New here?
HI & WELCOME!!! I'm Rachel and I like testing things... whether it's viral recipes, Tiktok hacks or Amazon kitchen gadgets ... they get me every time. My husband, sister & sisters in law often makes appearances to share their thoughts and taste test and yes they basically all live here lol. I have 3 kiddos, a big extended family and an obsession with chocolate chip cookies - come hang out with us every Saturday: / rachhloveslife

Looks like you were only supposed to put a few toys in the claw machine so they didn't spill out and there was room for the claw to work.
Yeah or some smalller candies likes tootsie rolls or jolly ranchers maybe it would work with?
Yep... Common sense goes a long way... 😂
I feel like you were only supposed to use one pack of the toys at a time.
I've seen this in other videos. It works great when you put in the recommended amount of toys in it.
Reading the instructions is for the weak lol 😂
Luke's artwork is exceptional for a 7 year old. Keep encouraging him! 🎨🖌️
SECONDED
Julia & Luke are both incredibly talented artists and love to draw almost every day 💗
Since this close to the top, I’ve heard you can use hairspray as a cheap fixative.
Yes, I've used it for oil pastels and found it adequate
I'm pretty sure they draw a lot. She shows their artwork regularly and they are always VERY GOOD.
Can vouch for the elephant spout 100%!!! Saw it here, bought it, and gave it to a friend last year who was expecting. She loved how gentle it was when she was bathing her daughter as an infant and made for a more familar experience when baths transitioned to the tub this year. And the baby is now starting to use it (read "play with it" 😄) in the tub! Brilliant suggestion, Rach! Thank you so much!! 💖
Gotta love multifunctional products that are practical and fun 👏 My favorite part is how kids learn independence and have such a good time doing it! That is also SO cute that your friend’s daughter was not as nervous about switching to the tub because she had her elephant 😊
Last fall our God daughter got the flying orb ball for her birthday. Hers immediately flew off into the sky, over the house and was gone forever. My husband LOVED IT though and he requested it for a Christmas present for himself. I bought it for him and on his second use of it, it flew under the furniture and into a big dust bunny (don't judge me) and got hair wound around it and it has never flown the same. Obviously our family is not meant for that toy. 😂
They're this year's skydancers 😂 mine went over the fence into my creepy af neighbours jungle of a yard never to be seen again 😭 RIP lil beech
That's why it clearly says in the directions not to play with it outside
You can froth hot chocolate in your blendtec blender they shared a recipe for it years ago it was delicious and the leftover turned into a mousse texture in the fridge lol
I took an internship at an elder home and I used that same projector for sensory stimulation, and in a pitch black room, it works great.
Yeah, my son has had similar ones ever since he was born. And we've always used the lid over the designs, since I assumed it was so you can still have the light designs, but just on the lid.
So I definitely recommend them too. They normally only last a year or 2, but they're cheap enough, and my son loves picking out a new one.
I think for the ice thingy to work better, the ice cubes need to be smoother and clearer to begin with. With the ice cubes being uneven the design doesn't really show up properly.
And maybe heat it a bit? Is the design on the board metal?
And just by the way, those are the biggest I’ve cubes I’ve ever seen!!!
Everytime Christopher tests something out it's bound to be tested to the limits 😂😂😂😂
The basket thingy is used as a steamer 😊
Thank you , I just commented the same thing
And the steamer basket handles might be cooler if left up while cooking
Her talking about a little kid potentially trying to stick their fingers into the hover orb made me realize as a 26 year old who occasionally has the thought to stick a finger in my plastic fan probably shouldn't own that, that realization was greatly increased when Chris mentioned it wouldn't take off a finger because that's exactly what I'd tell myself before finding a way to stick my finger into it.
I'm going to stick with my Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser for my hot chocolate. There is nothing better. So perfect!
LOVE Chris's "they'll only do it once" such a Canadian parent from the 80's comment
I just bought a 2 pack of those flying orbs at Costco yesterday for 19.99. They were 6 yrs+ glad your kids liked it. 😊
My kids have those flying things and I believe they’re close in age to yours. I had my oldest in 2011 and my youngest is 3yrs older than your youngest, but they’ve gone through a couple different ones over the years and they did fine. We did lose one somewhere outside, possibly in the neighbors tree 🤣
I was hoping you were going to link the actual functioning star projector that you liked so much as well!
Yeah I was looking for this too
I was looking for it too.
Also looking for that
Same! That’s what I was looking for..lol
Same!
I have to pick a gift in the $20 range for work dirty Santa (or white elephant, I’ve heard it called different things) and I immediately added the LED cups to it, I think it would be an awesome gift for it! Simple yet so fun!
Drone Balls are great even for 3-5 yo set. Better is the "Force 1 Scoot Duo" saucers. You get 2 in a pack, it auto-levels and is more stable than the drone ball. You 'gesture' near it to move it rather than grab it. Much safer for little fingers because you don't grab it.
