Uncle Bill !!! Thanks Jeff and Cam !!! Another great video. I like this type of video information. Keep it up and best wishes
Great clip! I love these kinds of episodes. I really love your channel. I’m an Ford /Mercury from back in the 80’s. Keep it coming guys!!!
Awesome...just started a new project...1972 Pontiac Grandville. Set for 31 years...new points, fired right up! Good omen.
I deeply appreciate the information you provide.
I had a 65 4 door. loved it - exactly the same color
Super excited to watch the Falcon come to life again.
Love the hole on the car cover and how you used it in the intro
Noticed that too
I had what looked to be same cover on a Turbo Coupe that was in limbo, split down middle and fell off car
Love your shows you guys deserve more subs
I am a huge fan of the "how to get machinery going after it's been sitting", type segments. It's usually the first step needed to get excited about a project. Keep it up guys.
SpookyLuke me too
Just bought a 63 T-bird. Got to flush the tank and replace filters. Thank you!
I just got my 64 falcon futura going on to the brakes now love the videos
Good car content. always learning something new
Glad to see I am not the only one with Cat issues
Currently building a 260.in a 2dr 64 comet.
Finally your working on the Falcon. Iv'e been waiting for years. Hopefully I will be working on my Sprint soon.
Hope you enjoy it!
From the looks of it the car had some love in the past. Not one to leave setting under a pine tree. I hope it will have a happier future.
I drove the car regularly and put a great deal of Love into the engine bay and interior. It will be seeing a great deal of Love in the future.
So great to see you back at the Falcons again!
More to come!
Keep chuggin and pluggin to 100k!
Great to see the Falcon come out of moth-ball. Between Logan's Ranchero and "The Miss's Falcon" I know there's a ton of Great content coming my way! I can't wait to see how the RRS suspension fits up. Keep 'em coming, Great video! Cam, Good to see you back.
Couldn't agree more! But I licked the door handle...so it's mine.
Looking forward to all the future videos with this one and the others. I really want to see that Mach 1 on the road!
Lazurus is getting hood pins soon. Things will start to move on it here in the near.
👍🏿 love this channel
Something I always do on a engine that has been sitting for a while, after you turn it over by hand is crank the engine with the starter a few times before putting the plugs in to build up oil pressure it makes it easier on starter.Good tip on the battery.Cool car .
Great tip!
you guys are a treasure in the classic car DIY scene. Definitely deserve 100k+ subs!
Wow, thanks!
"I didn't even have to push the accelerator," when cranking, "there's something wrong with this car!" 😂 Seems too good, always sparks a bit of fear... Brushing up on getting my CJ7 happier, found your channel, & got a giggle along the way. 😊
Convinced me, just subbed
beautiful futura! the 2 doors did not come to Argentina :(
Checking fluids is very important. Especially brake fluid after sitting for 5 years. I learned that lesson 😬
Great point!
Never seen a 260 before. Read about them but never seen one. Thanks for the video.
There was even a 221. I have never seen one of those. The little 260 motivates this car very well, kinda hard to send it over to the Ranchero. Like Cam said it is the most reliable and repeatable car in our fleet.
Perfect! Have owned a 64 falcon futura for about 6 months and looking forward to some mods. I have a 5speed and a 351... thinking of going to a hydraulic clutch instead of the mustang Steve cable that it’s in now. You guys planning on doing anything like that?
Yep. we'll be doing a Modern Driveline hydraulic.
how about a little oil in the spark plug holes before starting?
Love the Generator
It's just so...big.
@@AutoRestoMod I know proper charging voltage for alternators but at what voltage do you know the generator is working properly? ('62 Falcon Futura)
What’s the plan with the Falcon? Also I’ve bought an Edelbrock AVS2 Carb for my ‘67 Mustang Fastback project. Would be good to see what you guys think of certain products again sometimes - sort of a review episode of sorts? Love what you’re doing either way!
We have big plans that are in the works. For now we know that we are doing RRS suspension (it is already here). A Modern Driveline five-speed is in the works and a 347 Ford small block that is on the engine stand. There are other things, but we have not finalized those.
Autorestomod Manic Mechanic Gasoline Media I’m going to order a T5 kit from Modern Driveline in the next 2 weeks so it would be really good to see your experience with their products too! Stoked to see all the upcoming episodes.
I have a 1986 ford ranger its been sitting for 4years so im changing all the fluids and filters, plugs anything else i should do before starting it ? Also doesnt have a floor lol the new one is sitting in the garage waiting to be put in 😅 and rockers are surprisingly hard to find for it .
Check ur brake lines as well as wheel cylinders , caliper's etc ...from sitting they have a tendency to leak and go bad
Awesome car! Glad to see it getting some love. That motor and trans going in the ranchero?
Yep. And rear axle too.
Wanna sell it?
260 is a great little motor for falcon comets, 258 lbft torque.
It is surprisingly torquey. I will miss the 260, well until I moosh the go button on the 347...
@@AutoRestoMod at age 73, my experience is ford engines always made good torque, makes them very driveable on the street, even back in the 70s when all smogged up...the old adage they sell horsepower but we all drive torque
I’d HIGHLY recommend to discontinue doubting you’ll get to 100K subs. Put your faith in people enjoying your show!
Wow, thank you! And you are right my friend!
10:45 Explain how you can tell there's a misfire? If the card rattles evenly, it's ok, and if the card rattles unevenly, there's a misfire?
Steady fast beat, it is OK. uneven beat could be: a points distributor, fouled plug (ours was a fouled plug), or maybe a sticking valve, though the last is less likely.
How did you dispose of the bad gas?
Our county has fuel/oil disposal locations. We generally take it there.
I'm not sure if you guys realize these getting her started after X amount of years are gold mines. I'm usually been watching them until 5 in the morning
We have a series of them coming.
@@AutoRestoMod Nice watching some now
😊
Can you guys come look at my car it's a 2002 Hyundai elantra gls and it's been sitting in the garage since 2010-2020
We focus on old stuff, but thanks for the vote of confidence
Is that falcon for sale?
Nope. But thanks for asking!
don't abandon the Ranchero!!
We aren't. We'll be putting in a core support and making due with a Mustang battery apron soon.
😍😍
Think it is time to replace that car cover.... It looks like it has found God being so holy... Is that car Wimbledon white or Springtime yellow?
Wimbledon White...and rust...but still mostly Wimbledon White.
Yay 1st
dont cut the car up too much.....kinda keep it somewhat original!.....im more of a sleeper guy
You want to sell it?
As much as I like your music. No.
directors cut.....hit a deer on the way to the house
LOL.We hope not.
why is that car sitting? How sad
water pump leak sidelined it. then time ate my lunch.
Ooohhh....you Southerners are soooo spoiled. Ill have to teach you proper rocking techniques for getting a rear wheel drive car unstuck. First thing you learn up heah in the North East. Snow you know.
Was trying that...and at first it just burned the clutch. I lived in Minneeesota, eh?
@@AutoRestoMod Cant get theyah from heyah
this is the fakest will it start channel on youtube
Uhhhh no. That car honestly sat for over two years. I started the car every couple of months until the battery died about six moths to a year ago; honestly don't remember. You don't believe it, that's on you. AND this isn't a channel devoted to will it start. This is a how to channel. But folks like you don't dig that deep I suppose...
