  • This video is about Honda CT 125 Accessories It's Only Money! What I've done to my bike to transform it into El' Diablo 142 Special.... SADLY, THERE ARE TROLLS RUNNING ON UA-cam TRYING TO STIR UP TROUBLE JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO. I HAD TO REMOVE AND REPORT ANOTHER TROLL FROM THIS VIDEOS COMMENTS. HOWEVER, I REALLY APPRECIATE THOSE OF YOU WHO SNAPPED BACK AT THE TROLL ON MY BEHALF. THANK YOU FOR THAT. BUT HEY IT HAPPENS!

    You're not going to believe this, but I totally spaced out the addition of the cross bar on the handle bars. I put that on there to hold my phone and GoPro while charging. Cost was less than $25.00 US. I guess Old Age won't let me remember everything I've done to this bike......

Eventually moved back to Oklahoma and stayed there until I made the move to Thailand. As of now, the tan color is only available in the Asian and Australian markets. my guess is they will be available in the US in the 2022 model year, but don't quote me..... I'm just going off the availability of the bike here in Thailand. You can get one off the showroom floors now, when I wanted mine back in September of 2020, the waiting list was months long......

    There seems to be a few knobbies with similar tread patterns mentioned on the 'Net for this bike -
    the Shinko 244, the (almost identical) Unilli UN-7306, and now the Vee Rubber VRM022.
    I'm so glad Mr. Okie has decided to do a comparison test of these tires for us. :-)

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  3 роки тому +1

      Come on Dave, however, when the VRM tires wear out, I might try the Shinko ones to see. I've also thought about trying to find an extra set of wheels for the bike and mount up the IRC stock tires on them as I really like them on the paved roads. That would be the hot ticket, a set for street and a set for off road....... I might have to set up a "Go Fund Me" account for that......

    great job putting this clip together on your acessories. very enjoyable watch. last clip on the new tyres was a great effort too. your bike is sorted out nicely and i think far better than mine too.

    By the way, I used to go in the forested areas on a Honda ct70, but now that I am older I ride a 400cc Honda quad. What a difference, I can go places that a two wheeler couldn't and I do not have to balance something on two wheels. I can go over fallen trees and rocks with no problem. I can carry all my equipment and camping gear, food, and anything else. And I do not have to worry about a flat tire, because they are tubeless and easily plugged.

      I've had several quads in my days, raced them very extensively and to tell you the truth, I've had a blast on them while I owned them. However, here in Thailand, they are quite expensive compared to the bikes, so, you ride what is affordable and what is available. Not many good quads available here in Thailand, mostly China junk and I won't spend my money on what is available here. Love riding the quads though, they were a blast on the race courses....... uide, racer and team-manager. Our experience is that Honda bikes can handle about 20% power increase with no problems. Add more horses and you get a racing engine that needs tender care after every event. (Who cares, it's sooo cheap.) I like to watch you and one other guy called “”ride with warro””. He has 20 accessories to his Trail bike. THE BEST ADD FOR HIM was changing front sprocket to 13 teeth and then changed the rear to a different count teeth. That gave him much more power in mud / water / sand trails in Philippines.
    You two should chat. He is a good fella! I like your big bore kit.
    Do you have a video with links below to websites where I can buy the items for my trail?
    Again those sprocket(s) change helped more also. Oh he got a better chain as he was constantly tightening the factory chain.!
    Between you and warro, my Trail will be really set up.
    I do not have much money so I will focus on big bore/ sprockets / and better chain and tires FIRST. THEN HOPEFULLY SOME DAY I CAN GET THE OTHER ITEMS.
    I RIDE NOW WITH A LOT OF ITEMS WITH ME.. I NEED THOSE RACKS AND USB PRETTY BADLY.
    GOD BLESS!

