finally my years of experience in financial offices comes in handy!!! for the staple remover, flip the pages over and pry up the little staple arms first (the remover will not tell you to do this, but if you do then you can remove the staple with minimal damage).
I prefer the claw staple removers. I only ever used the ones from the video when something was stapled with the heavy duty stapler that does like 50+ sheets.
You have to use the staple remover on the other side of the paper you should be pulling up on the side where it has the two ends but love you and your videos!

Those staple removers are a GAME CHANGER for getting staples out of bulletin boards and walls because the staples don’t bend in when you do that. It makes taking things off the walls of my classroom SO MUCH QUICKER. Ive had a Staples brand one for the entire 18 years ive been teaching and it is an essential tool.
Highlighter tape is such an amazing tool for knitting/crocheting! It helps you follow a pattern and take notes temporarily so you can reuse patterns in multiple sizes. I use a brand that comes on a roll like normal tape which makes it a lot easier.
I'm a mom and a teacher. I use or have used many of these items. My daughter, who is in college, told me recently that having her sandwich cut like a heart or butterfly made her feel extra cool and loved at the lunch table. I used large cookie cutters. Cut each ingredient separately for better results. I use the floor desks, my 4th graders love them. I use a version of scratch offs as prizes. The staple remover is especially helpful while changing bulletin boards.
Usually when you make meat and cheese sandwiches with those cutters you cut the meat and cheese separate them the bread and make the sandwiches with the cut pieces.
The stapler remover is amazing for teachers bc we put up bulletin boards and staple things to walls and cork boards and such. So when the staples go into these surfaces, they don’t bend the way staples bend on paper. So using it to remove things from the classroom walls is easy since they come out straight not bent. I wouldn’t really use stapler removers for removing staples on paper. Unless I first use it on the back of the stapler to lift the little metal curved ends and straighten them and then turn it over and remove normally if that makes sense.
I have always found the straight staple remover to be much easier for me! But you are supposed to use it on the back first to open the folded bits. The claw for me just eata the whole dang corner! Haha
As a teacher, that staple remover is AMAZING! It works best for bulletin boards. You don't even have to remove the staple from the staple remover right away. Just keep going and dump them all at once.
I love the highlighter tape, but I feel like it would be so much better if it came in a little applicator like correction tape that you could just glide along the paper and tilt to cut.
Our 11 year old daughter LOVES the joke cards. We also pack them when she’s going to sleep-overs, camps everything. We’ve been using our since last school year.
20:50 I'd love to get an update on those highlighter tape things, to see if they're still easy to pull off after they've been in the book for a couple days/weeks/months.
I used these in grad school 10 years ago. My toddler daughter found them in my books last year and proceeded to peel them all off and stick them to the walls. So I can say that yes they remove and restick basically indefinitely until you get them dirty....I will say the ones I used were like 2 or 3 inches long little flag type highlighter tapes. Much easier to use than a whole roll of tape
I used to use the heart sandwich cutter (similar to the one shown in the video) all the time for my daughter. She hated crust, so it was useful. Some brands have larger pieces of bread which worked better...the smaller bread was a problem. Salami is hard to cut with those cutters, but something like PB&J or Nutella is fine, sometimes turkey or thin ham.
To peel a hard boiled egg - just tap both ends on the counter, one end will crush more than the other. The most important part is breaking the membrane. One you get thru that you can roll the egg between your hands or on the counter and it should be relatively easy to peel without losing parts of the egg. Also, with the egg shapers you should leave them in the fridge over night. I've seen a lot of reviews on these and done my own testing too. Always love your videos. 💜💜💜
For easy peel eggs use your instant pot! The 5-5-5 method works every single time. Also for the sandwich cutters flip it over so the cutter is on the bottom and put the sandwich on top, then use a rolling pin! I’ve found it cuts the easiest and is less stressful for me.
12:14 if you look up what an osthyvel is, that would be a game changer for your bigass block of cheese 😂 it’s a fabulous contraption that slices the cheese. Bet you they’re available at IKEA if you ever go to one haha
That floor seat is kind of EPIC for every floor dweller. I think that's perfect for high schoolers and college students. I WISH I'd had that floor seat in high school. I would have sat on it propped up against the sofa on the floor without having to have a lap desk cutting off circulation or making my lap really hot (the polyester cover plus the polystyrene beads inside gets WARM this time of year). I think this seat & the highlighting tape are the most universally useful finds.
