Software was a German electronic duo active between 1984 and 2000, comprising Peter Mergener (born 1951) and Michael Weisser (born 1948). The group released their records under Innovative Communication label, which also released a number of other electronic musicians. From 1990 to 1992 Weisser produced, during a temporary break with Mergener, four albums under the Software name with a different group composition: Fragrance with Klaus Schulze and Georg Stettner (born 1970), and Modesty-Blaze I / II and Cave with Billy Byte (Stephan Töteberg). After the dissolution of Software in 1999, the two musicians went their separate ways: Peter Mergener continues to compose and play electronic music, while Michael Weisser is currently, among other things, active as a media artist.

One of my favorite albums of all time. I just bought a cassette copy of it! It was sealed! I talked the guy down in price cause I said I’m legitimately going to open it as soon as I get it and listen to it. Great album.
I was expecting that TT to sound weak, it actually is very good. I suppose as long as the loud speakers are not turned up, an expensive TT wont make much of a difference. If I played a record with the top off my deck, by the second play the vinyl would not sound as fresh and clean as yours does currently.

I got it copied on MC Casette for over twenty years and did not even know the title, only the name of Composer. But what can you find looking in internet for word "software"?
Finally I bought casette deck, cause my previous was already sold, and used TrackID to search for CD, and this way I finally found this ;-)
Nota bene: this was the only one MC in my library that I did not know the title!

Interesting. You found the right match for cassette record using vinyl record as a comparation using digital technology for digital tracks. Remarkable experience.

Me too. Hired CDs and copied straight to C90 cassette, illegal now, but the CD'S eventually get heat damaged and sound like crap. The sound was perfect when new. Now we dont have to worry about any of that we have this perfect music storage medium of UA-cam.

Peter Mergener is a great musician, but unfortunately he has no connection to this album. It was written by Stephan Töteberg as Billy Byte.
