    Come on Honda, you could sell about 3 million to food delivery people here in the UK besides people like me who would really like to buy one, your definitely missing out on a potentially huge market. Just import a few hundred and see how quick they sell, please Honda 🙏

    I grew up with the old trail 90s. Love those bikes. They had a huge advantage and that is low range. You could creep those things anywhere and somehow not over heat the engines.

    The new longer stroke engine is the same as we have in the Super Cub and Dax 125 in the UK. This is quite frustrating as it's unclear why Honda has opted not to bring the Trail 125 over here and I believe it would sell in greater numbers than the Cub or Dax as we are very limited in terms of lightweight machines with off-road capability.

    Great Video, Amazing Bike. I lived in Thailand for 16 years and had a number of new Honda there which included 2 x 125cc and many other bigger bikes also. I came to Ireland 6 years ago and have bought 2 Hondas here (both 125cc) and here is what I have learned now. The quality of the Thai built ones is better (in my subjective opinion) than that quality of the Italy built Honda sold in UK. Soon after arriving in Ireland I bought a PCX to replace the PCX I left in Thailand, I was surprised on collection to see that the UK PCX was built in Italy. The engine was defiantly absolutely louder than the Thai built bike, and the chrome on the handlebars started to become pitted after less than a year and I never saw that on any Thai built model. The engine on the Thai ones are smoother and feel faster, and before anyone suggests it’s down to emissions regulations I will tell you that Thailand has the highest emissions regulations on new motorcycles in the world. So in my opinion, the Thai built Hondas that are approx half the UK price when purchased in Thailand, are unbelievable quality that is indistinguishable from Japanese built. Also in Thailand nobody pays any attention to the list price, you can always shop around and get a much better price unless it’s a model with a waiting list or a new model just released in the last month.. also you can walk into any Honda dealer for the first time and ride away on your new bike 2 hours later.. none of this pay a deposit and come back in a week nonsense!

    in the 1960s honda were wanting to break into the North American market and approached Harley Davidson as a potential partner to sell the cub (it would have made importing a foreign machine easier and cheaper if partnered with an American firm) but HD said they didn't think the cub would sell in sufficient numbers and wasn't what they wanted to associate with, dang that was a great marketing decision, the cub went onto be the biggest selling bike ever, no other machine even comes close, HD partnered with the Italian firm Aermacchi instead, that worked out well didn't it NOT. who makes the decisions at HD, some old duffers in cowboy boots and stetson hats smoking cigars FFS

    • @PRH123
      @PRH123 Рік тому

      It is possible though, that if Honda partnered with HD on the Cub, it would have been a failure.
      The Aermachis were fine machines, but not marketed as cleverly as Honda did the Cub, and weren't much developed by HD.
      HD had small bikes in the 60's, but it was sort of putting their logo on something they got from someone else, and seeing if it sold. They did run magazine ads so it wasn't like they didn't try at all.... however Honda understood sales and marketing much better than they did... especially when it comes to racing, a motorcycle brand that wins on the track sells at the dealer...

    I might be buying one of these as my first bike. I'm 34. Honestly though I'm a bit scared to ride.
    My friend had dirt bikes growing up so I'm not inexperienced, but when we were 26 he unfortunately got into an accident and lost his life. He was going way way too fast around a bend in the road and that was it, made me really afraid of any kind of motorcycle. I saw the CT125 in green though and feel in love with the little bike, I would love to be driving it around town Spring-Autumn. I know these aren't the most powerful, and I'd be driving extremely safe at all times...I've still always wanted to get a bike for the road but that fear has never really gone away.
    I'm on the fence about it. A dealer about an hour away has one in stock. I already talked to them and explained my contemplation, said they'll get it out of the crate and get it together for me next week and to just let them know if I want it by then.

    The best feature of the old versions is the over/under transmission, the low setting would be useful for slow trail work. And the rack. The best ones were around the early '70s. Folding handlebars? Nope.

    As a owner of a 2022 CT125 here in the USA. I wish it could keep up with my 2019 SuperCub 125. It's about 5mph slower across the range over my SC. Slight hills and headwinds really slow it down when compared to the SC. I am curious if the new long stroke give the 2023 a bit more oomf. Even on down hills my CT125 barely makes it to 55mph. My SC does over 60 on the same spot. (GPS measured). Same motor with lower gearing but uphills its not holding speed better than my SC. I hope the got the new CT to at least keep up with the SuperCub 125. How about finding one and having a race?

      Hey 👋
      Silver is definitely a great colour 👍 but if you want to modify the engine you are limited with the new spec engine ( same as the new Honda Dax ) , when buying engine parts and exhaust you must get JA65 otherwise they won’t fit ,
      Oil filter is a plus on the Gen 2 and adjustable shocks , the OPMID speedo is a great upgrade but again on the JA65 the temp sensor clips are different and you need to do extra fine tuning on reduction ratio as they are different from the JA55 and speed value goes up from 100%to 120% to make it a true read . Top speed and acceleration? Still not breaking any records there 🤣
