  • Is pinning required? This is our take and how we pin gas blocks in addition to the barrel dimpling. For a fighting rifle, that will see heavy usage, it is insurance...

These guys are the real deal. Don't have one of your rifles yet, but one of 'em will be accompanying my others very soon.

Why did y'all choose roll pins over taper pins?

@SonsOfLibertyGunWorks: On Your SOLGW’s .750 Diameter v2 Non-Adjustable Gas Block, What is the Exact Set Screw Spacing? I don’t have a Digital Micrometer to Measure Myself & for the life of me cannot seem to find this info/spec listed anywhere online?

Got a short story for you guys. My wife and I each have BCM REECE rifles. My wife’s is basically a safe queen and after a single two day rifle course (Fighting Rifle by TR) it went back in the safe for about 2 years. I pulled it out one day to take it to the range for some fun and her barrel was really wobbly. So I took the hand guard off thinking it was the hand guard that was loose at first. But NO SHIT, was able to turn the barrel nut by hand and pull the entire barrel off. I don’t even own a barrel wrench! Wild I know. I live right near Rainer Arms factory in WA and got them to reinstall correctly. They called BCM and let them know about the issue. Rainer Arms did it at no cost, and even checked my other BCM rifle for free. That was pretty cool of them. However when I asked them to pin and weld the gas blocks and muzzle device (16in barrel) they gave me a ton of shit and even though I was going to pay them the $200 per rifle to do it and it was a service that they supposedly offer. They told me that Rockset and the set screws were more than enough that BCM put on it. IDK man. It was weird to have money in hand and get initially great customer service but then get told no on extra work. Totally weird. Maybe it was just the guy at the counter. Rifles shoot fine and all but given the story, do you think I should get the gas blocks and muzzle devices pinned and welded?

How do you remove the SOLGW gas block from the East India upper? Got the M89 kit and need to put it on. Brand new East India upper.

Why isn't it standard if you make duty rifles

I have a Geissele URG-I clone complete and my mk12 gas block has set screws only.I just purchased a upper receiver from Dsarms with a Fn barrel,Geissele rail and a mk12 gas block. The gas block is screwed and pinned and it's going to keep the URG-I in the safe and out of the rotation.

Is Rocksett not as good as Loctite 271 for gas block set screws?

I wish you didn't do such a good job on blind hole pinning the muzzle break.

Rocksett is good to over 3000 degrees, while Loctite 271 is only good a smidgen above 300 degrees. Why not use Rocksett on the knurled set screws. Loctite could come loose later after sustained fire.

For us home build types… buy a complete barrel with A2 front sight. Remove taper pins confirm proper port size and alignment then cut to fit under free float hand guard…

When are .625 gas blocks going to be available? Point me in the right direction.

i was about to purchase a M4-89 13.7 but found they are not pinned gas blocks. I will not spend that kind of money on a set screwed gas block when several others in that price range pin them. would a set screwed suffice for me. probably but I WANT the security in knowing that that will not be the point of failure in a SHTF situation.

Do you folks ship to Massachusetts? I was getting my barrels from Ballistic advantage. Until they stopped shipping to my commie state

I bought an exo-3 and m4-89 uppers, and the gas block was not pinned or dimpled. The only reason i went with solgw, was because i trustes their word on what they brag about. Quite frankly their uppers with the nitrides barrels arw nothing special and mediocre for their price point. What made the difference was the trust i put into them putting together a rifle and it was damn fail x2!!!! I will never buy from SOLGW again. Im gonna sell their crappy uppers and take a loss, and buy something good. If you want pictures as proof, let me know i will email you all pics so you can see for yourselves!!