The 3 boys I nanny have the flying orbs and love them. They got them when they were ages 4, 6, and 8. They work great in an open concept layout home.
My 4 yr old loves the flying ball too!!! Great gift and so much fun! Just be careful what space you use inside!
That ball is so cool 😎 looks like so much fun!!
I didn't know what to buy for my brother (45yo) .. and you gave me the best idea ever with the flying orb!
ALL of your videos are like gift guides for me as I just look for Chris's T-shirts and more often than not, my kid would love them. 😂
so excited for all these new cool gifts!!!! So excited!!!!!!!
I had a candy claw machine one time for Christmas! It was so fun! But I also remember it was loud, mine had a lil guard around the hole though so things didn't just fall in like yours, I love the plushy alternative though!
I have the breville frother and it has a convenient hole in the lid where you can remove a small piece and pour in hot chocolate while milk froths. It can make a decent amount of frothy hot chocolate (2-3 coffee cups, depending on size)
Give batteries lmao!!! One year I packed batteries in a gift box for my ex husband. In with the batteries was a note:
Some are red, Some are blue
Some are old, Some are new and then some not so nice rhyming. He hated it but everyone I told this too loves it. I’d do it again but can’t do it to him again. lol 😂
Lmao😂
I would LITERALLY wear those heart sunglasses everywhere! They are so cute!!
Yay! Finally! I've been binge watching all your old christmas videos, wondering when you will upload this year's ones...... Happy dance!💃💃
yay!! So many to come - get ready! I think this may be my best year yet for cool finds on both channels
@@RachhLovesLife i cant wait!!
Omg I was on the floor with that flying orb Rachel 😂😂😂🇨🇦
I got those orbs for all my nieces and nephews last xmas. Fun Aunt for the win!!! There are also similar UFO-shaped ones.
My daughter got the elephant water shower for her baby, now he's 3 and he loves doing it himself❤
Rach!! I need to know what eyeshadow you’re wearing in this!!!
With the flying ball toy, girls or anybody with long hair should tie it up. My youngest has gotten her hair caught in something like those.
Yay! I was waiting for your video. Can't wait to watch it! ❤
Exactly, invest in a bigger milk frother, they make perfect hot chocolate. ❤
I’m surprised you haven’t reviewed the hot chocolate machine that I keep seeing advertised, it’s called hotel chocolate, they’re really selling you on the machine and the different chocolates to buy. Expensive too
I would suggest to poor some hot water on the ice-shaper. Aluminium does easily conduct heat which is why it would heat up fast under warm water and THEN put ice on it for a few seconds
I have the star projector. I had two, but one crapped out and my 3 yr old loves to smush the screen cover with the stars so it's all beat up. Lights up the room decently. Also have the elephant sprayer, I liked the spray part but I wish it had a suction cup on the bottom Because for me it just kept falling over.
Things like the light up flyer put higher ages so that if it breaks they can say oh well it’s not supposed to be for that age…. Keep that in mind. The blades aren’t exactly sharp. We’ve had many different styles of them over the years. They do break easily. I bought 2/$30 at a toy kiosk once.
I was trying to find the star projector recommended, I’d love to get one for my kiddos!

My in-laws have one of those shifting puzzle things, and I play with it like every time we’re at their house. 😂
We have a similar projector like the one you have in this video and it actually works really well my son loves it
12:26 the quick demise of the claw machine was so sad 😢 lol
Running to get the orb for my son and my daughter’s boyfriend - both over 20 years old. Great stocking stuffer for them. Now let’s find something for the girls.
That "Well you know you do that once and you never do it again" is the most dad thing ever 😂
OMGosh...i need a link to that glass mug/glass you used with the hot chocolate!!!
My kids & brother received the flying orb last year as a gift. They played with it briefly.
I have a hotel chocolat velvetiser and I love it I use it all year round
could you test stamped cookie recipes for all of the fun Christmas character cookie cutters?
we have survived many years with plastic love my Tupperware would be nice to see you try brands of jeans i’m having trouble finding some as sweats look frumpy on me another fun video
You being weirded out by heating up the plastic hot chocolate maker was strange to me as someone from the UK as the vast majority of our kettles for boiling water are plastic. I know some plastics arent great (im looking at you microwaveable meal pots!) But some are totally fine to be heated repeatedly
Why don't you guys have Pyrex?
@@marciwhitman3513we do have Pyrex but LittleDergon is referring to an electric kettle for boiling water. Do they have Pyrex kettles?
My Krupps electric kettle has plastic windows running down both sides. I’ve had it for about 5 years now and I use it daily.
@@roselmcposelMine is Pyrex- got it last Christmas, but it has a plastic handle and removable fill spot top ...and cool blue ring lights in the bottom😊
I love it
@@roselmcposelI'm not in the UK though, but hubby says he got it from Amazon
Honestly I prefer plain ice without people handling it too much prior to serving it so the ice design is a no for me.
