well sewerslvt isnt breakcore so that might be why

I've been trying to learn how to make music for a while now and sewerslvt has always been a huge inspiration of mine. Your tutorial was one of the only actually useful ones I found! Thank you :)
You're fr the only fl studio tutorial yter ive seen that can keep my attention and still explain shit correct tysm
Explain shit kind of correct most of the time
May not be Breakcore, but it sure as hell sounds good, this is why I like DnB, Jungle, Breakcore!
For some reason, these genres make me feel calm than calm songs themselves!
Based comment
its often linked to adhd or trauma. Art disturbs the calm, and calms the disturbed. Or you might just be predisposed to liking this kind of music. Who knows.
i love this so much im entirely new to the whole producing scene and im glad i found this video its funny and might not be the best tutorial for beginners but for the most part its a 10/10 i learned just enough to go on my own thank you vergence
Good luck 😉
Keep in mind, this is drum and bass, NOT breakcore.
@@Shin3y isnt breakcore a subgenre of dnb?
@@Sikt Wikipedia says otherwise
Just FYI for everyone this sample pack is completely ripped and none of the samples are cleared! I use it myself, but be aware of this before putting anything out.
True
pads are fine to use just to note - would be careful with actual melodic arps etc but besides that u are fine
Say we used this pack to create a masterpiece and wanted to release it. How would we go about clearing the samples in the pack? Is it even possible?
@@lawconic1 uploading to youtube, you'll be fine, licensing through a distributor for streaming services though you will be better off with another pack
@@Vergence Thank you!
Discovered Breakcore a few months ago before I entered high school. Gotta say, the fast drums is what I love the most. Fast paced and yet just so good to the point I wanted to start making it.
more atmospheric jungle than breakcore but really good video nonetheless
big W video production sir. From beginning to ending. tysm
big W comment
the jungle jungle pack is the best thing to exist
Junglism will never die keep the breaks alive my guy
hell yeah, someone who knows the difference between jungle and breakcore but doesn't leave a comment like "this isnt breakcore BTW" because he understands breakcore is what most people think this music is therefore to get viewers i have to title it as such
@@Vergence i come from the jungle tape packs and love djs like Ray Keith and LJT Bukem
Im new to this whole breakcorething but recently found Sewerslvt and really liked what i heard
@@Vergence i have extreme disdain towards you (writing it like this so youtube doesnt delete my comment, use your imagination to come up with horrible insults for yourself)
@@Vergence I understand the frustration with those types of comments, but you should also understand the frustration of actual fans of the genre, when they come for one thing, and get something completely different. Personally I see it in a similar but not equal light to false advertising. Genres exist to allow people to find music and tutorials for the style we want, and yet people want to tear it down like its a bad thing? I dont understand the whole simplify genres movement because at the end of the day, its artistic expression.
4:58 for bass samples, if I don't know the note, I just open the waveform in Edison (right click on waveform and Edit in Audio Editor), then hit the flag icon and "Detect Pitch Region". Works every time, use it to find key of samples as well
You got the god damn charisma of Ansel Elgort in Tokyo Vice, really. Which is a really good thing
6:22 I’m sorry to hear about that. Thanks for the tutorial though 🙂👍🏾
damn that's a really weird way to spell "ambient drum and bass"
ah shoot, must've been auto correct my b
Solid tutorial I’m defo going to be using shaperbox rather than grossbeat from now on looks so much better lmao
Tip on picking basses from the sample pack: you can use the wavecandy plugin to figure the note out and then just change to root note from the sampler!
SVLT's content is not breakcore, but also is a personal story for SVLT, we should not see it has just music that they produced but as a journal of how SVLT went downward into insanity base on their recent events that have occurred.
explain. i've just started going down the rabbit hole and everyone has just been super vague.
This isnt breakcore though, this is ambient drum and bass. TikTok got yall all screwed up... Oh well, Its bound to happen to every genre I like these days, Like hardcore just being called hardstyle by gym bros on tiktok despite them being thematically and sound wise different genres. or drift taking over the phonk scene. although this video was very well put together, regardless of my gripes.

damn this video is useful asf AND funny asf cuh keep on doing that shit bro u underated asf
thank you thank you. I'm going back to taking my time on videos to make bangers like this
the best tutorial out there
Sewerslvt is NOT breakcore lol. I love their music but they're ambient breakbeat. People nowadays think everything that's jungle is breakcore... it's become a buzzword due to it being trendy on social media. Breakcore is more aggressive with more cuts, edits and chopped up drums that are well, faster too. Sewerslvt is amazing but the music is the oppposite of the feel breakcore gives, their music is more for chilling. Good tutorial tho still works when it comes to making jungle breakbeat stuff haha
I thought sewerslvt is liquid dnb
Breakcore is like goreshit's tomboyish Love for daughter? Or is it lolicore...
have u listened to any sewerslvt? yeah there’s a lot of chill tracks and ambient pads and vocal backgrounds but there’s a ton of super aggressive glitchy broken dnb tracks as well so i would say it’s both
@@susanwojcicki5714 Well you just said dnb so still not breakcore