      Thanks for the comment and yes Warro and I keep in touch with each other. He lives in Australia and the terrain he rides in is some what hilly and his house is very close to the off road trails. Where I live is in the Northern part of Thailand and I have a fairly long commute to the trails we ride. I also think the terrain I ride is a bit steeper than what Warro rides on. With having to ride so far to get to the trails, I definitely needed to be able to keep my highway speeds up a bit so I don't get run over. I tried all the countershaft gear ratios and my ABS light kept flashing on when I would change the countershaft sprocket, so I found the correct rear sprocket and made the gearing change back there. I installed a 42T sprocket (stock is 39T) and have never had the ASB light come on since then. The big difference I had on my bike was the Big Bore Kit, Diablo Exhaust and opening up the air system with an air filter similar to a K&N reusable filter. Those mods with the 42T rear sprocket gave my bike all the low end power I needed and did not effect my ABS system. As for tires, there are several types on the market today, You'll have to check them out for yourself, but I went with a set of Vee Rubber VRM-022 tires, sizes 3.00X17 rear and 2.75X17 for the front. Hope this helps you out and ride safe and keep watching my videos. We've got some very good places to ride in......

    The 181.. Kit.. Has that new cam...
    So the valves don't really need to be changed.. = the cam opens the valves faster, raising them a little higher.. And closing them faster,
    So to go faster, to look at it that way.. = pull in as much air as possible,, mix it with fuel, and blow out the burnt up everything..
    So take it in faster, process it quickly. Blow it out... That new cam helps that process go smoothly..
    So as opposed to a 58 mile per hour top end. Stock... You may get, and I HAVEN'T tried it... 71 mile per hour..
    You shouldn't stay there at that speed long... However it will be very peppy.. So off road climbing, is much easier, faster.. Even on road hills are easier to climb...
    It's a glorified lawn mower engine..
    Even stock engin is amazing to me..

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  3 роки тому +1

      The problems I see on the 181cc modification is the kids here in Thailand are putting them in the Honda bikes to drag race them. Once the throttle is pegged wide open, they leave them there and BANG, they explode. Even with just the 142cc kit in mine, I don't take it up to full throttle often and when I do go there, I sure don't love it there very long. I've found that a small gearing change and the 142cc Big Bore Kit have made my bike able to take on much steeper inclines than the stock engine could ever of gone up. The stock engine would actually bog down and stop on tricky dirt hills and with the BBK it will now motor on up them. I'm not trying to get more speed as here in Thailand, the speeds we do on the paved mountain roads is fast enough for me. I really wanted the low end torque for off road and the 142cc BBK did that just fine... Thanks for the comment and keep watching the videos. Right now, my computer won't allow my edited material to download to UA-cam, have and appointment for next week to go back to the Apple store for repairs. Sorry I haven't put any out lately, but the next ones out will be a series of four or five videos on a trip to a place called the Red Sands Area and then onto a place called the Bat Cave. It was a really fun day of riding and we took the bikes into some pretty tough stuff and they handled it just fine........

      @@MudMonky1 Several items you "DON'T" need. The auxiliary fuel tank, a piece of plastic that hangs on the side of the bike so the first time you fall over, it ruptures and spills all your extra gas on the ground. If there is any metal scraping along pavement when this happens, you lose your sweet looking Honda CT 125 to a ball of fire. I"m not kidding on this one. Item two you should never purchase is the big heavy box or luggage piece that hangs off the rear of your bike. It does and will upset the balance of your bike and make your CT handle like you are riding on ice. We did a video on a wreck that was caused by this very item by one of our new riders in our group. Both bikes which had them installed have since taken them off and will no way re-install them. The Gen 2 engine can not have upgrades done to them and hence they will feel a little down on power compared to any Gen 1 engined CT that has had any upgraded done to the engine. The buddy pegs and rear soft pad for a passenger on the back of the bike are pretty worthless. Most all of your riding will be done with you and you alone on the bike. If you have to take someone with you, just put a towel on the rear rack and let them set on it. Any YSS suspension for the Honda CT is a waste of your money. There are better suspension products out there for almost the same price. Shop around first. A good crash bar that fits in the place of your engine lower braces is advised instead of one that just hangs on the engine down tubes. Sturdy strength is way better than any hang on item.... Shop around. Stay away from installing an X-ring or O-ring chain on your bike as they just rob power form the little Honda engine. If you want it to be a little more spunky, install a 42T rear sprocket on it. This will give the bike a much better low end performance and your acceleration will be improved over any other mod to the Gen 2 engine. If in doubt, ask before buying any after market part for your bike. We have tried literally dozens of after market parts for the Honda CT. Some work great, some work good and some are just junk. Hope this helps you out.....

