I grew up using the wood version of a Panga. We called them Skip Jacks. Later years I discovered the Panga. Best damn boat design ever!! I have taken on serious storms and here I is. LOVE THOSE BOATS!! They plane and run beautiful! Its also takes less HP to run them boats. They are just an awesome design. Had a 70 HP it would scare ya . I went back to 25 HP. This was on an 18-footer wood.
Damn sweet build, one of the best pangas I’ve seen. Does it still give good fuel economy after all the additional weight? Or do you feel like it defeats the purpose of a panga?
I was careful to minimize any weight possible when adding to it, I switched to lithium batteries and with the loss of weight repitched to a 22p. 4200 rpm 25 mph 6.9 mph, I say I've kept the economy
have a 25 lowside and you are absolutely right about weight... of which, you are loaded up. Do you, but id personally lose the hardtop and go to canvas and lose the third screen. Two is plenty. Then again you are saving weight with the 140. I run a yamaha 150 sho. Theres quite a few places to save weight. Lithium batteries perhaps
The hard top is made out of the green board, the same thing they use for windmill blades, the whole top is less than 7 lbs, and because it's rigid it needs less aluminum than a soft top. Kinda a wash on weight, and it will last 10x longer. I've moved to lithium tm and house batteries, I think it's spot on for weight now. Next mod will be a different live scope mount...
It's great in Texas, I can run shallower than most bay boats and up to 100 miles offshore. Yes on rough days a catamaran would be more comfortable, and a flats boat can run shallower. But nothing else will do both as well.
@@rusty_adv i'm like you… I run two bilge pumps, and I only go out on small lakes and rivers lol. If I was going 50 miles offshore I would definitely have 3. Dirt cheap and when you need one because you got swamped or blew a fitting there's no disadvantage in having 3 churning away
Including trailer and electronics, ready to fish, 42k. Unfortunately the cost of everything has gone up, if I did another one, I would expect around 50-55k. At least operating costs are so low.
Don't think because it's narrow it's very tippy. The flat bottom towards the stern slows the rocking like a fan going up and down . I'm 260 pounds and stand on the side of the boat in a choppy inlet and it hardly tips . Going thru inlets off Long Island I steer this boat thru the inlet with boat wakes coming every which way on a crowded weekend and my 25 Panga steers straight thru the choppy waves and is very stable. 25 Foot Eduardono Corvina Panga Boats are highly refined compared to Immensa Pangas.
You started with a simple and efficient low stress low maintenance perfectly performing panga And spent every dollar possible to create a heavy out of balance fuel hog of a typical American center console that your gonna spend more time maintaining all the systems in than Actuslly using.
A is pronounced AW as in AWFUL in Spanish. Complete shocker I know. It's weird how you can get the second A correct though.... I like your PAWNGAW though. Clean build.
Yes, you are correct, I apologize for my ignorance. I have been corrected and I practice saying it correctly. Hopefully I can do an update video, I have a dive video I need to finish editing and get out. Thanks for your support.
I have a flat bottom skiff too. I'd never take it offshore with our short wave interval., every boat has something it's better at, the skiff is in the flats and rivers. The panga just does everything ok, and efficiently. Speaking of efficiency, check out the video on the Garvey, it gets over 10 mpg...
@@rusty_adv please excuse my idiotic correction. Its your boat, this is the USA, and you should darn well call your boat whatever you like. I am the one who is sorry. Tight lines
Please feel free to watch my other videos, this is about the boat and equipment that I have and my experience with it. All other videos are about the trips. Thanks for watching.
Very nice explanation of your boat setup. One of the better concerning the panga.
Well you covered all bases for sure. That’s very impressive. I’ve got a 22’6” I’m restoring. Thanks for the tips.
Good information, Nice boat, good Job.

Talk about a loaded panga. Love the setup.
Very good. A well done project, and much info with other applications. Thanks and take care.
Too good dude! Awesome setup.
Nice job on the video sweet boat!
Super clean setup!!
Thanks!
really appreciate your video. thanks for sharing all the information.
amazing setup!
Thanks!
Sweet boat

i've seen pangas go to bahamas. sure it depends on weather window. but it shows they are pretty versatile boats when used correctly.
It's on my too do list, for sure
Any boat can go to the Bahamas it's hardly a feat to so.
Well they also cross the southern hemisphere fully loaded lmao they have a better track record then any boat your thinking of.
Nice boat. Love it.
I like the way you put all the stuff,l also got a 25 ft

That is an awesome boat!
that's a nice boat!😎👍
Hey I'm looking to get into the panga life same idea fresh water and salt. What was the price of the hull with a flat deck?
Check with Rod at bayou to blue water in San Leon, price has changed since I did mine 😕
Thanks i emailed him it was 12k for the hull🥲
@@2aamerica329 that's not as bad as I thought, it was about 10 when I got mine and I beat all the price hikes
Nice, by the way how wide is your walking deck? Tnx
It's about 5' average, the sides have a lot of curve
is your Panga self bailing with scuppers ?????
No, I built a tray in the floor with a pump, self bailing would have been nice but comes at a cost of weight and stability.
Ok where to I buy a hull and trailer
Rod, at bayou to blue water is the guy, can get you exactly what you need
Very impressive.

Well How much at the start ….and how much did you put into it LOL A lot I know Give us some numbers about the beginning pricing plz
Prices have gone up, like everything else, I got the hull and composite board for under 10k, about 14k for the outboard and jack plate
Im like you but 3 bilge pumps? Is that really necessary or is that just you?. Reason asking is I want to build my own boat too...
No, but I believe 1 is none and 2 is 1 offshore. 1 pump Is for the deck, the other 2 are for the bilge running on separate batteries.

@rusty_adv that's a fact!
What’s the furthest you’ve gone offshore?
Not opposed to 100 miles, 50 ish is the most I've done on this one. It's currently the limit of my towing insurance.
Very narrow. Like a cigar.
Also, what’s your LOA?
25'. I've gone 50 miles out and then back all on a single 20 gallon tank
Whats your rough total investment currently ?
Including trailer and electronics, ready to fish, 42k. Unfortunately the cost of everything has gone up, if I did another one, I would expect around 50-55k. At least operating costs are so low.
They are so narrow, i get its fuel economy but i like the wider beam
It's definitely a trade off, if I wasn't in a panga I'd go catamaran.

Pronounced “ponga”. 👍
You're not wrong, sorry, I've just heard it pronounced wrong for too long.
