The translation of words of the Mayor of Warsaw Trzaskowski is incorrect, and I suppose the manipulation of his words was done by The Guardian - sadly - on purpose. He said that Warsaw was tolerant and he believed Poland was tolarant as well. It was however translated as "and I believe Poland also will be tolerant". It has completely different meaning, implying Poland is not tolarant now. I find it to be a journalist's manipulation: instead of presenting the Mayor's of Warsaw words a journalist presented his personal opinion covered up as a statemet of a public figure

The rule of law in Poland has been obstructed and democracy undermined. There's a reason why they are Hungary's greatest ally in the EU.

Actually yes. 1. Poznań is a big city so a street full of people is something manageable with locals alone. 2. Western corporations demand mandatory attendance a lot of the time. We're used to "mandatory volunteer attendance". The elders say party marches were the same- voluntary yet obligatory in practice. Class attendance was checked to make sure there is enough of a crowd "people who rejoice"... On the other hand it's true that cities are more liberal than the countryside. It "helps" that Poznań is one of the strongholds of the main opposition party (multi-party system). Polling amongst the youth has the left baffled "they don't even want medical ". So yeah, things are not perfect but to imply Poland is liberal is simply a lie.