      @TeamDNFracing  Рік тому

      I did not install the riser on my front fender for the Vee Rubber VRM 022 tires in the 2.75 X 17 size. However my two buddies, Robert and Daniel have both installed the risers on their bikes and Robert did not move his horn over and ended up with a dent on his front fender. I've had no issues with things hitting on the underside of my fender but the occasional rock does flip up with the tires and you can hear it bang up against the fender, but nothing ever gets stuck up there, even when we've ridden in a lot of mud.... So, there is plenty of clearance and I think both of them installed theirs for the looks more than the necessity to have them installed. If I were to go to a 3.00 X 17 front tire, it might rub on the fender if it flips up a rock, but we did not go to the oversized front tire. We did go with the larger 3.00 on the rear though and have had no issues with it..... I've even run a full knob tire on the front and again, no issues with it as long as you use the 2.75 X 17 size tire.....

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  7 місяців тому

      @@Roadie903 Ok, here is what we've used on the three Gen 1 CT's we have in our group. Of the three, mine has the most extensive work done to it as it also was the test bike to find out what worked and what didn't. The BBK itself came from iTimgarage here in Chiang Mai and it included the Piston and rings from Art manufacturing for a Kawasaki Z125. The cylinder was a stock Honda CT cylinder with the sleeve punched out and a Kawasaki Z 125 sleeve installed in the cylinder. Reason for this, the Honda CT has a longer stroke than the Kawasaki Z125, yet the Kawasaki has a larger bore. The combination gives you just short of 143cc. This basically was the BBK, to go with it, we got a fuel injector for a Honda PCX 150, this gives you all the fuel you'll need with this kit. Once you go to the BBK, you'll have to have the stock Honda head ported to lower the compression back down to what was stock, if you don't do this, you'll have a pre-ignition knock when the engine heats up or is under extreme loads. Using as high of an Octane gas as you can get helps, but won't always keep it from knocking. So, it is a must to port the combustion chamber to lower the compression. I had a HiSpeed ported head put on my engine. The other two bikes we just had the stock heads ported. A full port job will also include the exhaust port, intake port and air intake port. I've added an SKA air filter which is very similar to a K&N air filter and then added a SS air intake horn to smooth out and increase air intake. One more addition was to have my Throttle body ported and a slightly larger flutter valve installed. This does not have to happen, but my bike will outrun the other two bikes. Every little bit helps. You will have to buy and ECU that is reprogrammable because the stock CT one is not. We used one for the Honda Wave 125i and it performs flawlessly. As for an exhaust system, the main concern is to make sure the head pipe has a 19mm size to it. The iTimgarage guys put their kit on a dyno and the 19mm head on the pipe delivered the most torque and HP. The pipe myself and Robert use is from a shop called Miyazaki here in Chiang Mai. This pipe allows us to use our stock heat shields and gives good performance.... While you're doing all of this to the engine, buy a good Hot Camshaft and have it installed while everything is apart and before doing the ECU re-mapping. This should give you a very reliable and torquey engine. All your friends will be jealous. It won't be cheap, because you are going to have to spend some money to get all of these parts and have the machine work done. We are very lucky here to have literally hundreds of these little shops around Thailand that specialize in hopping this engine design up. Now, if you have the Gen 2 engine, none of this stuff can be done to that design. Honda made it to where it can't be bored out. Hope you have the Gen 1 engine.....

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  10 місяців тому

      Yes, once we went from the Diablo exhaust to the Murazaki exhaust, we got the increase in power. With the BBK they suggested a head pipe with a 19mm opening. The Diablo pipe was 17mm. That little difference made a ton of power as we also opened up the intake with a much free flowing air filter and a SS intake pipe. With the 150cc fuel injector, larger air intake pipe and free flowing air filter, you need the exhaust pipe to be able to allow all of that fuel/air exhaust gasses to get out of the engine. Do your research on any product you buy, some will give you really good advice and others just want to sell you a product. Me, I tell it like it is, none of these vendors pay me to support their products, including Honda...... Thanks for the comment and don't buy the Diablo exhaust system, shop around. The Murazaki exhaust is now on two of our bikes from our group.... They work.....