Because a boiled egg comes out of the shell that way because of the membrane inside the shell. When you crack a raw egg, there's no way to not puncture the membrane so the contents aren't contained & are instantly surrounded by air. It'd turn out, at best, like a poached egg.
I think the sandwich cutters would have less waste if you had regular size bread.. your bread is big. Lol. Also I like to cut the bread first then we save the crusts for French toast bites!
Instant pots make GREAT hard-boiled eggs. The shell comes off super easy every time (5 minutes cooking on hi, 5 minutes slow release, then finish quickly, and dump into ice water. Give them a few minutes to cool, then unshell}.
With the staple remover, hold the paper down while pulling out the staple, with your thumb over the staple. Helps with the hole thing. They are also the best at removing price stickers. Especially if you work in retail or around Christmas. Saves your nails!
I dont even have kids and I'm sending most of these to my friends for my nephews lol. Petition for you to read more jokes from the cards for Christopher 😂. (Ps. I was in my kitchen, trying to eat my lunch, in between folding laundry. I was almost creeped out at the accuracy of your questions at the start of the video lol) ❤
Kindergartners love those chair things. Obviously not for a replacement for a desk, but when they are doing independent reading or another short activity. They always fight over who gets to use one.
We put hard-boiled eggs a jar with a little water (½ in or so), put the lid on, and shake it. The shell comes off quite easily. It's a job my kids usually do for me. 😊
I feel like a traditional lap desk gives the same flexibility in seating but you could also be in a bean bag chair or on the couch or something like that. Neat idea though
OKAY OKAY! tip, use a small reaspoon crack around egg horizontally. Use spoon to go under shell and turn around egg! Boom best peeling hack! Make sure it's not a super thick metal spoon!
That's a good one. I also tap the top and bottom then roll it under your hand on the counter with light pressure. It will crack into many cracks and peel right off.
Everything else that's good about it, I'm so glad school lunches are free here so we didn't have to think about preparing it. I can't even decide what to eat nowadays, I can't imagine if I had to do that when I was in school because both me and my mom suck at that 😭 kudos to all of you who do that on a daily basis
Also - the staple remover thingy? You can unbend the prongs of the staple with that same edge and then pull the staple out with less paper tearing. Used that kind at work for years.
For easy egg peeling just use a teaspoon. I crack the bottom where the air pocket is, slide the spoon in and slide it around the egg. It's quick and easy.
Your bread is more rectangle-ish, if you had the more square-ish kind, the sandwich cutters would have worked better. Jennifer over at the Family Fudge makes adorable lunches, and she does sandwich cutouts all the time.
You could probably use the detailed sandwich cutters (like the elephant one) for other flat foods! Like cheese slices (not sure what you'd use elephant-shaped cheese for, but that's the first thing I thought of lol), crepes, pancakes, etc.
Hi, Rachel! About kuting sandwiches. I don't know if you have different colours of bread in Australia but if you take two slices of different colours of bread and cut out with the help of cookie cutters some shapes in them, then you can put the cut out form in a piece of bread of a different color and you will get a picture. And there is no waste.
If you roll your boiled eggs after slightly cooling them, while applying gentle pressure, it should make it easier to peel. If you're not worried about the shapes, dunk them in ice cold water immediately, roll them on the counter with pressure so they crackle then put them back in the water, the water will get into the cracks and help the shell come off more easily.
To retrieve the egg shell, I cracked the boiled egg in a bowl of water. Some of the water will go under the shell, and the peeling will be easier (even done it with one hand only once)! For the outside of the sandwich, croutons or bread pudding are nice :)
Apparently if you tap the egg with a spoon before you cook it until you hear a soft pop, the shell comes off easier? Never tried but another tik tok hack for ya! Could help peel the egg while still warm!
To keep the cutter clean for different kinds of sandwiches, you can put parchment paper over the sandwich, or put it into the sandwich bag first before using the cutter. At least the ones I've used aren't sharp so they don't cut the paper/bag.
