If you're shopping for an AC online be aware this is not exactly a thick solid construction like they used to make. Maybe cheap AC are like this now, and I suppose it doesn't matter too much, but it seems almost like a toy AC compared to the 8 year old Maytag AC I got for around the same price. It's much smaller though. Note how the sun shines through the thin styrofoam on his vents. It's the only thing between the inside and the outside, besides the outer metal case. That bothers me personally. I mean it's ok and the compressor keeps the room nice and cool, but it's a polished kind of cheap that makes it appear more solid than it actually is. I worry it will break suddenly after a few years or is unable to be recharged with freeon. It's built from what I imagine to be the absolute minimum of parts possible. Mine has an annoying rattle unless I pull the filter out 1/2 inch and put padding between under the front panel. It aims up and down ok, even better if it breaks(if you try to break it intentionally push it down not up. maybe you shouldn't try) but the left and right fins are very short and have limited aim. The remote is oddly solid though. I think you could probably destroy the entire AC if you threw the remote at it enough times. Anyway this video was helpful. I wasn't sure if mine was missing a back plate to stop the sun and stop it from amplifying outside noise. I'm not sure why there's a small strip of padding above the outer fan cable but mine was adhered improperly which makes it look like something important fell off.
I was wondering if you could measure the actual vent outlet temperature /room temperature. What sort of temp drop does it do? Mine doesn't seem great in this regard
I have one of these and I keep finding the "eco" mode on when I turn it off and switch it back on again. It's as if it defaults to eco mode for some reason. I'm wondering if there is a way to take that out of the loop all together since it basically makes the AC useless when it's on.
lovelylady32401 thank you for giving your input, it helps others make informed decisions on whether or not to buy this unit. So far mine is still working well 🤞

temps measured when its 100 degress or more outside would be interesting! if the ambient is 78, then hitting 34 should be a piece of cake.
Can you remove the front panel to clean it?
By any chance does yours spit water from the fan on the outside ? I’m having that problem
2 summers in a row Ive used mine daily, april to november.
my ac isnt working, it will run and turn on but the buttons doesnt work anymore on remote or display

Mine defaults to eco mode as well, I believe this is how the unit is programmed and therefore its not able to be changed. Thank you for watching!
I’ve had mine for about a year, it’s starting to quit working. It will run and cool but the buttons aren’t working anymore.

Yes, It is still functioning as it should…no issues. Thank you for watching!
@@5MinuteFixit Thank you for your reply, I just bought one
What the lowest temperature you can set it to?
I believe it goes down to 60...I don’t have it installed at the moment so maybe someone else will chime in.
I got the 8000btu and it goes down to 61.