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Рік тому

      The upgrade to 142cc came from the larger piston and larger bore in the cylinder, not the head. The increase in compression dictated that we port the head to match the cylinder size increase to drop the compression back down to what the stock engine had. This was to stop a pre-ignition knock that we had on two of the three engines we did the upgrade on. Just doing the Big Bore Kit (BBK) does not increase the top speed any. However, we also installed a Hot Cam and an ECU from a Honda Wave which is reprogrammable and that is what got us more top speed. On my bike, which had the MSX/Grom ECU installed gained from 95KPH to 120KPH which equates to 72MPH. Big increase, but you have to do all of what we did to get it..... Hope this helps.....

It gives the bike much needed low-end pull and doesn't mess with the ABS system near as much as putting on the 13T countershaft sprocket. Have your Honda dealer order you one for a Honda Wave 125i in the 428 chain size. That should perk up the 135cc BBK and make sure you install a good aftermarket exhaust system that is street legal. You will also need to use as high an octane fuel that you can easily obtain because with the higher compression the BBK causes you may end up with an engine Pre-ignition knock. The feed for the air intake is attached to the stock rear rack. Stock Honda has lazy valve springs so they last a long time at designed lift and rpm. Bigger cam and higher rpm will float those honda valves, so the mod companies can't advertise big peak gains, same old modding game. You want to advance intake valve closing and not so much on the back end of the cam profile to facilitate breathing and dynamic compression at low rpm with no 'big cam' high rpm air column. That is also where detonation may come from with stroker kits besides the higher compression piston. It's actually better that you don't need any intake or exhaust mods, nice high velocity air flow at mid-power is what makes the little Honda engine so nice, and just a bit more useful from the cam upgrade. There's not much else that will give gains for the application. Having a little restriction for the computer to not 'overfill' the cylinder at high rpm, while still giving nice breathing at low rpm where the stock intakes still flow well, is exactly how to tune the bike. Wayyy too much emphasis on 'free breathing' mods outside the engine in most other tunes. It's actually bad for the engine here. If the stock Honda valves aren't floating and the computer can keep up with the math with an injector is an almost mythically-proper mod setup.

      The back of the rack sets on the rear fender, to save from a lawsuit they put a very low weight rate on the rear rack. Here in Thailand and Australia, they are also rated at 20Kg. Doesn't stop people form slapping a rear seat and pegs on them and hauling their kid or wife on it.....

      @@TeamDNFracing Thanks for the info. Then, in your opinion does it seem strong enough for a small adult? So in Thailand, the rear seat is not an official Honda option?

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  3 роки тому +1

      @@stevenhs8821 You can get the rear seat form Honda dealers like the Cub House. My friend Daniel has his wife on the rear seat, Thai lady, and there son on the bag on the down tube frame. No problems carrying them all. I believe the ratings are more for insurance against lawsuits in case of a wreck injuring someone. They have to cover their rear end......

    How much is this bike out the door ? It looks great.

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  2 роки тому

      The prices for the accessories fluctuates here in Thailand so much, it is a bit difficult to give an out the door price on the bike. I've got maybe another $1,000 US on top of the $2,600 US it cost for the bike to get it to this point. However, I've made a few changes to it since this video came out and the price has gone up a bit more. That price is for here in Thailand, so expect to pay more everywhere else.......

      Haven' see any 2-strokes around that are newer models. Only real old stuff. If I could find a decent Yamaha DT125 that they didn't want $3,000 US for, I'd get one and do some fast single track riding..... Or maybe just try to do some fast single track riding......

      My riding buddy Daniel is over 6 foot tall and weighs about 200lbs. and his CT125 carries him all over the place. He also uses it to take his wife and son to the market and through town. If you could ride one before buying it, you would probably think it is okay for you, but as they say here in Thailand, "Up to You"...... Honest, they say it a lot here........

    Hope Honda makes a better color in 2024. The green for 2023 is awful and definitely a deal breaker for me

      Actually, the green has a glossy shine to it, so it's not as dull as the brown and grey colors are. Some of the Thai riders just put the color wrap on all the painted parts and change the color of their bike. I personally like the white wrap, looks pretty sharp......

    • @TeamDNFracing

      Yes I could, but I live here on a Retirement Visa and if I started any kind of business, I'd lose my Visa status and have to start my Visa application all over again and it is a lengthy process.... It would be nice if I was able to do shipping of parts, but my simple lifestyle here just won't allow it.....
