinuteFixit
      @5MinuteFixit  5 років тому

      The 4 small screws are for the top and they are made to be a little tight so they grip well.

      5 Minute Fixit the small screws wont grip on mine

      sgtdestroy555 there is a foam strip under the top rail try pressing down on the rail firmly and screwing them in.

    Just bought one today to replace my GE 8K that only lasted a year. Thankfully I purchased the extended warranty because it had just went over the original 1 year warranty. I replaced it with this model (purchased the extended warranty), everything went together great, all the parts were with it and my house is cool again. Very happy so far. Good vid, thanks.

    What does eco mean?

    • @5MinuteFixit
      @5MinuteFixit  2 роки тому +1

      Eco brings the room down to the temp you have set then turns “off” the unit and will periodically turn on to check the temp and if it is too high it will cool it back to within range again. Hopefully this helps, thank you for watching!

      The same unit, I just purchased, doesn’t sound that loud. And it’s much quieter that the GE 6000 BTU it replaced.

    Great video - very informative... I have also purchased this air conditioner and even a TCL TV which I am very happy with so that was one of the main reasons I went ahead and purchase the a/c.

      David J be careful because the one I bought almost burned my home down. The reset button has some kind of burnt motor oil looking stuff that started leaking everywhere til it went flat like a flat tire. LITERALLY went flat. Who in their RIGHT mind would fill a reset button with fluid? And fluid that can leak out? This is very very dangerous.

    Be careful people this almost burned my home down. The reset button has some kind of burnt motor oil looking stuff that leaked out everywhere til the SOFT PLASTIC button was completely flat like a flat tire. LITERALLY! Who the HELL would put liquid in a reset button? And liquid that can leak out and DID? I had this same unit for only one year also. But would that matter? Liquid in a reset button that leaks out?

    Can this ac work if I put it sideways??

    • @5MinuteFixit
      @5MinuteFixit  Рік тому +2

      No, there is oil in the condenser part of the AC unit and it is made to only run in the horizontal position. Hopefully this helps! Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven't already! Thank you!
