As well as miscellaneous crap like looting, murder, ect. Katrina was bad, but other areas have gotten hit with worse hurricanes. The government and all other factors worked against the people of New Orleans.

There is a Army base in its path in Leesville, LA, Fort Polk. Housing on base is not the best, especially if they still have the mobile home parks on base. This is really bad on so many levels.

Storm surge predicted to reach 30 miles inland. Lake Charles to be exact. There are small communities in-between Holly Beach and Lake Charles that will be greatly affected. So sad.
