Group 4
None of the cars here in this Video are build to any Group 4 or Group B regulations These are pure fantasy cars that should somehow look a bit like the original ones. The technology is not right in any of these vehicles. If that were group B technology, then everyone could throw out their Fly-OFF handbrake - it wouldn't work at all.

Its just because there is no original , or build like original , Car in this Video . There was no anti-lag system and no handbrake in these cars. Here modern technology drives in cars that want to look like the originals from the 80´s .
@@pureblooded3877 There is not ONE original Car in this Video . Non of this cars runs a 10V Engine , and if i am right Klausner and Maurer - the 2 Guys from Austria use a 2,5L TDI Engineblock .
@@Quattroowner FFS! Yeah, ok - This car is crap because it doesn't have a UR chassis number and one of the reversing lights is a slightly off-shade white instead of the yellowish tinged original. The driver doesn't quite have the pre-requisite 'almost 1970s' flared trousers and crap sideburns to qualify to drive an original 80s Quattro. So I'm with you: it's got to be self flagellation and sitting in a bath of ice water whilst sister Assumpta of the chattering order of St Beryl on the Hill throws lumps of coal at our unworthy heads!!

@@34500dauphin The car Klausner is driving her sadly got ruined in 2020 (ua-cam.com/video/CcAPQ-g_iO0/v-deo.html), and even more sadly, Klausner passed away in 2021, following a motorcycle accident.
The driving skills are amazing, still got time to stick a hand out of the window and wave to the crowd !😎👍
The driving skills of the pilots from the 80s are impressive - they drove for time and fought for every second. The video here- its just playing, they want to look spectacular, but it has nothing to do with rallying itself. Driving aiseways the car at every opportunity was not the way rallies were won back then, you drove sideways when you had to.

@@ulysse21 Of course, this is possible with the right combination of tires and engine power - but it doesn't make sense in competition. When you're just running a show for the audience, it's different.

I had a UR Quattro in the 1980's tuned up to about nearly 270 bhp running boost at 25 psi and water methenol injection. Magic car. Handling magic but did get very spectacular at the limit!!! Went totally sideways and you needed to be quick to catch.
Changed my brakes to same as rally cars with a conventional servo etc as per Audi 80 coupe!!! cost a visit to local scrap yard and about 1/2 hour fitting!!! Cost £25!!!! Instead of the potential £2,000 to fit the UR Quattro system!!!!! Advise from Audi Sport over the phone!!!!

This is my favourite rally car soundtrack of all time. After 40 years, that 5-cylinder roar still sends shivers down my spine. I'm hoping Sarah-N-Tuned will put a loud exhaust system on her ur-quattro, gotta hear them 80s vibes again!

It's hard to understand how a RWD Lancia managed to beat this monster.
The Lancia 037 was a race car, specifically constructed for ralleys only, while comparing the Audi was a modified serial car, with its restrictions. Also the Lancia Delta and the Peugeot 205 in their rallye versions were specifically built for ralleys. (lattice frame + mid engine (Peugeot)). Wonderful cars.... Love Group B.
They cheat in some stages
The Quattro was unreliable it was winning every race if I didn't breakdown and retire and Lancia was known for bending the rulebook ie cheating
It was originally thought that AWD would be to heavy and complex to be competitive. This car single-handedly proved that notion wrong.

Yes and its the tv coverage as well, boring shots from inside the car, boring aerial distance shots, boring interviews with drivers who are there just to drive like f**k, cars that look nothing like the actual road going models etc. Its all bullshit. Ditch the helicopter or drone or whatever they use. People just want to see the cars going sideways up close with the lights blazing, on tight bends with the muck and stones flying. 🤣
That's was a fantastic time. Fantastic cars and open exhaust, and best - no electronic. I was lucky to own one of those on the road. King of the road, especially winter on German highways at 4am morning, no snow was cleared - that's the best 👍
Weld the front of an 80 to the back of a coupe, stick the engine from a 200 in, makes a UrQuattro.
Avec la quatro Audi avait tapé juste et fort! Malgré le poid et la taille imposante son moteur 5 cylindres puissant et d’une robustesse incomparable Audi s’est imposé remarquablement ! C’est une des meilleures voitures de rallye malgré son âge et elle tient encore la dragée haute à beaucoup d’autres voitures récentes!

That’s how it’s supposed to sound. There’s a stupid bug in WRC Generations which make this car have almost no sound and it ruins the immersion and flow of driving. They have to fix it. This is one of the most important rally cars ever, if not thee most important

Awesome! The driver's name should get some mention, who is the driver? An incredibly talented and experienced pilot, drives the quattro like a combination of Hannu,Stig and Rhorl!
The Aldi quattro has aged well and shows one car can make a big deal by being the first AWD(group b)rally car.

I think Audi rally cars is all I remember from my childhood. It’s probably why I idolize them. I own an A4 now, love it. Summer tires work fine on snow and ice in -40.

Those guys came to NZ in the Late 70’s when Hannu Mickola was driving a works Escort. Aced it especially on the Icy roads of the South Island. And Stig Blomquist and Ari Vatenin and Walter Rohl. Was called the Heatway Rally . Nothing comes close.

I think it is a lot of fuel in cylinder and when the driver brakes, that fuel must go out of cylinder and explode in exhaust.
If I'm wrong, let somebody tell me, I'm not sure.

Does this beast have the stock 2.2l engine or is it swapped... cause this sounds way more powerful.
Also, my dad used to own a 2.1 commercial sport version of this car and he doesn't stop talking about what an amazing car it was.
Its 2.2 but modified for sure.
