    I left around 3pm today from lake Charles I’m still on the road and heading to Alabama where it’s safer only 3 more hours to go!! Stay safe ya’ll

    Hammer time. get as far away from the coast as you can. Cat 4's or 5's are nothing like their weaker cousins. There is a cost for living near the gulf coast.

    You know there is a wall of water coming in when it's turning the bottom of the ocean like that already. I've been through 6 hurricanes and they never get easier.

    On a far away island in the S. Pacific there is a guy who is stranded, all alone, a castaway. But Laura will wash one of those Holly Beach Pot-O-Gold portalets far out into the ocean, where in a few years time, with the help of ocean currents and winds, it will wash up on that faraway S. Pacific island. Because you never know what the tide is gonna bring in.

    I remember after Rita, Holly Beach was gone! Hate to imagine it again. My mother in law lives in Sulphur, she evacuated yesterday. This is gonna be a by gaaa

      @@perkhere2252 1800 people died because of poor and old levees, terrible response and delayed aid (by the local and federal government,) and people's insistence on staying in areas as low as -20 feet under sea level. As well as miscellaneous crap like looting, murder, ect. Katrina was bad, but other areas have gotten hit with worse hurricanes. The government and all other factors worked against the people of New Orleans.

    I heard it will be a Cat 5 when it comes on shore. Devastation,. we need to have places to collect food and supplies for the people and their pets of this war torn area. There is a Army base in its path in Leesville, LA, Fort Polk. Housing on base is not the best, especially if they still have the mobile home parks on base. This is really bad on so many levels.

    Im amazed that thier is some houses standing 24 hours later ..they may be in bad shape ..but if the wind wasnt so strong only campers would of been wrecked i understand some people dont have ways to move them but why not try to get some of them out of there..there is more stuff in the ocean and swamps that will have to be removed now..all that water staying there...that place is gonna stink over the next few days...im headed down in a few days to help with cleanup...as i work for a company out of Alabama that specializes in storm damage clean up...prayers for everyone that lost material items ..

    Be safe storm chaser, you might want to get out of there, or find a three story parking garage for your car. Its cool to watch, but I’d rather you stsy safe/than report.

    This look like it's gonna land in the middle of nowhere. No major city or towns. That could be dangerous for storm chasers because they would be literally the only thing standing with hurricane Charley like winds.

      Um, over a couple million people live in the area it’s hitting. It will cause extreme damage. Likely 40-60B in damage when unjust for Inflation and population growth. That puts in the top 5 for costliest US hurricanes.

      @@PremierCCGuyMMXVI I can see that with the flooding but I'm talking about the direct eye landfall. The cone is over an area called Constance beach. Which is right next to a bayou. There will be other damage but direct eye contact over a major populated area like Andrew is nil.

      Storm surge predicted to reach 30 miles inland. Lake Charles to be exact. There are small communities in-between Holly Beach and Lake Charles that will be greatly affected. So sad.
