I have watched your channel for quite some time but rarely comment. I appreciate all you share, including your grocery hauls and cooking videos. I especially enjoyed this video about your low income journey. You gave some wonderful suggestions on saving money. God bless you! ~Sherry♥
I’m so glad you shared your wealth of information. So many smart tips. My daughter just found out today that her company shut their doors and she is out of a job. She lives well below her means also so she will be okay until she finds another job. Thanks for being so open and honest. You and Glenn and wonderful people! ❤
We raised 4 children on one good, but not spectacular income. You learn to be resourceful to say the least! These days the kids are grown ( one young adult is still home) we live on SS, Own our home and vehicles, have have no large outstanding debts. We eat very well, and basically want very little considering our modest income. It's all in priorities, how we learn to juggle , and finding ways to cut corners. You're doing great with what you and Glen have~ low income be dawned, those of us who have struggled and survived to lead content and secure lives are experts in our fields! :)
Being a disabled senior living on low income below poverty line. I can relate to all that you have shared. Thank You so much for telling your story and for being Humble & Grateful. I'm glad your videos popped up a few weeks ago on my you tube. I enjoy watching. Bless you and Glen and of course the fur babies. I myself have 15 cats and 3 dogs. Most were abandon that I took in. I hate to see anything left on the streets . I'm a sucker I guess. LOL
Great explanation of your situation. You and Glen find joy in daily life and that shows! Money does not buy that. My best to you and the fur babies. 🙏🏻💜
You shouldn't have to explain yourself. We all have our own experiences. Let those that haven't understood yet pave their own road. You are doing what you can for you and yours in love. Continue to be of good courage ❤
Beautiful video today, Corinna. Your vulnerability is commendable and inspirational. Many of us are in the same boat but we all do what we have to and that's what is important. Excellent advice to have a hobby to cope with depression or becoming depressed. You truly do live a simple life with joy and grace. Many blessings always. 🙏
I loved hearing your story. It sounds a lot like my and my husband's story. My hobby is candle making and recycling. My husband likes to fix cars and play video games. We also have a black cat named Sweeney. He is a rescue and has only one eye. His name was Pirate when we rescued him from the shelter 😆.
You folks have and continue to persevere through hard times. You both seem to have fun doing it! 😊 If you live below the poverty level, as you do, you deserve to get the help of food banks. Food prices keep increasing. Maybe put the savings in your piggy bank, or use it as you want. You deserve that for yourselves. JMHO. God bless ~ Chris
Very informative thank you Corinna and Glen. I became widowed at 59 in 2022, I lost all my husband's income and received a very small life insurance policy that I've been living on since then with money we had in savings. I turn 62 in March and will start to collect my husband's social security and I work 15 hrs per week. Its tough but...when you do things like you are, you can manage.
Medicade Medicare and the VA will pay you to be his caregiver If he's disabled or needs assistance around home meal prep bathing dressing All essential daily life needs is what it boils down to elderly or disabled can get assistance You can call your county council on aging or Glenn's primary care provider or welfare office can tell you what you need to do As long his primary care physician signs the paper the agency nurse sends to the Dr stating he requires assistance he should definitely be eligible Also it don't matter if you're married or not you can still paid as his home health aide My company calls us direct care givers I get paid for what I do everyday anyway for my boyfriend his laundry make his bed help him shower shaving washing his dishes he uses Prepare his food so he can eat it He doesn't have teeth so I have to cook his food extra tender cut it up smaller chop or shred raw veggies and fruit for fresh salad and snacks I also do his his shopping remind him to take his meds but I don't get paid for shopping cause I don't have a car. I keep track set up his Dr appointments and help him manage the bills I don't get many hrs cause he's the lowest level of care so he still makes more than I do every month
Definitely! You should check into this. I had to quit my job to take care of my mom. I went through a service and applied to take care of mom. I got paid good. You are low income. You need to get paid for all you do. And they do offer respite care. Someone could be with Glen while you take a day for yourself. You need it.
Truly look up to you Corinna, and I say this in complete earnestness. I’m so glad to have found your channel and “know you” here 😊 your character and faith show in every video, in every challenge you and Glen have faced as a family, and I think you are doing amazingly. I think this channel is like a ministry, uniting people, helping them understand those who struggle and helping us find community in those with similar difficulties. Your story is powerful, and you took years worth of info and outlined it in a way that deeply touches and hits home. Hope it wasn’t hard to go there emotionally, but I can tell you it sure blessed me…always does ❤ y’all keep well, love to you all
I just love you so much. You are so appreciative of everything and such a kind hearted person. I'm glad you guys are doing better. I think it might be a good idea to use the food banks for additional time to put some extra cash away and prepare for emergencies. Thank you❤
Amen, we need to remember he acts in his own time not ours. Just when you think you have no recourse he provides a way. I wouldn’t be where I am without him. I have a blood disorder and doctors told my parents that I wouldn’t live to be 6 today as i speak I am 57 yes 57 years old and blessed !
Your story is such a blessing to others that are going through hardship and great changes in their lives...you both are living proof that courage and strength and blessings that you can overcome the hardest curves life throws in your way thank you for all you do and showing encouraging faith.😁
I have seen so many people lose their house because of a bank preapproved loan. They approve based on gross income not take home pay. Because a bank said they could afford it they go to the top dollar. When taxes and insurance go up they can't make the payments. Most people are a paycheck from losing everything. I am so glad you feel comfortable sharing your story so hopefully others will see it .
Thank you for sharing 💐. It sure was scary to take such a tough decision back then. There is no shame in using all the resources available to help you keep on, we all need that.
I am low income also and my car motor blew so I have no car and is very hard and with income so low I can't afford taxi so I understand because I live it ty for sharing and sorry I can't help you.I have to figure out how to get a car I pray every night about it.I enjoy your channel ❤
you shouldn't have to explain some things, people dont understand and hopefully they won't have to go through tough times, i have spectrum and its getting really expensive here
We are retired and have our grandson to raise since our son passed away 1 1\2 years ago and money is tight. Growing kids always need something(clothes and shoes especially). I have learned like you to do some financial juggling to make ends meet. So I understand, don't ever feel you need to apologize to any of us!
You should still use the food pantry. I understand your kind mindset. I don’t take anything from the food pantry that my husband and I don’t need. Some child may need it.
Bless you both thank you for sharing from New Zealand hopefully things change over there we have a disability support payments here, for careers like you.glen so lucky to have you beautiful lady❤❤
I feel ya low income is tough n especially harder when one is disabled. I was a single parent with 2 kids always had a full time job sometimes 2 jobs. Later on in life I found some work at home jobs. There's lots of those nowadays both full time n part time, maybe you could look into it. I really like watching your simple meal cooking videos I do those too.
Hello, you said you don't use the food bank anymore. I think you guys should use it ever so often, the money you save can be used on soap, toilet paper, etc. God bless you both!
Are you both without insurance? How do you manage if so....also, can glen use his scooter to move about the house? You said he spends his time in his room and you bring his meals to him. That sounds like it would contribute to depression. Sorry if im asking for tmi.
I always hate when I hear people say things like you have a pretty nice car for being at the food pantry. You never know what has happened, I went from owning a home, a marriage, being a stay at home mom of three and everything I owned gone in one night. Including custody of my kids. The last thing I needed in that first trip to the food pantry, was being judged. There but for the grace of God go I my friend.
We get Spectrum through our Hoa now..real cheap. I have 3 boxes pay for 1 now 15 for one.we are allowed 2 with plan.58 dollars.Was2hundred something. Do you get S.S.? Or aren't you old enough..You don't look 62. Take Care my friend.✌🥰🧚♀️🌴