With the bread molds....we used to press into the bread (not all the way through) and then toast it....then you have the design in a lighter colour, and no waste of bread!
Rachel: What are you doing right now? Me: *folding laundry* Rachel: Folding laundry? Because that’s what I do when watching UA-cam videos. Me: *flabbergasted* she knows me so well
Hard boiled Eggs, before you cook them, tap around the shell lightly with the back of a spoon. You will hear a slight noise when you have successfully separated the embryo from the shell. Boil as normal. They peel beautifully. I wish that I knew this hack when my kids were growing up.
Here’s a hack for egg shells. Get a bowl with a lid add a bit of water and shake. You can also use the pot so you don’t have to dirty a bowl. It saves so much time
Amazing "hack" I learned recently for peeling hardboiled eggs and use every time: fill a glass/cup 1/3-1/2 of the way with water, put the egg in there, put your hand over the top and shake it hard several times (do it over a sink because water will splash out). The shell comes off so fast and clean. I think the impact against the cup/glass cracks the shell, and the movement of the water gets under the membrane to help the whole thing just slip off. And I do also think using the instant pot to cook them makes it easier to peel!
Instant pot makes the most easily peelable eggs. It also helps if they’re not just bought. Fresher eggs are harder to peel. I think the cutters are for smaller sandwich bread lol
I literally just perfectly peeled 3 eggs. Make a small hole on the top and the bottom, and then blow through one side of the egg. It sends aid around the whole egg and then you can take the peel of perfectly ♥️♥️♥️
Also, I used to get highlighter tape in the same dispensers as the white out. Looks like a paisley shape. Not sure if they are as easily removable tho.
Tap a metal spoon to the larger end of the egg until you hear the little ✨ pop ✨ then boil 😊 Separates the membranes from the outer shell and makes it easier to peel after you boil it!
YES! Usually fresh eggs are more difficult to peel, but we have our own chickens and I’ve used the instant pot to hard boil eggs laid the same day and they peel in like 2 whole pieces lol. Such a game changer
That the symbol on the name tags is always the same can be an advantage. Very small children can't read but they can recognize a symbol. My kindergarden had specific symbols for all of us so we would know what is ours.
We use the staple removers at work. I have hand dexterity issues and this staple remover is SO much easier to use than the traditional that you have to pinch together. And I love the magnet in the bottom for easy clean up.
I got so excited when I saw the sandwich cutters cause in the picture you have a Dino one! I was super sad when I realized you didn’t have the Dino one 😭 that would have been so cute! I almost wanna buy that one for my daycare! Would be great with grilled cheese sandwiches! Yummy and adorable 🥰
When you rinse your eggs under cold water leave that cold water in the pan and peal the eggs underwater. You will be amazed on how easy the peal that way
You should try the little contraption that makes the eggs into cubes. It would still be enjoyable to kids bc it looks so strange but it doesn't count on the indentions into the white like this one. I think if these turned out perfectly, they still wouldn't look as cool as the cubes!
You should always use a staple remover on the back of the page/staple to spread the legs of the staple first, then flip to remove from the front. There's minimal damage that way - only the little holes from the staple themselves remain.
Maybe try tapping on the bottom of the egg to pop the membrane inside ( not hard enough to crack) before boiling. I heard it helps with the pealing process.
If you need to peel boiled eggs, plunge them into cold water immediately after boiling. It causes the inside membrane to pull away from the shell, and they should still stay relatively warm.
Eggs done in the Instant Pot have ALWAYS peeled beautifully…no grey/green ring around the yolks. 2min HP (high pressure), 12min NR (natural release), 5min ice bath. It doesn’t matter how many eggs you put in. New eggs, older eggs, farm fresh eggs, eggland’s best, etc. I’ve tried baking soda, vinegar, peeling contraptions…nothing worked consistently. Also, I used the same molds for years and never had to put them in hot. As long as the eggs were cool enough to handle, they always worked. I hope you try again with bigger, nicely peeled eggs. They end up so cute. It was the only way my kids ate eggs all through their elementary school years. I’ve put many a mom onto these molds! Good luck! PS-my daughter and I are ADDICTED to your videos! You’ve probably saved us from purchasing a lot of junk.