We just got the exact same projection lamp and ours worked great. The motion setting worked too well, made me nauseous though😂
"I have small ice cubes".....proceeds to take out the biggest ice cubes I've ever seen lol
I'm actually almost ready for Xmas early for the first time ever 😂
My parents have had a hot chocolate maker for YEARS!! They also get cappuccino mix!!
You could do home made chips in the fake always pan, the strainer would be perfect for that, I'm british so chips=fries xx😂❤
Yay a great morning indeed
Nothing froths Rachel's hot chocolate more than extremely loud frothers that are louder than the bulldozer that sometimes travels through her kitchen.
IT SHOULD HE ILLEGAL BEING THIS EARLYYYY!!!!!!
I have been using my Nespresso frother for hot chocolate for years lol
Woah. I'm always early to everything. But I have never been this early. 😮
omg the most important question! where did u get your gold hoop earrings?? they're stunning!! ah
They’re a dollar us 😂😂 you’re not wrong Christopher
Where are you getting those square ice (literal) cubes?!
I bought a 6-cube silicone mold to make them on Amazon a few years ago. They come out about 1.5”. They’re nice my big 30oz stainless steel cup because two them keep a drink cold without diluting really fast.
I can't believe I got here this early!! 😊yay!!
We used gloves for our kids to safely use the flying ball! (Still with supervision)
There are heat-safe plastics tho,, like all of the tupperware microwave line,, but that machine doesnt look heat safe plastic
What's the link for the chocolate milk frother you already had? The black sleek one?
It’s a Nespresso milk frother.
Aeroccino
I just wish you could add the prices.
I need to find your star light! Lol i think you only linked the one in the video
I was looking for it too..
Link in a reply further above
The words you’re looking for “steamer basket”
Except I don't think it was a steamer basket as it didn't sit above the water, it didn't look like it had feet so it's meant to sit in the water
There is heat prove plastic, but yes still a glass is always better.
I am not sure who wants decoration on their ice? Is it visible in a drink? Seems like it would immediately melt off the picture since it’s not carved deep? The second you pour anything on it it’s gone?
0:10 before you said this I was about to say: now my favourite time of year starts. I absolutely love all the Christmas content 🥰
Where are your coffee mugs from?
DA CLAAAAAAAAAW 👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽
Wait ? Chris said the handle doesn’t come off like the Always pan ??? I have 2 and they dont come off .
Yay
Omg, In my country hot chocolate is something completely different - she is thick and you could drink it but since it’s soo thick we usually scoop it with a spoon. This is so disappointing, it’s like nesquik.
CVS has a candy claw machine in their gift section snd i want to get it for my husband so bad but im scared itll be as bad as the one you had.
Niece got her hair caught in the flying thing. 4 year old killed his on first outing
I'm here to say the always pan , if I'm going to spend that much money on anything ! And it's that pretty , it better stay that pretty FOREVER! With little effort. No way would I pay that much money for a pan to have to scrub the black off from it constantly, non stick Better mean non stick Cause I have NEVER ! Found a Non stick pan yet that was. After the first use .
OMG same! I am so annoyed by 'non-stick' pans that everything seems to stick to. We did get some Blue Diamond pans that are quite good, but you can only use certain utensils on them, can not stack them as they scratch so easily!
Yeah I think a milk frother machine makes more sense
I bought my daughter that flying orb toy last year. However it quit flying 2 days after Christmas
Anyone else immediately pause the video and go buy the Orb? Just me? 😂
"Jai Alai" hahahahaha
You need to try the selena gomez cooking line
Purified water makes clear ice
I paused the video to order the light-up glasses. Not sure if I'll be able to give them as a gift , may be a self-gift.
Anyone find the star projector she liked? All I see is the one she tested today.
Link in a reply further up
I love that Chris got a new Christmas present early😊
What’s the name of your frothed?
Nespresso aeroccino
Claw machine sucks each of my kids have had one of them they break and stuck and the chains mess up and the stuff doesn’t fit through on several items not worth it then the kids get super upset
Does anyone know what the name of light projector was? The good one she bought for her kids? Im looking for one for my autistic kiddo but am scared to pull the trigger on it. I bought her the one she shows in this video last year and shes right, its crap.
She's put the link in a reply to somebody's comment up higher in case you didn't see 😊
@@strawberrysoymilkshake I didn't. Thank you!
Plzzz tell me your eye shadow 😻
Can I ask why your milk comes in a bag? That's very cool. Definitely take up less room in the fridge . We don't have milk in a bag where I live
It’s a Canadian thing, mostly eastern Canada I think, who really knows why.
Yes. Canadian thing. Started way back in the late 70’s I think. It was considered much safer than using recycled gallon jugs
You can buy milk in a bag in the US - in Wisconsin at gas stations called Kwik Trip (at least they did back in the day, not sure if they still do actually…) 😊
I just checked for a video a few minutes ago 😅
so early!!!
I’m a lil confused as to why the milk was in a plastic bag…. I’m an Australian, I’ve never seen anything like that..