YOU ARE SO KIND FOR SHARING!
LOTS OF FOLKS ARE STRUGGLING 😢
I love that you said that "people have stuff before they became low income" and thats true!
I know right you’ve lived years and years and don’t have anything.
You never have to explain. Low income is hard but it's amazing that it has strengthened my faith in God

As long his primary care physician signs the paper the agency nurse sends to the Dr stating he requires assistance he should definitely be eligible
Also it don't matter if you're married or not you can still paid as his home health aide
My company calls us direct care givers
I get paid for what I do everyday anyway for my boyfriend his laundry make his bed help him shower shaving washing his dishes he uses
Prepare his food so he can eat it
He doesn't have teeth so I have to cook his food extra tender cut it up smaller chop or shred raw veggies and fruit for fresh salad and snacks

Some people are so critical and judgemental without knowing the facts! Hang in there and stay positive!
No matter our circumstances, God always takes care of us! He is good! 😇

Blessings to you bith
I stopped working in 2020 as well. I had a newborn when it all started
Mental health aside, what is the point of living if you can't experience the things that bring you joy?❤😸

Did you get the unemployment during C. You were home taking care of someone, you should have qualified. Do you get retirement from the service?
Thank you for sharing your journey. I'm not sure of your age but, at some point, you are eligible for social security benefits . You paid into it.
Some utube channels have a buy me a coffee account can you do that?
Yes I believe they do have that and similar ones to donate towards ❤

Could you go back to work now doing something else?
I would think that, as long as you film at least some of your trip or drive, you'd be able to write off the cost of gas as a UA-cam business expense.
I was going to recommend Visible. Perfectly happy for six years.