Arigato
i feel like you coulda explained why to use layered breaks, how to mix the volume between them and such cuz if ppl dont have an ear for music it would be harder for them to hear what layered vs unlayered drums sound like in different songs
If you really want to sound like Sewerslvt it's *essential* that you get the sample pack he showed at the beginning. Don't sleep on it. Most Sewerslvt tracks are almost completely made from the breaks and pads in that pack. Can't blame them, it has a lot of great samples.
luv u man thx
good vids! I'm subbing. I hope your family sees you make it as a youtuber!
really good vid. sewerslvt is a god. the hardest thing for me is still getting good unique drum sample
I might do a follow up video on using shaperbox to be a bit more precise than the presets. You can do a lot with that plug-in that I didn’t get into

such an underrated channel keep up the good work
I will keep it up, all thanks to these nice comments
why did you make fun of dream? he is my faovirtet youtuber
First off, thanks! This got me started on the genre.
BUT: How does this mixing work with multiple breaks? I love chopping up 2-3 breaks together in "main" sections, but if I stereo separate full plus one and not another, the "other" becomes very faint in comparison, and then pads go into it... and it just becomes a bit of a mess. Any advice?
hmm, I guess I would do a couple of things. 1) I would EQ and emphasize different frequencies on the different breaks. 2) I would listen for when the two breaks are just playing at the same thing at the same time and chop out those parts.
I would also say having the other break being faint isnt necessarily a bad thing, maybe eq the pad to minimize clashing between that break and your pad as well.
@@Vergence Well, I found two things before this comment, though the comment is much, MUCH appreciated.
The problem was/is that I like mixing in multiple breaks for some organized chaos, and in this instance had bits and pieces of four different breaks.
1) I did listen to some Sewerslvt tracks for reference as well, and found that full minus breaks might be the way to go (at least for the most part), so one way was to fully integrate them all and/or adjust how much they are minused on the Stereo Enhancer so that they ALL cut through the mix. Something else I tried but turned out a bit too disconnected was make the "main" break unique from the mess and integrate that, but the shift of focus was too jarring for my taste.
2) If I use Fast Distort after Stereo Enhancer and EQ (around 55% Pre, Threshold to ear, mix and post full, setting A), it acts as a saturator AND like a brickwall limiter. It's a caveman-ish method maybe, but it helps adjust how much of which I want out there.
Either case, your video was IMMENSELY helpful and motivating to start getting into chopping up breaks like a maniac chef. Thanks to this, I'm no longer in the "god, I wish I could write songs like that" AND escaped the rut I had been stuck in for a while! So thanks!
@@RezRez Glad youre getting into this style of music, but I would like to point out, this isnt actually breakcore, that was a misconception started on tiktok by newer producers not understanding the nuances of breakcore and what made it different. This style of music is actually Ambient Drum and Bass.
Suggestion: make Venetian Snares tutorial BUT you're now allowed to do meth or make satanic rituals, you know, the classic way of getting that classic VSnares sound.
ok but you didnt say i cant do other amphetamines.
I make fast drum complex music and ive never done any drugs, aside from the ritalin i was made to take for school, and have stopped for around 5 years. Dont conflate art to drugs, its both reductionist and self-damaging. I hate seeing this, and i see it everywhere. You dont need drugs to make art.
Obviously your post is a joke, and im taking it too seriously, but these types of remarks are literally everywhere, and i have no doubt that millions of people unironically think shit like that. Its not good, dont promote it
@@Otocol If you know it's a joke you know I'm not promoting it. It's literally a satire directed towards people that take this type of thing seriously.
@@Otocol I strongly suggest you watch the short clip roaming UA-cam where Venetian Snares explains what breakcore is.
I agree with the fact that some people will actually completely miss the point I go even further to state that what a big part of the young people on TikTok and UA-cam think breakcore is nowadays (which doesn't include VSnares and the OG people unfortunately) is consequence of this lack of humor and discernment.

all the fucking "breakcore" tutorials on youtube aren't actually breakcore they just slap an amen break over a pad
@@premiumgarbage true, but in all honesty most of the concepts covered in youtube breakcore tutorials can be applied to actual breakcore, from what i've seen (albeit you'd have to take it to the extreme)
which makes sense, i guess - jungle, DnB and breakcore are heavily related and use similar tools after all
@@ashotarakelyan9012 a lot of them can be applied to making any kind of music because of how basic it is

But...it's not breakcore....?
Ok so, how to do breakcore:
Use this tutorial as a guide.
Splice your samples don't do what he did, it's repetitive.
Experiment with time signatures, very important difference...
Breakcore isn't just 4/4 it's the allsorts, listen to Venetian Snares for an example.
thank you for having a brain
This comment is actually pretty fair. I didn’t get deep into splicing breaks because #1 I didn’t know it was so vital to the genre(which it is) and #2 I thought it would be hard to cover because it is something that can very easily be messed up.