You can let them cool a bit. It's also much easier to peel under running water; doesn't need to be full blast. Use the water to get between the membrane and the egg. It will separate much easier. They will take the shape if left overnight in the mold in the fridge.
The staple removers are fantastic for bulletin boards. I bought a different yet similar kind (no magnet) for my classroom and it has been a life saver. I don't rip backgrounds as much with it.
The floor desks you could use sitting in a chair too. It might be more comfortable then sitting on the floor for us adults. I had one, but no longer use it because it wouldn’t work with my seat cushion in my wheelchair.
The stickers I have found really good for young kids when they can’t read properly yet and the same picture with their name helped them recognise their belongings!
19:15 Check out the Pilot Frixion highlighters! Grab some, grab a scrap piece of paper, mark it up then use a hair dryer aimed at the marks. The Frixion ink vanishes with heat! (found this out the hard way when several pages of notes ended up being heated up from a plate of food...It was the ink pen but they work the same)
Hard boiled egg peeling trick... tap the wide end of the egg on the counter and roll it around. It is where the air pocket is and it peels like a dream when you Crack it there (wide end, not the pointy end)
finally my years of experience in financial offices comes in handy!!! for the staple remover, flip the pages over and pry up the little staple arms first (the remover will not tell you to do this, but if you do then you can remove the staple with minimal damage).

With eggs, I hit the top and bottom then roll it. Once the shell is nicely broken up it should come right off =)

When you rinse your eggs under cold water leave that cold water in the pan and peal the eggs underwater. You will be amazed on how easy the peal that way
Angler gosh are my favorite fish. They’re so freaking cool and beautiful.
Currently in the kitchen preparing dinner! UA-cam is a must for dinner prep ☺️
Hard boiled eggs peeling tip: use a spoon to get between the shell and the egg, it’ll work perfectly to peel the egg for you!
You should try the little contraption that makes the eggs into cubes. It would still be enjoyable to kids bc it looks so strange but it doesn't count on the indentions into the white like this one. I think if these turned out perfectly, they still wouldn't look as cool as the cubes!
Hardboiled eggs in an instant pot. Game. Changer.
8:09 my kids loved these, we used them for lunches ALL THE TIME! Lol
Try a wiggle at the end to get the best cut
You should always use a staple remover on the back of the page/staple to spread the legs of the staple first, then flip to remove from the front. There's minimal damage that way - only the little holes from the staple themselves remain.
Rachel: what are you doing right now?
Me: eating lunch at work. 😊 watching you make school lunches
clear post-its on pages then you can write notes and highlight and then remove it.
Jam looks great yum. I know my hubby has a way to make egg peeling foolproof but I can’t think of it at the moment
The snack that loves me back that was cute 😊
That desk thing would be great to use on the couch when using a labtop, rather than the cushion setup i use now lol.
I am absolutely folding laundry. Watching something while i do this is how I get through it 😂
The floor desks you could use sitting in a chair too. It might be more comfortable then sitting on the floor for us adults. I had one, but no longer use it because it wouldn’t work with my seat cushion in my wheelchair.
The staple removers are the best for bulletin boards. Speaking from experience.
The sandwich designs work for white bread because it’s so squishy
The stickers I have found really good for young kids when they can’t read properly yet and the same picture with their name helped them recognise their belongings!
19:15 Check out the Pilot Frixion highlighters! Grab some, grab a scrap piece of paper, mark it up then use a hair dryer aimed at the marks. The Frixion ink vanishes with heat! (found this out the hard way when several pages of notes ended up being heated up from a plate of food...It was the ink pen but they work the same)
Put it in the freezer for around an hour it will reverse it. I have done this to do a science experiment
Hard boiled egg peeling trick... tap the wide end of the egg on the counter and roll it around. It is where the air pocket is and it peels like a dream when you Crack it there (wide end, not the pointy end)
Knitters use the highlighted tape for following lace and cable charts (graph) line by line.
Rachel you hair looks so good here! I’m loving the colour 💕
The staple removers work a lot better if you flip over the paper and use them to open the staple from underneath where the pins bend
Love those cards! I always stick a post it note in my sons packed lunch deffo gonna buy those for a change x
